Description

The present invention relates to a device for the application of a product, especially cosmetic or care, on eyelashes or eyebrows or other fibers keratinic compounds comprising an application member having first and second parts connected by a base and between them a plurality of elements for application of the product.

Many devices of this type are known.

The international application WO 01/05273 which belongs to the state of the art defined by Article 54 (3) EPC concerns a device for the application of a product to fibers keratinic agents comprising an application element comprising a support and at least two rows of teeth arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the support.

US Patent 3,921,650 relates to an applicator including a comb, a twisted brush and a serrated end.

There is generally a need to have an organ application capable of loading with a relatively large amount of product, in order not to cause the user to have to reload too often the application member in product during makeup.

In the known application members comprising a row of teeth, the quantity of product held between them depends on their spacing. The quantity of product that the enforcement body can handle is then limited by the fact that the The teeth must remain relatively tight in order to grip the eyelashes.

There is also a need to have an enforcement body that is comfortable to use and which may in particular have some flexibility in moment of application.

The present invention aims to propose a new applicator capable of to grip the keratinous fibers and / or to spread the product on their surface in a manner satisfactory, while having sufficient autonomy and being comfortable to use.

The invention achieves this by virtue of the fact that the application member comprises, between said first and second parts, at least one support element comprising all or part of the elements intended for the application of the product, and connected to the base at most on part of its length.

The support element can be suspended between the first and second parts, being connected to these at its axial ends.

It can also be connected to the base by bridges of material between them one or more openings.

It is possible thanks to the invention to arrange the element of the support to a certain distance from the base to provide at least one opening in which the product can be retained for application to keratinous fibers, including eyelashes.

In addition, the support element may have, by its method of attachment a increased flexibility in the transverse direction, which makes application of the product more comfortable for the user.

In a particular embodiment, the support element is constituted by a reported element; alternatively, the support element is made in one piece with the remainder of the applicator member, for example by injection molding.

The suspended element can be made of a material different from that used to manufacture the rest of the application member.

In particular, the support element can be made in an elastomer, thermoplastic or vulcanized, and the rest of the application member in a material rigid or semi-rigid plastic.

In a particular embodiment, the support element comprises a wall having a serrated edge, forming teeth for the application of the product.

The support member may have a generally flat or pleated shape, a relatively large amount of product that can be deposited on its main faces.

The product deposited on the latter makes it possible to load the keratinous fibers in product while the serrated edge is used to spread the product deposited on the fibers keratinous and lengthen them.

When the support member has a wall both pleated and having a serrated or pinched edge, the combing action of the fibers keratinic is strengthened.

The application member may comprise a plurality of support members or a support member comprising branches, so as to define a plurality of walls possibly having different orientations, each comprising elements intended for the application of the product on keratinous fibers.

Such walls can promote the accumulation of product on the organ application and allow the creation of product reserves to increase its autonomy.

It is advantageous for the applicator member to have several edges intended to the application of the product and that these edges are arranged so that a fiber keratin, in particular an eyelash, may come into contact with at least two edges during application, because in this case the effect of combing and / or smoothing is reinforced, and moreover the application member can grip the keratinous fibers further, which makes it possible to bend more easily if necessary.

In a particular embodiment, the application member comprises two support elements, namely one consisting of a wall having an upper edge toothed and the other formed by a second wall located between the first and the base, the two walls being flat or folded and having different orientations, for example substantially perpendicular, the second wall preferably having two edges jagged opposite or provided with pins.

Preferably, the edges of the support member (s) used for the application of the product are substantially contained in an envelope surface connecting the first and second part of the implementing body and building on them.

In a particular embodiment, the first and second parts of the organ application are front and back respectively. These parts are preferably profiled to facilitate the crossing of a wiper member by the organ application.

In a particular embodiment, the element of the support extends in a zigzag pattern, thus forming teeth that can be used to separate the keratinous fibers, and can further comprising protruding pins to hang said fibers.

The element of the support extending in zigzag may be parallel to a plane or to extend alternately on both sides of a plane by forming for example teeth.

Still in a particular embodiment, the element of the support comprises several walls arranged in a fan shape when the application member is observed in section transverse, each with at least one edge capable of combing the keratinous fibers.

These fan-shaped walls are preferably arranged in such a way as to allow the simultaneous contact of a keratinous fiber with two adjacent edges during the application.

In a particular embodiment, the application member comprises an element support having a core supporting slats oriented transversely to blade.

Such slats may have a generally flat shape, and be perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the core or make an acute angle with it.

The lamellae may overlap when the application member is observed sideways, to form V grooves for gripping the eyelashes and bending them.

The slats may still vary in size according to their positioning on the core, so as to give the application member a profile adapted to the contour of the eyelid for example.

In a particular embodiment, the application member comprises a wall extending obliquely above the base.

