Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for producing brushes, in particular Toothbrushes in which a brush body is formed by injection molding in a mold cavity is, bristle filaments connected to form a bristle with the brush body and at least one is essentially parallel to the bristle filaments extending soft-elastic cleaning element, preferably by injection is formed on the brush body.
- the brush In addition to the conventional bristle filaments, which usually form bundles of bristles are held together in the brush body, the brush also has Cleaning elements, preferably made of a thermoplastic elastomer.
- the Cleaning elements are not only used to clean the teeth and the neighboring one Gums, but also the massage of the gums. Also improve the cleaning elements the application of dentifrices.
- One after the generic Process manufactured and designed as a toothbrush is for example known from WO 96/15696.
- Such a brush has so far not been able to assert itself since it is not the actual one Requirements are sufficient.
- the user regularly brushes over expected the entire brush head.
- the flexible cleaning elements should have a contour, i.e. a history of usage Ends that extend from the course of the bristle surface of the brush, i.e. of that area the brush body, which of the bristle filaments and / or the soft elastic Cleaning elements protrudes, differs.
- the previously known method is relatively complex. So at first a recessed brush body made by injection molding and Bristle filaments after removal of the brush body with this through the recesses introduced brackets connected. After a possible post-processing of the ends of the bristle filaments on the use side, the brush body is once again in one Injection mold used and at least one flexible cleaning element molded onto the brush body by means of injection molding.
- EP-0 458 999 discloses displacement plates that are individual to the geometry of the bristle field can be tailored to selectively individual bristle bundles to remove the bristle field from the sphere of action of the post-processing tool.
- the expansion plates are partially axial Direction in relation to the longitudinal axis of the bristle bundle delivered to the user side Press the ends of the bristle bundles towards the brush body.
- Embodiments are proposed in this prior art, with the Displacement plates from the area of influence of the post-processing tool removing bristle bundles at their ends on the usage side by the displacement tool to grasp and pull both outwards by an oblique movement as well as to deflect down towards the brush body.
- the present invention is based on the object of the method for the production of brushes of the type mentioned in that brushes that a combination of flexible cleaning elements and bristle filaments have, without restriction of the bristle field geometry and / or the contour of the bristle can be produced, and a device suitable for carrying out the method to accomplish.
- the present invention uses A method with the features of claim 1 or a method with the features proposed by claim 2.
- the displacement of individual bristle filaments known from the prior art is also disadvantageous in that it cannot be reliably guaranteed that predetermined Bristle filaments or groups of bristle filaments, i.e. Bristle bundle in be processed in a defined manner, while other bristle filaments from the Processing area of the post-processing tool can be kept away.
- This The first alternative of the proposed solution according to the invention becomes disadvantageous thereby safely avoided that the at least one flexible cleaning element is compressed by wires fed in the axial direction and that the user side The ends of the bristle filaments are guided past the supplied wires become.
- the wires hitting the bristle filaments in a line almost have a negligible width, so that the bristle filaments push past the wires are, whereas the flexible cleaning element, especially at an elongated extension of the same, from which at least one wire is gripped and is pressed towards the brush body.
- the preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention in which at least a wire, preferably several wires and particularly preferably a wire grid in the axial Direction of the bristle filaments is fed to the brush body and that or the flexible cleaning elements in the axial direction of the bristle filaments are compressed, is preferably developed such that the bristle filaments are supported on the wires during post-processing.
- the above the Bristle surface arranged wires reduce the free bending length of the to be machined Bristle filaments and thus improve post-processing of their usage side Ends in a predetermined manner. An uncontrolled bending of the bristle filaments is particularly prevented when using a close-meshed wire mesh.
- the soft elastic Cleaning element for removal from the sphere of activity of the Post-processing device gripped at its free end.
- the state of the art Technology known displacement of individual bristle filaments can not with the required Accuracy. Individual bristle filaments to be displaced remain in the bristle field and are subjected to post-processing in an undesirable manner, whereas other bristle filaments to be processed from the effective range of the post-processing tool can be removed.
- the flexible cleaning element is at least partially circumferential is enclosed.
- gripping elements can be used that can be actuated Have grip areas. The procedure is particularly easy then constructively realize when an agent is delivered to the brush body which is at least one encompassing the flexible cleaning element Has gripping opening. The flexible element is caught in this gripping opening and laterally deflected by actuating the deliverable means. hereby it is safely prevented that bristle filaments to be reworked out of the effective range of the post-processing tool are accidentally removed.
- FIG. 1 shows a brush 1, which in the exemplary embodiment shown is a toothbrush is formed and the brush head 2 in a schematically illustrated clamping device 3 is held.
- the brush 1 at a transition between the brush head 2 and a neck area 4 by conical and against the Side surfaces and the top of the brush 1 adjacent pins 5 clamped and centered.
- the toothbrush 1 is clamped in this Position with its underside on the clamping device.
- the brush head 3 is also overlapped by the clamping device.
- One in the FIGS. 2 and 3 include the post-processing tool in the exemplary embodiment shown a grinding roller 6 which is driven in rotation.
- a frame 7 Between the brush head 2 and the grinding roller 6 is a frame 7, which is in the range of Brush head 2 is recessed.
