- the aim of the present invention is to solve the above problems, by providing a continuous casting roll, particularly for producing aluminum or aluminum alloy strips, which can be cooled more effectively than conventional continuous casting rolls.

- the cooling of the continuous casting roll according to the invention is better than the cooling that can be obtained in conventional types of continuous casting roll.
- the jacket 6 of the continuous casting roll according to the invention can be cooled to a greater extent and more uniformly than conventional types of continuous casting roll. This allows to achieve higher rolling speeds and reduce the wear of the jacket.
- the central portion 3 of the body 2 of the roll 1 clad by the jacket 6 has a substantially continuous cylindrical profile which, during the replacement of the jacket 6, does not have to be subjected to mechanical operations in order to repair breakages or seizures, thus allowing to replace the jacket 6 in a shorter time.
- the better cooling achieved in the continuous casting roll according to the invention considerably limits the deformation of the roll during its operation and therefore provides a rolled product which has a more uniform thickness. This allows to also reduce the thickness of the rolled product and therefore to consequently reduce the subsequent cold-rolling cycles required to bring the rolled product to the intended thickness. All these advantages lead to an increase in the productivity of the entire rolling line and therefore ultimately lead to a reduction in the production costs of the rolled product.

Claims (8)
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1), servant en particulier à produire des bandes en aluminium ou en alliage d'aluminium, comprenant :un corps de cylindre (2) qui comporte une partie centrale (3) sensiblement cylindrique et une enveloppe (6) servant à enrober ladite partie centrale (3) du corps de cylindre (2) qui est conçu pour venir en contact avec la matière en fusion,une pluralité de rainures circonférentielles (7) qui sont formées sur la surface interne de ladite enveloppe (6) et s'étendent autour de l'axe de ladite enveloppe (6), lesdites rainures circonférentielles (7) pouvant être alimentées en un liquide de refroidissement,ladite partie centrale (3) du corps de cylindre (2) comporte, sur sa surface cylindrique qui s'accouple avec la surface interne de ladite enveloppe (6), des rainures axiales (8) en vue de la connexion de ladite pluralité de rainures circonférentielles (7),au moins un conduit d'alimentation (9) et au moins un conduit d'évacuation (10) pour le liquide de refroidissement qui sont formés dans ladite partie centrale (3) du corps de cylindre (2), à proximité de l'axe (5) du corps de cylindre (2), ledit conduit d'alimentation (9) et ledit conduit d'évacuation (10) s'étendant parallèlement à l'axe (5) du corps de cylindre (2) et étant reliés à ladite pluralité de rainures circonférentielles (7) par des conduits de communication (11) formés de manière radiale dans ladite partie centrale (3) du corps de cylindre (2) et avec un orifice d'entrée ou un orifice de sortie dans lesdites rainures axiales (8), caractérisé en ce que lesdits conduits de communication (11) comprennent une pluralité de conduits d'alimentation et d'évacuation se trouvant dans des plans radiaux communs et répartis de manière égale sur toute la longueur dudit axe (5) afin de distribuer de manière uniforme le liquide de refroidissement à ladite pluralité de rainures circonférentielles (7) et à avoir une température sensiblement homogène sur toute la longueur dudit axe (5) de ladite enveloppe (6).
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite enveloppe (6) se compose d'un cylindre creux qui est ouvert au niveau de ses extrémités et est ajusté de manière coaxiale autour de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1), lesdites rainures circonférentielles (7) étant fermées, de leur côté orienté vers l'axe (5) de l'enveloppe (6), par la surface cylindrique de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1) qui s'accouple avec la surface interne de ladite enveloppe (6).
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce qu'un desdits conduits de communication (11) est relié à un conduit d'alimentation (9) ou à un conduit d'évacuation (10) et se trouve sur le même plan radial où un autre desdits conduits de communication (11) est relié à un conduit d'évacuation (10) ou à un conduit d'alimentation (9), respectivement.
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que lesdites rainures circonférentielles (7) ont, dans une section transversale radiale, une forme sensiblement rectangulaire dans laquelle un côté est fermé par la surface cylindrique de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1) et les coins qui ne se trouvent pas au voisinage immédiat dudit côté sont arrondis.
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que lesdites rainures circonférentielles (7) ont une section transversale radiale sensiblement semi-circulaire.
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que des moyens de scellage sont intercalés entre ladite enveloppe (6) et ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1).
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens de scellage comprennent, pour chaque extrémité axiale de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1), un joint annulaire (12) qui est partiellement logé dans un siège circonférentiel (13) formé de manière coaxiale dans la surface cylindrique de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1).
- Cylindre de coulée continue (1) selon une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que ladite enveloppe (6) est verrouillée de manière axiale sur ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1) par deux corps (14a, 14b) en forme de disques qui sont ajustés de manière coaxiale sur ledit corps (2) du cylindre (1) sur les deux extrémités opposées de ladite partie centrale (3) du corps (2) du cylindre (1), lesdits corps (14a, 14b) en forme de disques fermant un côté desdits sièges circonférentiels qui logent lesdits joints annulaires (12 et 17).