The application member may comprise several rows of teeth or pins axially offset from each other.

These rows of teeth or pins may be worn by the element or elements of support.

The enforcement body may include more than one adjournment between the one or support elements and the base.

Another subject of the invention is a packaging device and application comprising a container containing a reserve of product, an organ wiper and an applicator having a rod provided at one end with a prehension constituting a closure cap and at the other end of an organ application as defined above.

The application member can make an angle with the rod.

It can be made in a softer material than that in which the stem is made in order to be more comfortable to use, being fixed on the rod by welding, sticking or deformation of the rod for example.

It can still be made in one piece with the rod.

The packaging and application device 1 shown in FIG. comprises an applicator 2 comprising a rod 4 provided at one end with an organ 3 and at the other end of a gripping member 5.

The device 1 also comprises a container 6 housing a reserve of product P, for example mascara, this container 6 being provided with a wiper member 7 to wring the applicator member 3 out of the container.

The gripping member 5 is here also a closure cap of the container 6.

In the example illustrated in FIG. 1, the wiper member 7 is constituted by a block of open cell foam.

Of course, the invention is not limited to a wiper member of a type given.

Thus, the wiper member 7 can be replaced by a wiper lip 7 'in elastomer, as shown in Figure 2, this lip 7 'can be flocked or not.

Advantageously, the rod 4 then comprises a necking from being positioned at the edges of the lip 7 'when the applicator is in place on the container, in order to do not compress this one.

In the example described, the application member 3 comprises a base 15 of general shape elongated along a longitudinal axis X, connecting front parts 11 and rear 12.

The X axis here coincides with the axis of the rod 4.

Alternatively, the X axis could make an angle with the axis of the rod to obtain a more ergonomic applicator.

Shown schematically in perspective in Figure 3 the implementing body 3.

The front portions 11 and rear 12 are profiled to facilitate the crossing of the wiper member 7.

In the example described, the base 15, rigid or semi-rigid, which connects the parts front 11 and rear 12 is eccentric, front 11 and rear 12 extending to the side only higher than base 15.

The front portions 11 and rear 12 have respective faces 11a and 12a opposite, substantially flat and parallel to each other and perpendicular to the axis X.

The applicator member 3 comprises, quite opposite the front part 11, a endpiece 13 intended to be inserted into a housing 9 formed at one end of the rod 4.

The application member 3 comprises above the base 15, between the parts before 11 and rear 12, a suspended element constituted here by a flat wall 14 having on the side opposite the base 15 a serrated edge 16.

The lower edge 17, opposite the serrated edge 16, is free and clean with the base 15 a rectangular aperture 18.

In the embodiment described, the thickness of the wall 14 is clearly lower than that of the base 15 and the wall 14 has a certain flexibility in the direction transversal, that is to say in the direction in which the application member is moved on the eyelashes during use.

The wall 14 is connected, in the embodiment described, over its entire height to the faces 11a and 12a.

The serrated edge 16 forms a relatively large number of teeth 19, for example between twenty and fifty, the bottom of the grooves formed between the teeth 19 being at a non-zero distance from the edge 17.

Product can accumulate on each side of the wall 14.

FIG. 4 shows an application member 3 'which differs from the applicator member 3 previously described, on the one hand, by the fact that the wall 14 is replaced by a wall 14 'shorter, whose axial ends 14'a and 14'b are not do not connect to the front parts 11 and rear 12 and secondly by the fact that the wall 14 ' is connected to the base 15 by bridges of material 14'c.

Due to the absence of attachment to the front 11 and rear 12 parts, the wall 14 'of the application member 3' has increased flexibility in the direction transverse to the wall 14.

FIGS. 5 and 6 show an application member 20 which differs essentially of the application member 3 previously described by the fact that it comprises two suspended elements 21 and 22 connecting to the faces 11a and 12a of the front parts 11 and rear 12, namely a first suspended element 21 constituted by a flat wall having a serrated upper edge 23 and, between this first plane wall and the base 15, a second flat wall 22 having two opposite side edges 24 serrated.

The plane of the wall 21 is substantially vertical in FIG. 5, as are the front portions 11 and rear 12 of the applicator member 20, and the plane of the wall 22 is perpendicular to that of the wall 21.

The serrated upper edge 23 is substantially contained in the surface envelope E connecting the front 11 and rear 12 and leaning on the latter.

It is the same with the serrated edges 24 of the wall 22.

FIG. 7 shows an application member 30 which differs from application members 3 and 20 previously described by the fact that it comprises an element suspended constituted by a pleated wall 31 connecting to the faces 11a and 12a and having a serrated edge 32 opposite the base 15.

The fold lines 33 of the wall 31 pass alternatively through the bottom and by the top of the grooves formed between the teeth 34 defined by the serrated edge 32.

The presence of the folds reinforces the combing action of the eyelashes during use.

