Description

The invention relates to an electric lighting lamp with a housing containing:
  • a direct current source comprising a plurality of batteries housed in a first compartment of the case,
  • a circuit for the electrical connection of the bulb, comprising power contacts electrically connected with the current source by means of a switch,
  • and a display cover comprising a reflector associated with a transparent screen for the emission of a light beam coming from the bulb during the excitation phase.

Torch-shaped lighting lamps generally have tubular envelopes of insulating or metallic material, having at the level of bottom, an orifice closable by a closing end piece. Commissioning of such a lamp requires the removal of the end fitting, followed by inserting the batteries through the bottom of the envelope. Switching on and off the bulb is then carried out by means of an integrated switch, which is actuated by the rotation of the ring when the latter arrives in a end position. The switch consists either of a semi-fixed contact cooperating directly with one of the terminals of the bulb, either by a support part displaceable in limited translation inside the envelope. The semi-fixed contact of the first device may be subject to problems oxidation likely to cause bad contacts and breakdowns ignition. The second known device is complicated, and is generally used for torches with metal envelopes.

A first object of the invention consists in producing a lighting lamp with reliable operation and simplified construction.

A second object of the invention consists in making a lamp universal fixing lighting, independent of the support, and allowing to quickly transform a headlamp into a lamp torch.

The lighting lamp according to the invention is characterized in that the bulb and the connection circuit are arranged on a barrel inserted in a circular housing in the front part of the case, and movable in rotation between a first rest position allowing access to the first compartment for inserting or removing batteries, and a second working position for switching on the bulb and closing the access to the first compartment. The barrel advantageously comprises a ramp cooperating with the batteries when moving to the second position to facilitate the arrival in engagement of the first contact and the second contact with the respective terminals of opposite polarities of said batteries.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the barrel further comprises a control button for the switch of the electrical connection circuit, said pusher being capable of being in an inactive position corresponding to the closed state of the switch when the second contact is pressing on one of the terminals, and an active position requesting the switch towards the open state following the separation of said terminal with the second contact.

The reflector has a stop intended to move the pusher from the inactive position to active position when the rotating ring on the hood arrives in said extreme position.

According to a preferred embodiment, the first contact and the second contact of the connection circuit are permanently connected electrical respectively with the metal base and the isolated terminal of the bulb. The pusher is arranged substantially in axial alignment with the batteries placed under the second contact., and the second contact has an orifice allowing passage of the pusher when it is requested to the active position by the reflector stop.

The two contacts remain in permanent electrical connection with the bulb, and the switch function is transferred to an offset area of the bulb, with creation of an isolation distance between the second contact and one of the Battery.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the barrel is formed by a body cylindrical of molded insulating material, comprising an intermediate wall perforated, separating the first rear battery compartment, with a second front compartment for housing the bulb and the reflector, said wall being provided with an opening allowing access to the first compartment in the first barrel rest position and after removing the cover, and closing off said access during movement of the barrel to the second working position.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the means of fixing include a plate intended to cooperate by latching with locking means provided in a blind hole of the housing, and arranged to constitute in position activates a positive locking of the plate, the passage of said means for locking from the active position to the position inactive requiring a manual unlocking command to uncouple the box from the plate. Locking means have a pair of holding buttons arranged on both opposite sides of the orifice and intended to block in said position activates two hooking lugs integral with the plate.

In FIGS. 1 to 10, an electric lighting lamp 10 includes a case 11 elongated in insulating material for housing batteries 12A, 12B; 12C, 12D, a barrel 14 equipped with an electrical connection circuit 16 of the bulb 18, and a display cover 20 comprising a reflector 22 and a transparent screen 24 for the transmission of the light beam emitted by the bulb 18 during its excitation.

The barrel 14 is formed by a cylindrical body 26 of molded insulating material, comprising a perforated partition wall 28, intended to subdivide the interior of the housing 11 in a first compartment 30 containing the batteries 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D and the connection device 16, and a second compartment 32 for housing the bulb 18 and the reflector 22.

With reference to FIGS. 4 to 6, the base of the bulb 18 is screwed into a insulating tubular sleeve 34 secured to one of the faces 36 of the wall 28. The other face 38 opposite the wall 28 carries the connection circuit 16, comprising a first electrical connection supply contact 40 permanent with the metal base of the bulb 18, and a second contact 42 supply in permanent electrical connection with terminal 44 isolated from bulb 18.

