Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of mechanical watchmaking and relates, more particularly, to a security device for a display.
- the invention finds a particularly interesting application in disc displays, but can also be used for a display implementing a relatively heavy needle, having a large unbalance and inertia.
- the mechanism comprises means for positioning the driven wheel, capable of changing between a first position in which they hold the driven wheel, and a second position in which they leave free the rotation of the driven wheel.
- the document EP 1070996 proposes a display device as described above and in the preamble of claim 1.
- This spring acts at the level of the driven wheel and stabilizes the disc in a determined position, in which one of the inscriptions it carries is centered with respect to the window.
- the positioning of the disks is particularly important for the quality of the display of the room. It is indeed not tolerable that the indication is badly arranged in the window.
- the disk displays are often jumping, that is to say that the drive mechanism of the disk has a spring system that accumulates some energy and that restores it at a given moment to make pass the disc instantly from a first position at a consecutive position.
- the disc advances by a step of 30 ° (for a display type 12 hours) at the end of the fifty-ninth minute of each hour.
- the amount of energy transmitted by the driving wheel to perform this type of training is relatively large and it can sometimes happen that the disk, under the effect of its inertia, performs a double jump. This occurs in particular when the penetration of the teeth of the driving wheel and the driven wheel is relatively low, due to dimensional constraints specific to the movement.
- the tens can be displayed by a central disk and the drives by means of a disk appearing as a ring concentric to the tens disk.
- the amount of energy required for each jump is not always equal depending on whether a single disc or two discs are to be driven.
- the energy supplied can sometimes be excessive when only one of the disks has to advance, which can also cause a double jump.
- the purpose of the present invention is to provide a safety device to avoid these double-jumps.
- the invention concerns a mechanism for displaying information
- a security device comprising a locking member moving between two stable positions, a first one in which it maintains the means of positioning in their first position, and a second in which it leaves free positioning means.
- the locking member passes from its first to its second position under the action of the driven wheel and its second to its first position under the effect of a return system.
- the safety device comprises a rocker cooperating, on the one hand, with the driving wheel and, on the other hand, with the locking member to bring it its first to its second position under the action of the driving wheel, by constraining the system of recall.
- the locking member is a finger cooperating with the positioning means.
- the positioning means are a jumper.
- the jumper has a notch with which cooperates the finger.
- the notch and the finger are arranged so that, when the finger is in its first position, it exerts on the notch a force preventing the displacement of the jumper engendered by the rotation of the driven wheel.
- the finger can be a spring blade and is also the return system.
- the energy supplied by the movement is transmitted to the display by a drive wheel 10 comprising 31 regularly distributed teeth and commonly called the wheel of 31.
- This wheel takes a step through day, around midnight.
- the step can be jumping, by a drive system 11 of conventional type.
- the wheel 10 is positioned by a jumper 12. It is integral in rotation with a first lower wheel 14, a second intermediate wheel 16 and a third upper wheel 18, mounted coaxial with the wheel 10.
- the wheels 14, 16 and 18 are cut on the number 31, but some of their teeth are missing, as detailed below.
- the wheels 14, 16 and 18 cooperate respectively with a lower gear 20, an intermediate gear 22 and an upper gear 24, visible on the figure 2 .
- These gears are mounted coaxially on a shaft 25 and are each positioned by a jumper.
- the pinion 20 has a barrel 20a ending at a first level.
- the pinion 22 is superimposed on the pinion 20 and also comprises a barrel 22a disposed outside the barrel 20a and ending at a second level, lower than the first level.
- the pinion 24 is superimposed on the pinion 22 and comprises a barrel 24a disposed outside the barrel 22a and ending at a third level, lower than the second level.
- the pinions are each positioned by a jumper 27, constituting positioning means, capable of evolving between a first position in which they maintain the pinions, and a second position in which they leave their rotation free.
- a first board 26, circular in the example shown, is attached to the end of the barrel 20a. It carries, regularly distributed around its perimeter, representations of digits 0, 1, 2, 3, intended to display the number of tens of the date.
- a second board 28, of annular appearance in the example shown, is attached to the end of the barrel 22a. It is sized to fit around the board 26, i.e. the inside diameter of the ring is slightly larger than the diameter of the board 26. As the figure 4 , the profile of the board 28 can be determined so that it is located at the same level as the board 26. In the variant illustrated, the board is divided into eight sectors and the pinion 22 has 8 teeth. The board carries the representations of digits 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 and three open or transparent sectors.