It also increases the surface of the suspended element and the amount of product that can be loaded.

FIG. 8 shows an application member 40 that differs from those previously described by the fact that it comprises three suspended elements 41, 42 and 43 constituted respectively by a vertical plane wall similar to the aforementioned wall 21, by a horizontal wall similar to the aforementioned wall 22, and by a pleated wall similar to the wall 31 described above.

Figure 8 is very schematic and aims to illustrate the fact that the organ application may include a wide variety of application effects can be added.

FIGS. 9 and 10 show an application member 50 comprising a base 15 as previously described and a suspended element 51 having a central wall 52 and, on each side of this central wall 52, upper walls 53 and 54, the assembly having a cross sectional configuration in general fan, as can be seen in Figure 10.

The suspended element 51 is capable, in this embodiment, of containing between the various walls that make it up a relatively large amount of product, which facilitates the application of the product on the eyelashes and increases the autonomy of the applicator.

The product deposited on the eyelashes can be spread on them thanks to various jagged edges.

FIGS. 11 and 12 show an application member 60 which differs of the application member 50 previously described in that the central wall 52 is extended between the upper walls 53 by a wall 61 whose upper edge 62 is serrated.

Product may accumulate between walls 61 and 53 and between walls 53 and 54, like the embodiment previously described.

An eyelash C can be loaded with product in contact with the product retained between walls 61 and 53, without the product being found in excess on the eyelash, thanks to passage thereof between the teeth of the serrated edges of the walls 61 and 53, as illustrated in Figure 12.

FIGS. 13 and 14 show an application member 70 which comprises a suspended element 71 comprising a heel 74 having two axial ends 74a and 74b connecting to the faces 11a and 12a respectively, and a wall 75 having a serrated free edge 76, having free axial ends 75a and 75b.

The applicator member 70 comprises, between the wall 75 and the base 15, a second wall 77 parallel to the first.

The heel 74 corresponds to the upper part of a vertical wall 78 having a central opening 79 extending over substantially its entire length.

The wall 78 is connected by its axial ends to the faces 11a, 12a and by its lower side at the base 15.

The wall 77 is connected to the foot of the wall 78.

The walls 75 and 77 extend obliquely with respect to the wall 78, with free edges 76 and 77a located substantially at the contour of the front portion 11 when the applicator member is seen in cross section as in FIG.

In the examples of FIGS. 1 to 14, the base 15 which connects the front and back of the support is eccentric.

FIG. 15 shows an applicator member 80 comprising a support 81 having front portions 82 and rear 83 connected by a connecting portion or base 84 disposed substantially in the center of the applicator member.

The front 82 and rear 83 parts have respective faces 82a and 83a parallel lines, between which extend two suspended elements 86 and 87, diametrically opposed relative to the connecting portion 84, provided on their edges outer teeth 88.

Product can accumulate in annular space 89 around the portion of 84, to load the eyelashes product.

FIG. 16 shows an application member 90 comprising a support 8 as previously described and two suspended elements 91 and 92.

Each element 91 or 92 has a wall extending in a zigzag in a vertical plane, provided with pins 94 extending out of this plane, intended to participate in spreading the product on the eyelashes.

The two elements 91 and 92 are in spaced planes.

FIG. 17 shows an application member 100 that differs from the application member 90 previously described in that the suspended elements 91 and 92 are replaced by a suspended element 101 which extends in a zigzag shape forming teeth 102 and 103 alternately located on either side of a median plane of symmetry of the support.

FIG. 18 shows an application member 110 which differs from that described with reference to FIG. 3 in that the teeth 19 of the wall 14 are replaced by teeth 112 alternately curved on each side of the wall 111 on which they are connected.

FIG. 19 shows an application member 120 which differs from that described with reference to FIG. 3 in that the teeth 19 are replaced by pimples 121.

FIGS. 20 and 21 show an application member 130 which comprises three upper, intermediate and lower superimposed hanging elements 131 to 133, these suspended elements being each provided with rows of lateral teeth 134 and 135 extending respectively on either side of a median plane of symmetry B for the base 15.

The rows of teeth 134 and 135 carried by the same suspended element can be superimposed when the application member is viewed from the side, as on the 20, or be shifted to form between them, when the organ application is observed from the side, V-shaped grooves for gripping effective eyelashes.

The teeth made on the intermediate suspended elements 132 and lower 133 show in the example described a larger size than the teeth formed on the element upper suspension 131, to allow an eyelash to come into contact with teeth of several elements hanging during application.

FIG. 22 shows an application member 140 which includes a suspended element 141 comprising a core 142 connecting to its axial ends to the faces 11a and 12a, this core 142 supporting a plurality of lamellae 143, each of these slats having a generally planar shape and being oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the soul 142.

In the example shown in FIG. 22, the lamellae 143 are identical and parallel.

