Schaumstoff-Dichtstreifen der in Rede stehenden Art zur Abdichtung eines Fensterrahmens sind bekannt. So wird diesbezüglich bspw. auf die EP 1 131 525 B1 verwiesen. In dieser Patentschrift ist ein Dichtstreifen dargestellt und beschrieben, bestehend aus einem elastisch rückstellfähigen Schaumstoffmaterial. Dieser Streifen kann in einer als Aufreißfolie ausgebildeten Umhüllungsfolie aufgenommen sein, wobei ggf. nach entsprechender Öffnung der Folie sich der Schaumstoff-Dichtstreifen zufolge einer vorgesehenen Imprägnierung verzögert zurückstellt. Hierbei ist eine Breitseite des Schaumstoff-Dichtstreifens mit einer der Laibung der Mauerwerksöffnung zugewandten Seitenfläche des Fensterrahmens klebeverbunden. Im Einbauzustand dichtet der Dichtstreifen mit seiner anderen Breitseite gegen die Laibung ab.
