Description

The present invention relates to a luminaire, in particular for public or industrial lighting, comprising a reflector body and a device socket holder intended to receive a light source removable from the reflector body.

Luminaires used in the field of public lighting or nowadays industrialists have to meet a double requirement, which is on the one hand to provide a perfectly controlled light distribution and on the other hand allow simplified installation and maintenance on site.

Advances in the geometry of reflectors, thanks in particular to the computer-aided design, made it possible to respond to this first requirement, by providing greater visual comfort and better use of energy. However, a very precise positioning of the light source vis-à-vis of its reflector is then necessary, which often requires placing the socket in a difficult-to-access part of the luminaire. Furthermore, the great precision required for positioning the source requires mounting sleeve mechanics on a support device which ensures a good hold mechanical and which is specifically adapted to the type of reflector for which it is associated.

However, this type of assembly tends to complicate interventions on site, especially when it comes to changing the light source or repairing electrical contacts at the socket.

This problem can be partly solved by using a device removable socket holder which then releases the socket with its source outside the confined space inside the reflector.

This luminaire has a reflector compartment, containing a socket holder and electrical circuit elements, the assembly being closed by a removable cover. The connection of the socket holder device to power is supplied by a connector block physically separate from the socket holder device, and connected thereto by a bundle of wires.

When it is necessary to remove the socket holder from the reflective compartment, for example to change the light source or to clean the electrical contacts, it must first be disconnected, not only for safety reasons, but also to avoid damaging the supply circuits. For this reason, the luminaire has a switch arranged to operate automatically when the cover is removed.

However, there is a risk of inadvertent closure of the switch by a foreign element, such as a tool, accidentally deposited on the switch during an intervention. This risk is all the more serious as the light sources in this type of luminaire are powered by cycles high voltage ignition, of the order of a few kilovolts, which are present at each ignition, and especially during the change of the light source.

Furthermore, the separation between the socket holder device of its electrical connection assembly tends to complicate the assembly of the luminaire and requires a minimum of accessibility to this effect, which affects the compactness of the whole.

Pour un exemple de luminaire correspondant sensiblement au préambule de la revendication 1, référence peut être faite au document FR-A-1 450 136.For an example of a luminaire corresponding substantially to the preamble of claim 1, reference may be made to document FR-A-1 450 136.

Thus, an object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a luminaire intended for public or industrial lighting comprising a reflector body, a removable socket holder device, a socket mounted on the socket holder device, means for mechanically fixing the socket-holder device on the reflector body, allowing the mounting and dismounting of the socket-holder device, and means for electrical connection of the socket-holder device, comprising a fixed connector on the reflector body and a connector dependent on the socket-holder device, the connector dependent on the socket-holder device being rigidly secured to the latter, said electrical connection means and said mechanical fastening means cooperating so as to ensure electrical connection and disconnection between the two connectors respectively by the mechanical assembly and disassembly action of the dou-holder device it in relation to the reflector body,
characterized in that the electrical connection means of the socket (70) establish a connection on three conductors, making it possible respectively to connect the light source (71) with the phase and the neutral, and to activate the supply of a high power supply voltage towards the light source, the electrical connection means comprising three pairs of contact elements (84a-c, 64a-c), each comprising a contact element (84a-c) at the level of the fixed connector (80) and a contact element (64a-c) at the connector (60) depending on the socket-holder device, and in that the pair of respective contact elements (84b, 64b) of the fixed connector of the reflector body (10) and of the connector integral with the socket-holder device which activates the supply of the high-voltage supply is configured differently from the other pairs of contact elements (84a, 64a, 84c, 64c) so that the activation of the supply of the high voltage supply su ccede to the establishment of connections with the phase and the neutral during the mechanical mounting of the socket-holder device, and that the deactivation of the supply of the high voltage supply precedes the interruption of said connections with the phase and the neutral during the disassembly of the socket holder device.

This not only provides more security, but ensures the proper functioning of the luminaire when it uses a circuit automatic ignition which counts the high voltage pulses from of the establishment of the circuit with supply of the light source by the phase and neutral.

In all cases, and whatever the type of circuit used, the design of the internal connectors of the luminaire ensures the most natural and safe way that the removal of the socket holder device the electrical disconnection of the socket automatically. The operator can then work safely to change the light source or to perform maintenance operations.

