Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electromechanical switch according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Electromechanical switches for connecting or disconnecting electrical conductors are available in great variety on the market.
- the basic mechanical structure of such switches is essentially always identical, by a movable, conductive switching part to corresponding contact surfaces of the conductor connected to the switch, respectively. Press lines and thus produces an electrical connection, respectively. by moving the switching part away from the contact surfaces again disconnects the electrical connection.
- two adjacent contact surfaces are simultaneously contacted by the switching member and thus created between these two contact surfaces, the electrical connection.
- the displacement of the switching member is conventionally by means of a shift lever, which is also mounted in the housing of the switch and connected to the switching part movable or fixed.
- the shift lever itself is usually made of an electrically non-conductive material, or is at least reliably electrically insulated from the switching part and the contact surfaces.
- a problem of such switches is that due to the movement clearance due clearance between the shift lever and switch housing no absolute tightness of the switching range can be achieved. As a result, dirt and moisture can get into the interior of the switch housing and in particular pollute or oxidize the contact surfaces and / or the switching parts. Thus, the functionality of the switch can be greatly impaired or fail completely.
- the object of the present invention was to find an electrical switch, which can be easily produced even in very small dimensions and reliable on and off operations respectively. Cable connections and separations allows, the switching unit should be reliably protected against the influence of external moisture.
- a sealing region sealing the switching area advantageously simultaneously effects the electrical insulation of the free end of the switching part, which can thus be used as the actuating surface of the switch, and also conveys the contact pressure from the switching part to the contact surfaces.
- a simplification of the structure of such an electromechanical switch has been found by can be dispensed with separate elastic means for positioning and generating the contact pressure, as is effected in conventional switches, for example by the use of metallic springs.
- the elastic membrane preferably generates this contact pressure by its bias set between the switch housing and the switch part. This is achieved, for example, by pulling the membrane over the preferably pin-shaped switching part and, with slight pulling, in accordance with the required contact pressure, around the contact surfaces and around the corresponding housing part of the switch.
- Such switches are particularly advantageous for use in small electronic devices, in particular for hearing aids.
- FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section through an inventively designed switch shown in which the pin-shaped switching member 1 is in contact with two adjacent contact surfaces 2 of three mutually parallel contact pins.
- the contact pins 3 are here introduced in the lower housing part 4 side by side and protrude to the outside to create an electrical connection with electrical lines (not shown) from.
- the switching part 1 is formed on its contact side 1 'hemispherical and thus locked in the shown position between the two right contact surfaces 2 in a stable position.
- the switching part 1 is pulled by the elastic force of the membrane 5 against the contact surfaces 2 and thus fixed in this position elastically.
- the membrane 5 is made of electrically non-conductive material, preferably of a thermoplastic, the outer side of the membrane 5 in the region of the free end of the switching member 1 can serve directly as an actuating surface. This eliminates the need to provide next to the switching part 1, a separate actuator.
- the elastic effect can advantageously be mounted on either the outside or the inside of the membrane 5 notches 7, as shown in the view of the membrane in FIG. 4 is shown. These reduce depending on the dimensions and number, the elastic restoring force of the diaphragm 5 and thus allow a certain adjustment of the operating force of the switch.
- the notches 7 may be arranged either longitudinally or transversely, according to the desired effect on the elastic force effect.
- the lateral boundary of the range of motion of the switching part 1 forms the edge of the recess 6 'of the upper housing part 6.
- the switching part 1 only of the in FIG. 1 shown switching position are moved to the opposite switching position and back. This is in each case a stable, electrically conductive connection between the central contact pin. 3 with the corresponding left resp. right outer pin 3 made.
- the contact area between the switching part 1 and the contact surfaces 2 is thus hermetically sealed by the membrane 5 against the environment of the switch and thus protected from dirt and moisture.
- the membrane 5 leads around the contact surfaces 2 and at the same time serves as a seal between the lower housing part 4 and the upper housing part 6.
- the diaphragm 5 is firmly connected to the outer housing part 6 as shown. This can be done, for example, in the manufacturing process directly or by subsequent insertion in this position.
- the lower housing part 4, as in the bottom view in FIG. 2 is still shown, can be inserted with inserted contact pins 3 from below into the upper housing part 6, which is already equipped with the membrane 5 and the switching part 1, and fixed to this.
- the fixation can be done in a conventional manner, either insoluble by gluing or welding, or more easily using appropriate trained connecting straps resp. tongues are made by latching. In any case, a reliable sealing of the contact area in the interior of the switch is thus advantageously achieved.
- FIG. 3 is again a longitudinal section through the switch to FIG. 1 shown rotated by 90 °.
- the switching part 1 is preferably formed in a pin shape, preferably as a metal pin, with a round cross-section, whose outer surface is formed by the membrane 5. This is a simple and pleasant to grasp resp. operable switching element of the switch created.
- the contact surfaces 2 are always shown here in a semi-circular shape, but may also have other shapes such as a mushroom shape or hook shape. Thus, for example, the use of mushroom-shaped contact surfaces 2 is conceivable, which in turn are resiliently mounted relative to the lower housing part 4 in this, as shown schematically in the FIGS. 5 and 6 is shown.
- FIG. 7 is the middle switch position shown, in which the two middle contact surfaces 2 are electrically connected to each other via the switching part 1. By pressing the switching part 1 to the left or right from this position, the two outer contact surfaces 2 can be connected to each other.
- a great advantage of the illustrated embodiment in addition to the tightness is to be seen in that even opposite conventional switches the number of parts could be reduced, since the membrane at the same time as a handle resp. Actuator, seal and spring element for applying the contact force is used. Also, the structure shown allows a high degree of miniaturization, so that the switch in particular for use in small resp. miniaturized electronic devices, in particular for hearing aids. Especially such devices are exposed to a heavily dirt and moisture-laden environment.
