Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for processing Print products at high speed.
- Material webs e.g. B. of paper, printed and then cut in a cutting unit, so that book blocks are formed which, for. B. Form sections of newspapers.
- These book blocks usually have to be further processed, e.g. B. be trimmed at the edges so that even, straight edges are created.
- the product flow usually has to be slowed down. This is often because of this achieved that the product stream is divided and the partial streams formed in this way braked become. This process often takes up a lot of space.
- No. 3,811,350 describes an apparatus and a method for trimming arcuate material described in which the arcuate material of one Conveyor belt is passed to a first trimming station, in which it is at the front is circumcised. Then the sheet material is transferred to a second one Passing trimming station in which the head and foot of the arcuate material be circumcised.
- the knife arrangements can be from a crank drive are driven.
- This device has the disadvantage that only a single product stream is processed.
- the throughput of the device is limited because the quality of the Trimming at high speeds is affected.
- the object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method create the editing of print products with higher throughput enables.
- the procedural solution is a method with the features according to Claim 10.
- the inventive device for processing printed products with high Speed includes a separator for dividing a product stream into at least two substreams, the substreams after separation preferably in To be moved essentially in the same direction. Furthermore, a first one Processing unit for processing the products of the first of the at least two Partial streams and a second processing unit for processing the products of the second of the at least two partial flows.
- a merging facility leads the at least two partial streams after processing in the processing station to one leaking product stream together.
- the separating device is preferably in a different plane than the processing station arranged above the at least two processing units.
- the partial flows are preferably moved in the downward direction.
- the merging facility is in one third, preferably different from the processing and parting plane arranged below the at least two processing units. By this arrangement the required space is reduced and at the same time an increased throughput guaranteed.
- the product stream can in particular also be divided into four or more sub-streams be shared, the products of which are all moved downwards and processed in the process become.
- the partial flows are preferably at a uniform distance from one another arranged in a circular path.
- the processing units can be designed, for example, as cutting units, However, can also be used as any other processing units, for. B. as Labeling units or ink jet printing stations can be formed.
- the products are preferably held by individual bag grippers.
- the inventive method for processing a stream of printed products provides before that the product stream is divided into a plurality of sub-streams, the Partial streams after splitting essentially in the same direction, preferably are moved in parallel so that the products of the individual partial flows are processed, and that the product stream is restored.
- the product stream When dividing the product stream, at least part of the product stream is preferably guided in a circle around a central axis, with the partial flows at an even distance to each other are distributed on the circle. Then the partial flows preferably moved in the downward direction and the products in the partial flows from the arranged within the cylinder formed by the partial flows Machining units processed. Below the processing units, the Partial streams are preferably combined again into a single product stream become.
- Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of a machining device 2 according to the invention, which has a separating device 100, a Processing station 50 and a merging device 150 comprises.
- a product stream 1 of individual book blocks 3 runs into the Separator 100 a.
- Each of the book blocks is made up of a single one Gripper device 10 held on the outside of a (not shown) Guide rail is attached.
- the individual gripper devices 10 can in the Guide rail are driven, for example, by a chain drive.
- the separating device 100 preferably moves the book blocks entering it essentially in an xy plane Z 1 and divides the incoming product stream 1 into four parallel sub-streams 101, 102, 103 and 104 (FIG. 3). After the division, the partial streams 101, 102, 103 and 104 move out of the plane z 1 , preferably perpendicularly to it, in the direction of a processing station 50. Thus, if the plane z 1 of the separating device lies above the processing station 50, the partial streams 101 run, 102, 103 and 104 preferably perpendicular and in a straight line parallel to one another down to the plane z 2 .
- the Processing station 50 is, for example, a trimming device that a Front cut unit 151 and a head and foot cut unit 180 for trimming the Products of the first partial stream 101 comprises.

- the products 3 After the products 3 have been cut, they have either already reached a further xy plane Z2, in which the individual partial streams 101, 102, 103, 104 are reunited, or are conveyed along the direction of the partial streams.
- the individual products 3 are then moved again in the plane z 2 and thus move essentially perpendicularly relative to the direction of movement of the partial streams 101, 102, 103, 104, the merging unit again making the individual partial streams into an output stream of processed products 6 united.
- the processing device By dividing the product stream 1 into four sub-streams 101, 102, 103, 104, the Trimming the products in the four sub-streams and merging the The processing device enables partial flows into a single product flow excellent throughput performance, although machining and running speed of the partial streams are kept slow relative to product stream 1 and output stream 6 can, which increases the precision of the machining.
- an ink jet printing station 25 may be arranged on the frame 60 to hold the printed products in the partial flow 101 z. B. to print with addresses.
- a similar one can be used for each partial stream Ink jet printing station may be provided.
- the processing station 50 can be a processing station or else comprise several processing stations for each partial stream, e.g. B. a cutting unit, an ink jet printing station, a labeling unit or any other type of Processing station for printed products.
- Fig. 2 is a plan view of the processing device 2 is shown, in which the Separating device 100 is shown in more detail.
- the products in product stream 1 are from individual, held in a rail 33 gripper modules 10.
- everyone's around one Base 4 arranged arms of the separation device 100 comprises a transfer device 19, the first product of a group 5 of four products at the transfer station 11 detected and transferred to the first partial flow 101 because of the rotation of the arms.
- the transfer device detects a second one Product of product group 5 and transfers it to partial stream 102 at 6:00 a.m.
- a third product of product group 5 is sold by Transfer device detected and transferred to partial stream 103 at 3:00.
- the separating device can accordingly be designed similarly to the device which is shown in the United States patent application filed on the same day as the present invention "Device and Method for Splitting a Printed Product Stream" for sharing a product stream, application no. 449.133) by the same inventors as present application is described.
- the products 3 essentially move in one level.
- the partial flows are preferably moved vertically out of this first movement plane z 1 for the purpose of feeding them to a processing station.
- FIG. 3 shows a top view of the processing station 50, which comprises a base 60.
- the Products of the four substreams 101, 102, 103 and 104 are from the processing station 50 edited.
- Each of the products of the four sub-streams 101, 102, 103 and 104 is initially trimmed in the respective front cut unit 151, 251, 351 or 451.
- the Front cut unit 151 comprises a knife arranged on a knife holder 131 130.
- the knife holder 131 is attached at both ends to two arms 132 and 133.
- the arms 132 and 133 are slidably supported in an arm holder 134.
- the of the Knife holder 131 are opposite ends 132 'and 133' of the arms 132 and 133 preferably toothed and engaged with a central drive unit 80.
- the central one Drive unit 80 includes a central drive shaft 81 which arms 82, 83, 84 and 85 drives, so that these the wheels 92, 93, 94 and 95 forward and backward (in Turn clockwise / counterclockwise).
- the rotation of the wheels 92, 93, 94 and 95 causes the wheels 72, 73, 74 and 75 to rotate in the opposite direction.
- a counterclockwise rotation of the central drive shaft 81 thus causes one Movement of the arm 82 so that the wheel 92 is first rotated clockwise.
- the Wheel 92 is engaged with wheel 72 and arm 132 so that the rotation of the wheel 92 clockwise rotation of the wheel 72 causes counterclockwise.