Furthermore, the electrical connection by the respective connectors of the reflector body of the socket-holder device eliminates the need for wires connection dependent on the socket holder device, which facilitates the removal of this last completely out of the reflector body. It also allows you to mount the socket on the socket holder in a pre-adjusted position before installation on site, for example in the factory. The installation of the assembly on the reflector block then requires only one mechanical mounting operation.

Preferably, the mechanical fixing means operate by a rotational movement of the socket holder device relative to the body reflector, for example by means of a bayonet type mounting.

This assembly is particularly convenient to handle and allows possibly form an excellent quality seal between the socket holder device and its housing in the reflector body.

The socket-holder device can be housed in an opening made in a surface portion of the reflector, which facilitates manufacture and ensures precise mounting of the device in relation to the reflective surfaces.

When it is necessary to ensure a good seal between the reflector and the socket holder device, the latter is adapted to close said socket opening with interposition of a seal.

In a particularly advantageous configuration of the luminaire, the means for mechanically mounting it on an external support are arranged at a first end of the reflector body, while the opening is situated towards a second end of the reflector body at the opposite of the first end.
The socket holder device is then introduced into the opening from the outside of the reflector, making it possible to intervene at the level of the light source and its connections without being hindered by the mechanical fixing elements on the luminaire support.

In addition, the housing of the socket holder device opposite the area fixture allows a more rational use of space around of the reflector, which results in an improvement in the compactness of the luminaire.

According to another aspect of the invention, the socket holder device includes means for adjusting the position of the socket in the direction of its main axis.

This adjustment of the position of the socket is particularly advantageous to allow the luminaire to adapt to different conditions of use, both at the level of the area to be lit only technical characteristics of the source light or reflector. On the industrial level, this flexibility allows the use of the same parts to satisfy different operating cases, hence results from production savings.

The socket holder device may further comprise means for adjusting the position of the socket perpendicular to its main axis in the direction of approach and away from the top of the reflector, allowing a additional adjustment of the light source.

According to the invention, it is also possible to provide the socket holder device means for adjusting the orientation of the main axis of the sleeve.

This arrangement allows an additional adjustment compared to the aforementioned settings, which is useful inter alia when the luminaire is equipped with a basin with a shallow depth, even a flat bottom. In this case, it is indeed useful to be able to orient the main axis of the socket relative to the bottom of the basin for housing the lamp in relation to the basin.

The luminaire can be fitted with a removable basin depending on a lower part of the reflector body and a hinged cover on the body frame reflector. The cover covers the outer surface of the reflector body as well access to the socket holder device, and includes a closure device located at its free end and which, in the closed position of the cover, exerts a force of support on a portion of edge of the basin to ensure the maintenance of this one.

Thus, it is possible to disassemble the basin simply by disengaging the hood closing device, which allows easily on site changes of basin and its seal.

The modularity of the luminaire elements can be further increased by providing for mounting of the reflector body on a frame portion of the body reflector by latching devices.

The luminaire shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 comprises a frame of reflector body 10 carrying a reflector body 30 which defines a compartment closed 12 with a transparent bowl 14. A socket holder 40, mounted in the reflector body, on the front side 10a of the frame of the reflector body, projects towards the rear inside the compartment 12. A socket 70 carrying a source light 71 is mounted on the socket holder 40.

On the side of its rear end 10b, the chassis of the reflector body 10 is mounted on a support mast 90 through which the luminaire is connected to a external energy source. The end of the mast 90 engages in a sleeve 92 blocked on the mast by means of a bolt 94. The reflector body 10 is fixed to the sleeve 92 by means of a bolt 96 which passes through a lumen 16a formed at top of a cylindrical wall portion 16 behind the reflector body. This layout provides a range of adjustment for the overall tilt of the body reflector with respect to the support mast.

The basin 14, provided with a U-section seal 24 in which its rim is engaged, is mounted in a housing of the rim 22 of the body reflector. In the example illustrated, the basin 14 is a flat glass plate. It could be hollow, as shown in broken lines in Figure 1. The flange 22 of the reflector body is locked on the lower part of the chassis 10 of the reflector body by compressing the seal 24. The locking is carried out at the by means of several latching members 26 comprising spring leaves 26a, integral with the frame of the reflector body which snap into housings 26b formed on a rim 18a surrounding the opening 18 formed at the part bottom of the reflector body (Figure 3).

