- Device (1) for the adhesive binding of printed products to form printed matter such as book blocks (10), books or brochures, comprising clamping devices (2) driven jointly in succession along a continuous path (18) for receiving printed products gathered to form loose book blocks (10) or unbound printed products, and a plurality of processing stations (5-8) arranged along the continuous path (18) between a feed station (3) for the gathered printed products and a delivery station (4) for the bound printed matter, the clamped book blocks (10) facing the processing stations (5-8) by means of an overhang projecting freely from the clamping device (2) and forming the spine of the printed matter, characterised in that a clamping device (2) designed to receive several book blocks (10) has at least two pressing clamps (15, 16) to each of which one respective book block (10) can be fed.
- Device according to claim 1, comprising clamping devices (2) for receiving book blocks (10) or printed matter aligned in the direction of circulation (F).
- Device according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the continuous path (18) of the clamping devices (2) is arranged to extend in a horizontal or vertical plane.
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the pressing clamps (15, 16) of a clamping device (2) are arranged alongside one another in the direction of circulation (F).
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a feed section (14) leading to a straight portion of the continuous path (18) is associated with a row of pressing clamps of several clamping devices (2).
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the pressing clamps (15, 16) of a clamping device (2) are connected to ajoint actuating device (23) for opening and closing the pressing clamps (15, 16).
- Device according to claim 6, characterised in that the actuating device (23) can be controllably coupled to mechanical, pneumatic or electric drive means.
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the pressing clamps (15, 16) of a clamping device (2) have a joint counter support (21) with which clamping elements (22) movable perpendicularly to the direction of circulation (F) are associated.
- Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the clamping elements (22) can pivot about an axis (24) arranged parallel to the direction of circulation (F) of the pressing clamps (15, 16).
- Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the clamping elements (22) are displaceable perpendicularly to the direction of circulation (F) of the pressing clamps (15, 16).
- Device according to one of claims 8 to 10, characterised in that the counter support (21) has a yoke-shaped cross section transversely to the direction of circulation (F).
- Device according to claim 11, characterised in that the counter support (21) of a pressing clamp (15, 16) can pivot about an axis (24) extending parallel to the direction of circulation (F).
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the pressing clamps (15, 16) can pivot about a joint axis (24) arranged parallel to the direction of circulation (F).
- Device according to claim 13, characterised in that the joint axis (24) is designed as the pivot axis of a pressing clamp (15, 16) formed of the counter support (21) and the clamping element (22).
- Device according to one of claims 12 to 14, characterised in that the counter support (21) of a pressing clamp (15, 16) is arranged on the outer face of the clamping device (2).
- Device according to claim 12, characterised in that the axes (24) of the pressing clamps (15, 16) parallel to the direction of circulation (F) are arranged at a distance from one another,
- Device according to one of claims 1 to 16, characterised in that the pressing clamps (15, 16) of a clamping device (2) are arranged in such a manner that they are distributed symmetrically relative to the continuous path (18) transversely to the direction of circulation (F).