In FIGS. 6 and 8, the first contact 40 and formed by a copper strip of small thickness extending radially along the face 38 of the wall 28, by crossing the lateral surface of the sleeve 34 so as to come into engagement with the base of the bulb 18. The material of the metal blade can be copper, brass, bronze, or steel. The first contact 40 comprises in the middle zone a protuberance 46 intended to come into contact with the positive terminal 48 of a first series of two batteries 12A, 12B cylindrical stacked axially on the same column in the compartment 30.

The second contact 42 also extends in a radial direction along of the face 38 while being offset from the first fixed contact 40 by an angle predetermined about 90 °. The second contact 42 is wider than the first, and has an orifice 50 in which is arranged a pusher control 52 pivotally mounted on the wall 28 of the body 26. The second contact 42 has a boss 54 intended to come into engagement with the negative terminal 56 of a second series of two cylindrical 12C, 12D batteries extending in parallel with the first series of batteries 12A, 12B in the compartment 30 (Figures 7 and 9).

The two springs 58, 60 are produced by means of a conductive wire allowing the series of the four 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D batteries. Opposite the bottom 57, the housing 11 includes a circular housing 62 into which the barrel 14 is introduced, said housing being delimited by an end piece 64 with external thread on which is screwed the rotating ring 66 of the display cover 20 (Figure 1).

L'ampoule 18 s'étend dans l'alignement axial du barillet 14.Inside the housing 62, the barrel 14 is mounted with limited rotation, and is likely to occupy a first rest position authorizing the setting place or remove batteries 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D, and a second position of work for the lighting control of the lamp 10. The bulb 18 extends in the axial alignment of the barrel 14.

Le mouvement de rotation du barillet 14 vers la deuxième position permet un nettoyage automatique par frottement des contacts 40 et 42 sur les piles 12A et 12C.The first rest position is shown in Figure 2, in which the aperture 68 of the perforated wall 28 allows access to the compartment 30 for inserting or removing batteries. Going from the first position rest to the second working position is effected by a movement of rotation of a half-turn of the barrel 14 exerted manually in the direction of clockwise (Figure 3). This rotational movement of the barrel 14 is facilitated by the presence of an oblique ramp 70 (Figures 5 and 6) on the face 38 of the partition wall 28. The reaction of the ramp 70 on the batteries 12A, 12C causes a compression movement of the springs 58, 60 to ensure the contact pressure when the projection 46 of the first contact 40, and the boss 54 of the second contact 42 respectively come into contact on the positive terminal 48, and the negative terminal 56 of the batteries 12A, 12C. The rotational movement of the barrel 14 towards the second position allows a automatic cleaning by friction of contacts 40 and 42 on 12A batteries and 12C.

The control button 52 is formed by an elastic lever capable of be in an inactive position or in an active position depending of the translational travel of the reflector 22 during the rotation of the ring 66.

In the inactive position (Figure 7), the pusher 52 does not pass through the orifice 50 of the second contact 42, and the electric circuit supplying the bulb 18 is closed for lighting. The rotation of the ring 66 allows a focus adjustment to adjust the field of light beam emitted through the translucent screen 24. Such adjustment of the light beam is described in detail in document FR-A- 2,513,740.

The active position of the pusher 52 is obtained at the end of the screwing stroke of the ring 66 rotates when a stop of the reflector 22 moves the pusher 52 through the orifice 50 of the second contact 42 (Figure 10). The end of the pusher 52 causes a slight backward movement in the axial direction batteries 12C, 12D by compressing the spring 60. This results in an interruption of current in the electric circuit supplying the bulb 18, following the separation of the negative terminal 56 of the battery 12C with the second contact 42 of barrel 14.

The two contacts 40, 42 remain fixed and in permanent electrical connection with the metal base and the insulated terminal 44 of the bulb 18 when the pusher 52 is moved to the active position. The switch function is thus transferred to an offset zone in compartment 30, following the separation of the battery 12C and the boss 54 of the second contact 42.

The commissioning and operation of the lighting lamp 10 according to the invention are as follows:

Le capot de visualisation 20 est vissé partiellement sur l'embout 64 du boítier 11.The lamp 10 is factory fitted with the barrel 14 inserted in the housing 62 provided at the upper part of the insulating housing 11. The bulb 18 is screwed in the insulating sleeve 34 of the wall 28, and is in electrical connection with the two fixed contacts 40, 42 of the connection circuit 16 secured to the barrel 14. The display cover 20 is partially screwed onto the end piece 64 of the housing 11.