- This frame 7 is together with the grinding roller 6 supporting fork 8 height adjustable, essentially in the longitudinal direction of bristle filaments 9 formed on the brush head 2.
- the clamped brush 1 has not only bristle filaments 9 on its brush head 2, but also a soft elastic extending essentially in the longitudinal direction of the brush Cleaning element 12 on.
- This flexible cleaning element 12 is in the embodiment shown essentially as in the transverse direction in the middle of the brush head 2 standing wall.
- post-processing is carried out by means of Injection molded brush.
- the manufacturing process as such is for example known from DE 845 933, in addition to those in the form of bristle bundles summarized bristle filaments on the brush head 2 the soft elastic Cleaning element 12 are formed, as is for example from WO 96/15696 or US 5,628,082 is known. This is done in a separate injection molding step preferably thermoplastic elastomer by means of extrusion coating on the brush head 2 integrally formed.
- the brush thus produced is in the last processing station shown in Figures 1 to 3 post-processed, i.e. the ends of the bristle bundles on the usage side rounded by grinding.
- the grinding roller 6 together with the Frame 7 lowered.
- the recess 11 of the frame 7. The individual filaments 9 slide past the wires 10, whereas the flexible cleaning element 12 in the direction of the bristle area the brush head 2 is pressed.
- the Sanding roller 6 together with the frame 7 finally acts on the sanding roller 6 Use ends of the bristle filaments 9 and rounds them off. In doing so the bristle filaments 9 taken in the direction of rotation of the grinding roller 6 and against Curved wires 10, which hold the bristle filaments 9 due to their tension such an excessive retraction of the bristle filaments 9 before grinding prevent.
- the invention is not restricted to this exemplary embodiment.
- the arrangement of the wires spanning frame 7 are at the discretion of the person skilled in the art.
- the wires should preferably be approximately at right angles to elongated soft-elastic cleaning elements run.
- the arrangement, the density, is determined accordingly and the distribution of the wires according to the design of the soft or elastic Cleaning elements.
- Also can be made of wires running at right angles to each other formed grid may be provided, which is arranged in the recess 11. By a close-meshed grid can support the bristle filaments during post-processing be improved.
- FIGS. 4 to 7 show a further embodiment of a post-processing station shown.
- This embodiment has one to that shown in Figures 1 to 3 Embodiment identical clamping device.
- a displacement plate 22 is provided to the side surface of the brush head 2, which is shown in Fig. 4 in its starting position.
- This displacement plate 22 forms a means with which arranged at the edge of the brush head 2 is essentially rod-shaped molded soft-elastic cleaning elements 23 from the effective range of a Post-processing tool, here a tool for grinding the Use ends of the bristle filaments can be removed.
- the flexible cleaning elements 23 provided only on the outside of the brush head 2.
- the soft elastic Cleaning elements 23 together with bundles of bristles 24 that alternate to the flexible cleaning elements 23 are provided, the side Edge of the bristle surface formed on the brush head 2.
- the displacement plate 22 has teeth 25 at its end facing the brush head 2 which extend parallel to the longitudinal extent of the displacement plate 22. Between A slot 26 is recessed in each case adjacent teeth 25. The teeth are 25 limited by displacer cheeks 27, which are substantially perpendicular to the plane the displacement plate 22 extend. In a cross-sectional view, the Teeth from the bottom of an H or U-shaped profile, the legs of which through Displacement cheeks 27 are formed (see FIG. 5).
- the teeth 25 each have a gripping opening 28 at a predetermined location. at In the exemplary embodiment shown, each gripping opening 28 is oval.
- the teeth 15 are arranged in different levels and resemble the different positions the ends of the flexible cleaning elements 23 due to different lengths the same.
- the displacement plates 22 are based on those penetrated by the bristle bundles 24 Bursting surface of the brush head 2 can be moved obliquely (see FIG. 5). From the in Fig. 4 starting position shown, the mutual displacement plates 22 on the Brush head 2 towards and towards the ends of the bristle bundles 24 in the direction of use of arrow F in Fig. 5 delivered. This infeed movement takes place at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the bristle filaments. During this infeed movement, the individual the teeth 25 surrounding displacement cheeks 27 the bristle filaments of the soft elastic cleaning elements 23 adjacent bristle bundle 24 in the slots 26.
- the usage-side ends of the flexible cleaning elements 23 slide first with a progressive feed movement of the displacement plate 22 on the The underside of the teeth 25 facing the brush head 2. This state is shown in FIG. 5 shown. As the feed plate 22 progresses, spring finally the cleaning elements 23 into the oval gripping openings 28.
- the displacement plate After only the flexible cleaning elements 23 with their upper free end have been caught in the oval gripping openings 28, the displacement plate retracted towards their home position.
- the soft elastic Cleaning elements 23 at least partially circumferentially at the gripping openings 28 and are gripped in a simple manner by the displacement plate 22.
- flexible cleaning elements 23 bent outwards about their longitudinal axis until the processing position shown in FIG. 7 has been reached.
- the brush-side ends of the teeth 25 are flattened and tapered and accordingly have one is essentially parallel to the bristle surface, i.e. perpendicular to the filaments extending top. This upper side is in the processing position shown in FIG. 6 essentially in one plane with the bristle surface of the brush head Second