- the ring has a constant inner diameter and a first portion of 5/8 th of a turn with a first outer diameter, the digits being regularly arranged on this portion, and a second portion of 3/8 th of a turn with a second reduced outer diameter, so as to define an opening of about 135 °.
- a third plate 30, of annular appearance in the example shown, is fixed to the end of the barrel 24a and therefore takes place at a lower level with respect to the board 28.
- the outer diameter of the board 30 is substantially equal to that of the board 28.
- the board is divided into eight sectors and the pinion 24 has 8 teeth.
- the plate carries the representations of digits 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and three passive sectors, that is to say without registration. These sectors can be open or not or include any registration, as will be understood below, they have no function in the display.
- the profile of the board 30 is adjusted to that of the board 28 so that the two boards are as close as possible to one another, particularly at the areas bearing the digits.
- a screw 32 cooperating with a thread formed inside the shaft 25 holds in position all the gears and boards.
- the pinions 20, 22 and 24 comprise portions devoid of teeth and thus constitute counting means for displaying the correct date and kinematically connect sequentially the drive wheel and the first, second and third boards.
- the wheels 14, 16 and 18 each form a driving wheel of the mechanism cooperating respectively with the pinions 20, 22 and 24 which each form a driven wheel.
- the pinions 20, 22 and 24 are each provided with a locking member 36 for the purpose of preventing the boards 26, 28 and 30 to make a double-jump.
- this locking member 36 takes the form of a finger 38 capable of changing between a first position in which it cooperates with a notch 40 disposed on the jumper 27 to block any movement of the latter, and a second position in which he leaves the jumper free to cooperate with its pinion.
- the finger 38 and the notch 40 are arranged so that, when the finger is in its first position, it exerts on the notch a force preventing the jumper 27 from moving under the effect of the rotation of its pinion 20, 22 or 24. In this way, when the finger 38 is in its first position, any rotation of the pinion and thus of the board it carries is prevented.
- the notch 40 is located as far as possible from the attachment of the jumper spring 27 to the plate.
- the notch 40 can be either made directly in the jumper or by means of an insert.
- the device also comprises a biasing system exerting a force which tends to hold the locking member 36 in its first position and ensures, as explained hereinafter, the return of this member to its first position after it has been moved to his second position.
- the passage of the locking member from its first to its second position, allowing the release of the pinion 20, 22 or 24, is provided by means of a lever 42 fork-shaped.
- the latch has a first branch 42a at which its pivot point is located and a second 42b and a third 42c branches, forming a Y.
- the latch 42 cooperates, by its second branch 42b, with the driving wheel, in this case with one of the wheels 14, 16 and 18.
- the latch cooperates with the finger 38 to bring it from its first to its second position, by constraining the return system.
- the third branch 42c of the rocker may include a pin 44 acting on the return system. The latter also maintains the second branch of the rocker in support against the driving wheel.
- the finger 38 takes the form of a leaf spring cooperating at one of its ends with the notch 40 of the jumper.
- the locking member thus constitutes its own return system.
- the three fingers constitute a single piece having the shape of a comb with three teeth, each tooth having the role of locking member and return system for one of the driven wheels.
- an eccentric 46 can be mounted on the plate to adjust the spring force.
- the display mechanism and the safety device are in the position shown in FIG. figure 3 .
- the display boards are positioned so that one of the indications they carry is properly arranged in a display area.
- the jumper 27 maintains its pinion in this position and the finger 38 cooperates with the notch 40 to lock it. This is so for each pinion.
- the finger 38 is held in this position and the second leg 42b of the latch 42 is pressed against one of the driving wheels 14, 16 or 18.
- each jumper spring 27 can then be lifted by its pinion which is rotated by its driven wheel.
- Each jumper 27 cooperates with its pinion so that it ends his step. Simultaneously, the driving wheels also complete their pitch, under the effect of the jumper 12 of the drive wheel 10.
- the latch 42 can cooperate simultaneously with several wheels leading to release the locking member at each step.
- a device for preventing inadvertent rotation of the display boards they can turn only when they are actually rotated and automatically blocked at the end of the movement they must theoretically perform.
- the proposed device can very simply be applied to any display disc or needle, including jumping type, regardless of the information displayed.
- the locking member could be a rocker, possibly terminated by a pin with which cooperates a separate spring.
- the safety device according to the invention can also be used with trailing or semi-trailing type drives, the position of the discs or needles then being secured relative to possible shocks that could cause them to rotate.