For putting the lamp into operation 10 or replacing the batteries used, the user unscrews the cover 20 beforehand, and actuates the barrel 14 rotatable to the rest position allowing access to compartment 30 of the housing 11 through the opening 68 of the partition wall 28. Then it suffices insert the batteries 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D (figure 2) through the opening 68, respecting the polarities and the electrical series connection of the batteries 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D. Note that the batteries are inserted via the front of the housing 11, the bottom 57 being completely closed and devoid of orifice closable.

In the first rest position of the barrel 14, the two contacts 40, 42 of the connection circuit 16 are not in engagement with the terminals respective batteries 12A, 12C, and the bulb 18 is permanently off independently of the position of the reflector 22, and of the open or closed state of the switch.

The two contacts 40, 42 come to bear on the terminals of the upper batteries 12A, 12C, which causes the contacts to be cleaned and the bulb 18 to be energized. Access to compartment 30 of the housing 11 is then prohibited, given that the opening 68 of the wall 28 is closed by an internal protuberance 72 of the case 11. The push button 52 for controlling the switch is permanently in the inactive position when the cover ring 66 is not coupled at the tip 64 of the housing 11.

The cover 20 is put in place by screwing the ring 66 onto the end piece 64, and the translational movement of the reflector 22 in a predetermined intermediate position allows to focus the field of light bleam. The stopper of the reflector 22 does not engage with the pusher 52, and the switch remains closed by maintaining the battery 12C biased against the second contact 42 by the spring return action 60 (figure 7).

Figure 9 is a view of the lamp 10 with an axial section through all the batteries 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D of the two columns. The switch is located in the closed state, and the two contacts 40, 42 are supported on the two 12A, 12C upper batteries.

Referring to Figure 10, the switch is switched to the open state at the end of the screwing race of the ring 66. The stop of the reflector 22 pushes the pusher 52 through the orifice 50 of the second contact 42, and moves the batteries 12C, 12D downwards against the restoring force of the spring 60. It an insulation gap results between the second contact 42, and the terminal 12C battery negative, with interruption of the power supply circuit the bulb 18. In this end of travel position, the bulb is off.

L'ouverture de l'interrupteur par l'actionnement du poussoir 52 s'exerce sensiblement dans l'axe de la pile 12C grâce au passage du poussoir 52 à travers l'orifice 50 du deuxième contact 42.The opening of the switch by actuation of the pusher 52 is exercised substantially in the axis of the stack 12C thanks to the passage of the pusher 52 to through the orifice 50 of the second contact 42.

The housing 11 could of course be made of a metallic material, especially based on aluminum. The polarity of the 12A and 12C batteries at the level contacts 40, 42 can of course be reversed, provided that the electrical serialization of all the batteries.

In Figures 11 to 14, the lower surface 127 of the housing 11 is with a blind orifice 130 delimited by a protuberance 132 internal from molding with the housing 11. The orifice 130 advantageously contains a reserve bulb 134, and locking means 136 for mounting the lamp on a fixing plate 138.

The locking means 136 comprise two buttons 140,142 holding arranged on the two opposite sides of the orifice 130, and cooperating inside the orifice 130 with a pin 144 metallic U-shaped.

The fixing plate 138 comprises a plate of insulating material molded, equipped with a positioning tab 146, and a pair 148.150 lugs for hanging the lamp 10 on the holding buttons 140, 142 of the plate 138.

Il en résulte un verrouillage positif de la lampe 10 sur la platine 138.In the hooked position (FIG. 13) of the plate 138, the two pins 148,150 are trapped in the holding buttons 140,142, which are biased towards an active position by the elastic return action of the pin 144. This results in a positive locking of lamp 10 on plate 138.

Plate 138 includes two grooves on the lateral sides 154,156 intended to receive a strap if the user wishes a use as a headlamp. The strap is fixed in this case around the head of the user, and the lamp is slightly protruding in the middle area above the head.

It is also possible to adapt the plate directly on a helmet, or any other mobile element, for example a bicycle.

To disconnect the lamp 10 from its mounting plate 138 (figure 12), it is necessary to push the buttons from outside 140,142 towards each other to obtain the unlocking of the pins 148,150 in the inactive position. The manual control of unlocking is carried out against the restoring force of the elastic pin 144, and requires a simultaneous push on the two buttons 140,142.

It is thus possible to quickly transform a headlamp as a flashlight after unlocking the mounting plate 138.

The bottom of the housing 11 is provided on the other hand with a closed ring 158 for the passage of a strap. In Figure 15, the strap 160 attached to the plate 138, advantageously crosses the ring 158 to make a wrist strap.
