Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an oil collecting device for an internal combustion engine, in particular for a boxer engine according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
In today's water-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engines of the 911 series Carrera (Dr. Ing.h.c. F. Porsche AG) is in the oil guide housing or in the oil pan an oil bulkhead box attached to the oil pan cover is provided, in which the oil sump for the engine is supplied with lubricating oil. That from consumers to the Oil pan returned lubricating oil is first outside of the oil extraction space forming oil bulkhead is returned before passing through it in the oil bulkhead Flaps monitored openings in the actual oil extraction chamber.
The object of the invention is to improve the so-called. Integrated dry sump To further improve functionality in order to achieve a high degree of integration at the same time includes a reduction in the scope of pre-assembly.
This object is achieved with the features of claim 1.
Swirlpots.According to the invention, one is formed in the oil collecting space from a wall section Inclined provided that as a drainage surface for the returned to the oil collection space Lubricating oil is used. This sloping side wall of the oil collection space supports the oil return from the cylinder heads to the extraction point in an advantageous manner. The lubricating oil returned from the cylinder heads, for example, hits the oblique one running drainage surface and from there passes over the in the oil bulkhead provided openings in the oil extraction chamber. Through the training at an angle running drainage surfaces can maintain the volume of the oil collecting space the functionality of the pressure lubrication can be reduced. At the same time they serve Drain surfaces through the defined flow of the returning oil to Defoaming of the lubricating oil; they take over the function of otherwise Usually used oil / air separators, the so-called swirlpots.
Further advantages and advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the Subclaims and the description.
The wall section provided with the lubricating oil drainage surface in the oil collecting space is open advantageous way in one piece from the oil collection housing down final oil cap formed. This can be for the drain surface provided plastic part are molded so that the previous one in the oil sump Dead spaces can be significantly reduced. So that the internal combustion mesh with a lower amount of lubricant in circulation, which means weight and Cost advantages can be claimed.
The sloping drainage surfaces, which simultaneously defoam the lubricating oil are provided, can also be provided with ribs, knobs or similar shaped bodies be provided so that the lubricating oil on the way into the oil extraction chamber is degassed accordingly.
The two oil bulkheads delimiting the oil extraction space and in the oil collection space arranged oil return lines are in one piece as a kind of pre-assembly module summarized. The integration of the components belonging to the dry sump is further increases when the oil suction snorkel located in the oil collection chamber with the two Oil return lines is combined in one piece as a common module.

The
The oil is returned to the oil pan in the following way:
The lubricating oil extracted from the two cylinder heads of the engine is transferred to the
