Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour la coulée continue de métaux, en particulier de brames minces d'acier, dans une lingotière fixe qui présente deux parois latérales larges en vis-à-vis qui présentent, dans la zone d'entrée de coulée, une ouverture en forme d'entonnoir, et convergent, dans le sens de sortie de la brame, en partant de l'entrée de la lingotière, au moins sur une partie de la hauteur de la lingotière, pour former un espace correspondant à l'épaisseur de la brame à couler. Cette lingotière comporte également deux entretoises qui forment les côtés étroits et sont bloquées entre les côtés longs, ainsi qu'un tube de coulée plongeur par l'intermédiaire duquel le métal liquide est introduit dans la lingotière. Sur la surface libre du métal liquide se trouvant dans la lingotière, à l'extérieur du tube plongeur de coulée, est appliqué un lubrifiant en une quantité satisfaisant au besoin de lubrification actuel de la brame, à des vitesses de coulée supérieures à 4 m/min, les surfaces des côtés étroits de la croûte des brames étant déformées de sorte que leur longueur horizontale ne soit pas modifiée d'une valeur supérieure à cinq fois la grandeur de retrait naturel de la brame.