The reflector body 30 includes a convex reflecting wall 30a provided at the front with a cylindrical sleeve 32 which surrounds an opening 32a to through which the socket holder 40 engages (in FIGS. 2 and 3, the socket holder is omitted, as well as the socket and the light source). As shown in Figure 3, another reflector 35 can be mounted inside the existing reflector 30, this first being locked on the rim 18a of the reflector body by means of several latching devices 34. Each latching device comprises a leaf spring 34a which is carried by a male part integral with the body of reflector and snaps into a housing 34b formed in a female part integral with the reflector body 30. This arrangement allows in particular to assemble reflectors specific to each type of application on bodies of universal reflector. Furthermore, the use of latching devices is particularly well suited to robotic assembly lines.

The upper part of the reflector body chassis is closed by a cover 36 articulated around an axis located towards the rear end 10b of the chassis of the reflector body (the cover is omitted in Figure 2). In the open position (raised), as shown in broken lines in Figure 1, the cover 36 leaves access to the socket holder 40 through the opening 32a. In the closed position, the cover 36 is locked by means of an articulated hook 38 which is located at the front of the cover and engages in a housing 23 at the front end of the rim 22 of the body reflector.

The socket holder 40, with the socket 70, as well as its mounting and its electrical connection will now be described in more detail with reference especially in Figures 4 to 7.

The socket holder assembly 40 in the sleeve 32 of the body reflector is bayonet type.

Un joint d'étanchéité torique 48 est logé entre la nervure 46 et l'embase 42.The socket holder 40 comprises a base 42 extended by a ring cylindrical 44 and a support 50 in the form of a cradle with a U-shaped cross section. ring 44 carries at its periphery a continuous annular rib 46 and a series of ribs 47 in the form of arcs located on the same circumference. A joint O-ring seal 48 is housed between the rib 46 and the base 42.

Le joint 48, avec le joint 24, assure l'étanchéité du compartiment 12.The socket holder is engaged through the sleeve 32 and the opening 32a from outside the reflector body, the cover 36 being open. Sleeve 32 carries on its internal surface a series of ribs 33 in the form of arcs located on a same circumference. When inserting the socket holder 40, parallel to its longitudinal axis, each rib 47 is engaged in an interval between two ribs 33. Then, by rotation of the socket holder, the ribs 33 come each house in the interval between a rib 47 and the rib 46 making a fitting of the socket holder by bayonet type fixing. The seal 48 is then compressed between the base 42, the rib 46 and the end of the sleeve 32. The seal 48, with the seal 24, seals the compartment 12.

The insertion or release positions of the socket holder and locking thereof are defined by the contacts between an integral stop 49 of the reflector body and the ends of a notch 43 formed in the base 42 (figure 6).

The socket 70 is integral with a plate 72 provided with ears 74 by which it rests on the edges of the cradle 50. These are provided with slots 52 in which the ears engage 74 and which define as many possible positions of the socket 70 relative to the socket holder in the direction longitudinal of the cradle 50. The position of the light source in the direction of the main axis of the reflector can thus be adjusted between two extreme positions shown in solid lines and broken lines in Figure 1.

The cradle 50 has at its base a longitudinal lumen 54 through which passes a screw 56 which is screwed into the plate 72 to fix the socket 70 on the socket holder in the desired position.

The sleeve 70 is provided with lugs 76 for its fixing by means of screw-nuts in two lights 78 of the plate 72. The lights 78 are oriented from so as to allow adjustment of the socket in a more or less position away from the top of the reflector 30 in a direction perpendicular to its axis main.

A cet effet, les oreilles 74 présentent deux parties opposées 74a, 74b susceptibles chacune de s'engager sans jeu dans un créneau 52.Advantageously, the plate 72, with the socket 70, can be mounted on the cradle 50 in either of two positions offset from each other by 180 ° rotating around the main axis of the socket. For this purpose, the ears 74 have two opposite parts 74a, 74b each capable of engaging without game in a slot 52.

