Definitions
- the invention relates to a base for a denture model and to an articulator according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- Patent application DE-A-2949 697 describes a method for producing a denture model in which positive replicas of the tooth stumps made of model material are detachably attached to a prefabricated solid base plate made of a dimensionally stable plastic. In this case, holes are individually machined into the base plate, which serve as guide elements for pins, which are then immersed in the hardening model material and are finally anchored in the tooth stump.
- This method has been improved by developments in accordance with DE-A-3320050 (Zeisermodel). Base plates made of plastic were provided, which had leading side walls so that a plaster model could be picked up at the same location even after it had been removed.
- the articulators were also designed to be used several times and were all designed to guide the upper dentition relative to the lower dentition in the way that was possible with the patient's temporomandibular joint. This applies to both the open-close movement and the lateral displacement of the upper dentition relative to the lower dentition.
- the YSB articulator offers an edge guide for the tooth models, as a pan-shaped recess with ribs on the wall allows positioning and repositioning of model parts.
- a wall of the pan can be folded away to the side. When inserting model parts, they are inserted into the closed pan from above and the ribs take over the positioning.
- the invention is based on the object of creating a new base and a new articulator which are intended to allow an improvement in the workflow for the dental technician and an increase in the manufacturing accuracy in the manufacture of dental prosthetic items.
- Denture parts should continue to be manufactured with a dimensionally stable, prefabricated base plate in a way that saves time and is therefore less expensive.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that, in most cases, the Wohlwend model allows good guidance of the model, but with very small model parts there is a risk that the pins offer too little guidance.
- a guide rail in the sense of the invention is to be understood to mean both grooves and ribs, which in the gypsum model enable training that is the same in each case.
- pan-like receptacles Furthermore, the aforementioned observation of the problems caused by contamination in pan-like receptacles was attempted to be avoided, since the pan itself has only temporary side walls, so that the base of the base plate is not at the bottom of a pan when needed, but can be lifted out of it or from it Walls can be completely freed. Thus, gypsum remains, abrasion or the like. not or these can be easily removed.
- the individual tooth stumps can therefore be put back on the base plate several times without fear of inaccuracies between the wall sections on the base plate and the guide surfaces on the model.
- a bit model is already known from US Pat. No. 3,581,398, in which a guide web is provided for the model instead of individual pins.
- this bridge is anchored permanently in the model and detachably guided on the base, which partly consists of a hardenable material and not solely a prefabricated base plate and must therefore be manufactured separately. In this way, no guide surfaces are formed during the hardening of the model plaster.
- the well-known Zeis model also has a variant in which, in addition to a breakthrough, a web protrudes vertically from a base of the base plate, the wall of which is used as a guide, but this web does not cooperate with the pins provided according to the invention, which, in individual cases, act as a type of pivot bearing for one Form tooth model part, wherein the rotational movement is prevented by the rail according to the invention.
- the base plate can be made of various materials such as plastic, aluminum, stainless steel or the like.
- an articulator is created that completely moves away from the previously dominant idea of attempting to reproduce the TMJ situation in a realistic manner and rather seeks storage of the upper dentition model that allows the tooth models to move freely with respect to one another, with freedom of movement along the interlocking tooth hump is meant. It should not dominate the (arbitrarily) specified temporomandibular joint situation, but rather the actual (involuntary) cusp situation of the teeth.
- FIG. 1 shows an oblique view of a base plate in an articulator according to the invention
- 2 shows an embodiment according to the invention as in FIG. 1 with a C-shaped support bracket and a removed base plate;
- FIG. 3 shows an embodiment of an articulator according to the preceding figures with an incisal straight pin
- FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of an articulator according to the preceding figures with a different mounting of the pivot axis, here in the fixed storage position;
- FIG. 5 shows a schematic representation of an articulator according to the invention, the pivot axis here being located in a rubber-mounted bearing; 6 shows a view of the interchangeable component with a rubber bearing without guide groove and
- annular guide jacket 3 for the lateral fixing of a plaster model on the base plate 1.
- the base plate 1 has two rows of pins 4 with a conical contour which, in the plaster model, produce recesses of the same type which serve as positioning aids.
