Les flancs 24 de la gorge assurent le guidage du câble et évitent que le câble ne sorte de la gorge du renvoi. Le câble est ainsi maintenu latéralement par le ressort. L'embout peut en outre présenter une saillie 25 surplombant la gorge 21. La saillie permet de limiter le débattement du câble et de maintenir ce câble dans la gorge. Le câble est ainsi maintenu normalement à la surface de contact. Ainsi, lors d'un choc ou lors du déplacement du câble, le câble ne peut pas sortir de la gorge. Cette saillie 25 peut également servir à glisser le câble dans la gorge lors du montage en l'empêchant de ressortir de la gorge lors de phases ultérieures de montage du lève-vitre.