Their spacing is chosen so as to allow an eyelash to pass between they come into contact with their opposite faces, which then exert on the eyelash friction to grip it.

The slats can have different configurations and sizes variables depending on their location between the front 11 and rear 12 parts, as illustrated by the applicator member 150 shown in FIG. 23.

In this figure, the slats are oriented obliquely with respect to the axis of the soul, in order to form V grooves 151 when the application member is observed to side.

We can give the slats a decreasing and increasing size when one moves from the front portion 11 to the rear portion 12, as illustrated by the member 160 shown in FIG. 24.

In this application member 160, the lamellae 161 define a surface envelope E, which is on each side of the concave application member towards the outside and adapted for example to fit the contour of an eyelid.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have just been described.

In particular, it is possible to produce an application member with one or more support elements for the application having other configurations.

The support element or elements can be oriented transversely to the axis of the applicator rod, as shown in Figure 25.

In this figure, there is shown an application member 170 which comprises two lateral end portions 172 and 173 connected by a base 171 and, in between last, a suspended element 174, arranging with the base 171 an ajour 175.

The one or more support members can be flocked.

It is possible to use for producing the suspended element or elements a material plastic containing a filler for improving the slippage of keratinous fibers.

In the embodiments which have just been described, the teeth can be replaced by pimples.

When the applicator member comprises two rows of teeth or pins or more, the teeth or pins of these rows may be axially offset, for example staggered, in order to grip more eyelashes.

Claims (28)

1. A device for applying a substance to hairs, in particular eyelashes or eyebrows, the device comprising an applicator member (3) having first and second portions (11, 12) interconnected by a base (15), and between said portions a plurality of elements for applying the substance, the applicator member including between the first and second portions at least one support element comprising all or some of the elements for applying the substance, and connected to the base over no more than a portion of its length.
2. A device according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the support element (14) is suspended between the first and second portions (11, 12) of the applicator member.
3. A device according to either one of the two immediately preceding claims, characterized by the fact that the support element (14') is connected to the base (15) via bridges of material (14'c) leaving one or more gaps (18) between them.
4. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element is constituted by a separate piece fitted to the remainder of the applicator member.
5. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by the fact that the support element is integrally formed with the remainder of the applicator member, in particular by injection molding.
6. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element is made of a material that is different from the material used for making the remainder of the applicator member.
7. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element is made of an elastomer.
8. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element includes a wall having an edge that is serrated or provided with spikes.
9. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element is generally plane or folded in shape.
10. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element has a wall (31) that is both folded and presents an edge that is serrated or provided with spikes.
11. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the applicator member has a plurality of support elements (21, 22) or a support element comprising ramifications (51), so as to define a plurality of walls each having elements for applying substance to hairs.
12. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the applicator member has a plurality of edges for applying substance and by the fact that these edges are arranged in such a manner that a hair, in particular an eyelashes, can come into contact with at least two edges during application.
13. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the applicator member has two support elements, one constituted by a first wall (21) having a serrated top edge (23) and the other constituted by a second wall (22) situated between the first wall and the base, the two walls being plane or folded and of different orientations, in particular being substantially perpendicular, the second wall preferably having two opposite edges that are serrated or provided with spikes.
14. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the edges of the support element(s) for applying substance are substantially contained in an envelope surface (E) interconnecting the first and second portions of the applicator member and bearing thereagainst.
15. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the first and second portions of the applicator member are front and rear portions (11, 12) respectively.
16. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that said portions are shaped so as to make it easier to pass the applicator member through a wiper member (7; 7').
17. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that it includes a support element (91; 92; 101) extending in a zigzag configuration.
18. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element (91; 92) is parallel to a plane.
19. A device according to claim 17, characterized by the fact that the support element extends on either side of a plane, in particular by forming teeth (102, 103) situated alternately on either side of said plane.
20. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element has a plurality of walls disposed in a flared configuration when the applicator member is observed in cross-section, with each having at least one edge capable of combing hairs.
21. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that said walls are arranged in such a manner as to enable a hair to come into contact with two adjacent edges simultaneously during application.
22. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the applicator member comprises a support element having a core (142) supporting leaves (143) that are oriented transversely relative to the core.
23. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that said leaves overlap when the applicator member is seen from the side, so as to form V-notches (151).
24. 25. A device according to any preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the support element has a wall (75) extending obliquely over the base.

A packaging and applicator device comprising a receptacle containing a supply of substance (P), a wiper member (7; 7'), and an applicator comprising a stalk fitted at one end with a handle member also constituting a closure cap, and at the other end with an applicator member as defined in any preceding claim.
27. A device according to the preceding claim, characterized by the fact that the applicator member is made of a material that is more flexible than the material of which the stalk is made.
28. A device according to claim 26 or claim 27, characterized by the fact that the applicator member is formed integrally with the stalk.
