Bei dem vorgenannten Verfahren ist, wie üblich, die im Teilprogramm Zugabe einer Rückspülwassermenge zum Ausspülen der ausgetauschten Härtebildner aus dem regenerierten lonenaustauscher zugegebene Rückspülwassermenge zur Vermeidung einer Verlängerung der Programmablaufzeit und unnötigen Wasserverbrauchs auf eine geringe Wassermenge begrenzt, die nur den größten Teil der Härtebildner aus dem lonenaustauscher ausspült. Dieses sogenannte Rückspülen des regenerierten lonenaustauschers wird dann bei dem vorgenannten Verfahren in dem nachfolgenden Teilprogramm Zwischenspülen, da es ein Teilprogramm ohne Reinigerzugabe ist, um eine Verdünnung des Reinigers durch evtl. ausgespülte Solebestandteile zu vermeiden, fortgesetzt. Da bei bekannten Verfahren die zugegebene Rückspülwassermenge üblicherweise auf die Zugabe der größten Solemenge zum Regenerieren des lonenaustauschers und damit konstant auf die größte Menge von aus dem regenerierten lonentauscher auszuspülenden Härtebildnem eingestellt ist, ergibt die damit insgesamt zum Ausspülen der ausgetauschten Härtebildner aus dem regenerierten lonenaustauscher zugegebene Rückspülwassermenge ungefähr 4,2 Liter Wasser, unabhängig davon, wie groß die Menge der auszuspülenden Härtebildner wirklich ist.