As shown in Figure 5, the ear 74 is in an inclined plane at an angle a with respect to the plane normal to the main axis of the sleeve 70. Thus, depending on whether the plate is mounted in a position or in the reverse position, the main axis of the socket has a first or a second inclination different from each other with respect to the longitudinal direction of the cradle 50. In this way, the light source can be more or less distant from the basin 14. In particular, it is possible to choose a position of the socket for which the end of the light source is closer to the reflector when the basin is flat and limits the space available for the light source (see FIG. 1) .

This tilt adjustment of the socket, in combination with the position settings offered by the lights 78 and by the slots 52, allows a adaptation to different shapes of reflectors and sinks.

The light source is supplied with power by connection between a connector 60 secured to the socket holder 40 and to which the socket 70 is connected by conductors 68, and a connector 80 secured to the body reflector and to which leads a power cable 88 (Figure 1) for connection to a priming circuit (not shown).

Ces contacts mâles coopèrent avec des contacts femelles respectifs 84a, 84b, 84c du connecteur 80.The connector 60 is carried at the end of an arm 62 integral with the base 42 on the side thereof opposite to that provided with the ring 44 and the cradle 50. The connector 60 comprises three male contacts 64a, 64b, 64c intended for supply the light source with phase, neutral and output respectively high voltage of the ignition circuit. These male contacts cooperate with respective female contacts 84a, 84b, 84c of connector 80.

Male contacts are oriented parallel to the direction tangential to their trajectory during the rotation of the arm 62 caused by the mounting or dismounting the bayonet fitting of the socket holder. To hold account for the fact that the displacement of the male contacts is not exactly straight, the block constituting the connector 80 can be made of a material elastically deformable.

To avoid any accidental disconnection that could cause vibrations, for example, a boss 36a depending on the cover 36 bears against the base 42, at the end of the arm 62 where the connector 60 is located, when the cover is in the closed position (Figure 1).

Ceci est réalisé par exemple en conférant au contact mâle correspondant 64b une longueur inférieure à celle des deux autres contacts mâles 64, 64c, les contacts femelles étant identiques (figure 7).Preferably, the contacts are made so that the supply high voltage is established last during connection and interrupted first when disconnecting. This is done for example by conferring on male contact corresponding 64b to a length less than that of the other two male contacts 64, 64c, the female contacts being identical (Figure 7).

It will also be noted that the connector 60 is arranged inside a housing 66 at the end of the arm 62, housing whose wall surrounds the contacts males. The housing 66 is accessible through an opening in which engages block 80 carrying the female contacts. The latter is provided at its periphery with a sealing lip 86 which cooperates with the wall of the housing 66 to isolate the protect them from dirt and moisture when the connection is established.

The electrical operation of the connection means according to the invention will now be explained with reference to Figures 8 and 9. These figures represent two examples of supply circuit and connection of the source luminous 71 of the luminaire. The two circuits shown include the same elements and differ only at the interconnection level.

In the two figures, the electrical connection of the source light 71 with male connection elements 64a-64c and female 84a-84c of Figure 7 is shown schematically. Source power light 71 by phase P and neutral N operates respectively by pairs of elements 64a, 84a and 64c, 84c. Conventionally, the external supply of the network is conditioned by a 100 factor correction capacitor power (cos phi) connected between phase P and neutral N, and a ballast 102 connected in series between the external supply of phase P and the elements of contacts 64a, 84a of the light source 71.

A priming circuit 104 is provided in the supply circuit for create high voltage pulses when starting the light source 71. Priming circuit 104 is supplied in phase and neutral on inputs 104a and 104b respectively. It emits the pulses on an output 104c which is connected directly at the arrival of the phase on the female contact element 84a, this also being connected to ballast 102.

The priming circuit 104 can be timed, sending the pulses for a limited time from the moment it is supplied, this time being fixed either by a clock or by a pulse counter. However, the circuit priming can be of the simple type, without delay.

In the assembly of figure 8, the phase supply of the circuit priming 104 is provided by a bypass 102a on the ballast winding 102. The connection of the ignition circuit to neutral is made through the pair contact elements 64b, 84b. Male contact element 64b is wired directly on the male contact element 64c which supplies the neutral of the source bright. Thus, the contact element 64b is in the presence of the neutral only when the male contact element 64c is connected to the female contact element 84c, which is itself directly connected with the network neutral.

