Description

The invention relates to an oil collecting device for an internal combustion engine, in particular for a boxer engine according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

In today's water-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engines of the 911 Carrera series (Company Dr. Ing.h.c. F. Porsche) is in the oil guide housing or in the oil pan an am Oil pan cover attached oil bulkhead provided in which the oil sump for the Lubricating oil supply to the engine is designed. That from consumers to the Oil pan returned lubricating oil is first outside of the oil extraction space forming oil bulkhead returned before flipping it over in the oil bulkhead monitored openings in the actual oil extraction chamber. The structure of the Oil bulkhead is relatively complex; also v. a. at lateral accelerations of the Vehicle oil movements within the oil pan possible, which pose a risk that there is not enough lubricating oil in the oil extraction chamber Such oil pans are known from JP58200017.

The invention is therefore based on the object, the oil movements within a Reduce the oil guide housing or an oil pan; the constructive Implementation can be easily integrated into the oil guide housing.

This object is achieved with the features of claim 1.

The oil movements are separated by the oil bulkhead separating the oil suction chamber effectively reduced within the oil guide housing; the oil transfer from the Edge areas surrounding the oil extraction chamber is only defined via the in the Openings provided for oil bulkheads possible.