- As a positioning support there are two longitudinal ribs 5 on the base plate 1, which, in cooperation with the pins, enable the plaster model parts to be precisely positioned subsequently.
- the guide jacket 3 fits and self-locking on the side surfaces, but can be moved or removed along this, so that the plaster model comes to stand completely free on the base plate 1.
- the articulator includes a base 10 which, in the embodiment shown, has an approximately congruent outline with the base plate 1 and serves as a base plate for the articulator.
- the base plate 1 can be detached from the base 10 in one movement, since it is only attached there. Preferred and in itself As is known (Amann model), the base plate 1 is held on the base 10 by means of a holding magnet 24 and guide pins 25.
- the floor carries two guide columns 6, which support a pivot axis 7.
- the bearing point is preferably designed as a curved lateral path 8, which allows the pivot axis 7 to move freely.
- the present path is not oriented towards the temporomandibular joint but towards the tooth bumps of the individual patient and can therefore differ from patient to patient.
- a path with an average value orientation is shown.
- the pivot axis 7 is spherical at its ends so that it slides well in the lateral path 8.
- a snap lock 9 enables the pivot axis 7 to be locked.
- the pivot axis 7 supports a flap 11 which has similar fastening means for a base plate 1a for the upper dentition model.
- the base plate 1a also carries a guide jacket 3a.
- a clamping screw 12 enables the pivot axis 7 to be rigidly connected to the flap 11. Loosening the clamping screw 12 allows the flap 11 to be moved laterally on the pivot axis 7. The flap is thus optimally movable relative to the floor 10.
- the outline of the flap corresponds about the floor 10.
- the flap 11 is supported against the floor 10 by means of a support bracket 13.
- the support bracket 13 is adjustable in height and can be clamped by means of screw 14. Parts 6 to 14 form the articulator 15.
- FIG. 2 shows an articulator, which is equipped with a C-shaped support bracket 13, which can also be placed in recesses other than 16c, namely 16a and 16b, from both directions, so that the support bracket 13 also the flap 11 that is folded back in an approximately horizontal position supports. Furthermore, this drawing shows that the base plates rest on magnet holders 23 with a magnet 24 and guide pins 25.
- FIG 3 shows a metal pin 17 which can be adjusted in height by means of the clamping screw 14 and which is provided at one end with a plastic tip 18.
- the height of the column 6 can be adjusted by means of the clamping screw 14a.
- FIG. 4 shows that the pivot axis 7a cannot be spherical, but can also be cone-shaped and can be accommodated in a fixed bearing 21.
- the component 20 is preferably designed as an interchangeable component, the sectional view of which shows that one side provides a fixed bearing 21 and the other side provides rubber bearings 19.
- This flexible bearing 19 can be made of rubber or other materials with similar properties.
- the rubber bearing 19 is provided with a groove 26 for receiving the peg-shaped pivot axis 7a.
- the selected storage by means of the interchangeable component 20 is locked with the lock, which can preferably be designed as a bayonet lock.
- the bearing 19a consists of two halves which are clamped together with the closure 22.
- the two halves of the bearing 19a are no longer provided with a groove 26. equips, so that there are good adjustment possibilities of the pivot axis 7a in height.
- FIG. 7 shows that the columns 6 can be positioned horizontally by means of a slide 27 and a locking screw 28. This ensures not only the adjustment in the height of the pivot axis 7a, as can be seen from FIG. 6, but also in the horizontal.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides for the columns 6 not to be firmly connected to one another by means of a connecting base 29, but rather to keep each column individually positionable along a rail in the floor 10.
- a denture impression is first made in a known manner by means of a spoon open at the top and bottom, which is filled with a material material, for example an epoxy plastic or plaster.
- the base plate 1 is placed under this denture impression.
- the identical base plate 1 a is placed on this denture impression from above, so that there is an automatic alignment of the tooth row impressions or the resulting plaster models. Alignment in a special implement can be omitted.
- the articulator is equipped with a C-shaped support pin which is secured against falling out automatically by means of an O-ring.
- This O-ring is made of a non-slip material and is fitted in a groove.