Connection and disconnection of the circuit supply 104 by neutral are carried out respectively after and before the connection of light source 71 to neutral N. This sequential connection is achieved by the difference in configuration of the contact elements 64b, 84b of the connection of the ignition circuit 104 to neutral, with respect to the other peers contact elements (64a, 84a or 64c, 84c) ensuring the supply in phase and in light source neutral.

In the example, the configuration difference is achieved by making the male contact element 64b shorter than the other male contact elements 64a, 64c, while keeping the same geometry for the other connection parts.

Le fonctionnement du circuit d'alimentation et la connexion séquentielle seront maintenant expliqués en référence à la figure 8.The functioning of the supply circuit and the connection sequential will now be explained with reference to Figure 8.

We will take as source situation the disconnection of the source light 71 (by dismantling the socket holder device 40) while it is lit for some time, the priming circuit 104 is therefore at rest. During the sequential disconnection, the priming circuit 104 is disconnected in first, by removing the male connection element 64b from the element female connection 84b, but the light source 71 remains momentarily on. Then the light source is disconnected, but at this time the circuit does not send high voltage pulses to the contact elements supply phase 64a, 84a. Staff safety is thus ensured.

We will now take the disconnection of the light source 71 in off state. We assume that the extinct state comes from the fact that the priming circuit 104 has failed to start the light source 71 during its cycle of sending high voltage pulses. This is the symptom classic of the end of life of the light source, requiring its replacement.

Upon disconnection, the priming circuit 104 is disconnected by first, as previously explained. This disconnection has the effect initialize the accounting of high voltage pulses in the circuit and deactivate it. Then, the light source 71 is disconnected in the absence of any high voltage source.

When a new light source is installed, the contacts between elements 64a, 84a and 64c, 84c are established first. Contact between elements 64b, 84b is then carried out and activates the priming circuit 104. Thus, the high voltage pulses will only be transmitted once the new source light is connected.

Le courant dans le contacts 64b, 84b est très faible (de l'ordre de quelques dizaines de milliampères).Note that an un-primed light source behaves as an open circuit, and therefore there is no current in the contacts 64a, 84a, 64c, 84c at the time of connection. The current in contacts 64b, 84b is very low (of the order of a few tens of milliamps).

Thus, the present sequential connection makes it possible to intervene on site by perfect safety in all operating cases, and always in ensuring the restarting of the priming circuit.

It should be noted in the provisions of the prior art, the replacement of a used light source with a new one was not accompanied necessarily reignition thereof, the priming circuit not being automatically re-initialized. In this way, it often happened that the circuit is incorrectly diagnosed as faulty, because its replacement by a new circuit (and therefore initialized) started the light source. However, the priming circuit simply had not been reset and was returned to the supplier as faulty part.

The arrangement of the contacts of the contacts therefore performs a reinitialization of the ignition circuit at the time of disconnection under voltage and, moreover, the sequence of contacts avoids the application of high voltage at the time of contact establishment.

The circuit of Figure 9 differs from that of Figure 8 essentially by the fact that the priming circuit 104 is supplied directly at the output of the ballast 102, and is therefore connected in series between the ballast and the phase contacts 64a, 84a of the light source 71. In this type of assembly, use is made generally initiation circuits 104 which do not count the number or the duration of the high voltage pulses.

However, even in this case, the sequential connection according to the invention still provides the benefit of the safety of maintenance personnel in due to the absence of high voltage during connection or disconnection of the socket holder 40.

The invention is in no way limited to the embodiment which comes to be described, but allows many variations.

For example, the mechanical fixing of the socket holder 40 can be performed by screwing on a fraction of a turn, rather than by a mounting of the type bayonet.

It is also possible to modify the arrangement of these means of fixing so that the assembly and disassembly of the socket holder 40 takes place according to a straight path in the direction of insertion. In this case, the socket holder 40 can be retained in the reflector body 30 by snap-fastening or by connection between male and female elements. Contacts of electrical connectors will then be aligned in the direction of insertion of the socket holder.

Furthermore, the adjustment of the longitudinal position of the bushing may be made by mounting the socket in a slide of the socket holder along which the sleeve can be moved and tightened by any means known to man of career.
