Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a device is known from WO-A-9402208.
According to the relevant building regulations, buildings are usually divided into individual fire-resistant fire sections. Such fire compartment partitions consist of space-enclosing fire-resistant components, such as. B. walls or ceilings.
Openings must be provided in the fire compartment partitions if this is necessary for operational reasons. These openings initially cancel the fire-resistant room closure by separating the fire compartments. It is therefore necessary to automatically close the openings in the event of a fire with special fire protection closures must have the same protective effect as the fire compartment partitions themselves. Such fire protection closures are known in the form of rigid flaps, swing doors or sliding elements which are moved in front of the opening in the event of a fire. With these constructions, a considerable amount of space is required in the area of the openings. These sealing elements also have a considerable weight, so that the overall construction is very stable and heavy. The drive and locking systems are relatively complicated to ensure the closing and opening functions prescribed by the building authorities.
Fire protection closures for closing openings through which pipes pass are also known. Devices are used here by which the pipes are separated in the event of a fire in a complicated and technically complex manner in order to be able to move the fire protection element in front of the opening.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a device for the refractory closing of an opening in a fire compartment separation in a building with a refractory element which can be pushed in front of the opening in the event of a fire and which takes up little space, has a low weight and requires a simple drive system and is inexpensive to manufacture.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the device according to the invention result from the subclaims.
Characterized in that the refractory element consists of a circumferential band, which has at least two holes corresponding to the openings in the fire separation, which are normally aligned with the opening opposite each other, and which are pushed out of the area of coverage of the opening in the event of fire, the space (parking space) required for the element in the normal position can be kept extremely small. The element can for example consist of sheet metal or a fire-resistant textile or ceramic fabric. In order to withstand the fire for a prescribed duration, the sheet on the side facing away from the fire side can be cooled by a cooling device. The textile or ceramic fabric can also carry additional materials that protect against the effects of fire on one or both sides, which do not or only insignificantly impair the flexibility of the refractory element.
The cooling device for cooling the sheet advantageously has a material which contains chemically bound water, which is released and evaporated in the event of a fire.

In a building wall 1, an opening 2 is provided, for example, for the passage of transported goods. In front of this opening 2 there is a fire protection closure fastened to the wall 1 with a box-shaped housing 3 which completely surrounds the opening 2. The housing 3 consists of thin sheet metal and has holes 4 on opposite sides which are aligned with the opening 2, so that the passage of the goods through the housing 3 is not impaired.
The housing 3 is lined on the inside with insulating plates 5, which are very strongly water-containing. The water is chemically bound, such as in plasterboard. Under the action of heat in the event of a fire, the chemically bound water is released and can evaporate, so that the insulating plates 5 exert a strong cooling effect on their surroundings in the event of a fire. The insulating plates 5 are designed in their mass and nature so that the water balance available for cooling is adapted to the fire resistance duration required in each case.
The housing 3 lined with the insulating plates 5 forms a cavity 6 in which the actual fire protection closure is accommodated.
The opening 2 is closed by a circumferential metal strip 7, the opposite running sections of which lie parallel to the opening 2 at a mutual distance. In the sheet metal strip 7 two holes are cut the size of the holes 4 and the opening 2, which are spaced from one another in the longitudinal direction of the sheet metal strip 7 such that they are in a certain position (normal position or open position) in the two opposing sections opposite and aligned with the opening 2 or the holes 4, so that they also do not interfere with the passage of the goods in this position. The distance between the holes 8 is at least as large as the width of the opening 2 in the circumferential direction of the metal strip 7.
The sheet metal strip 7 is guided over two deflection rollers 9, which are located on opposite sides of the opening 2. The deflecting rollers 9 each have a ring of cams 10 on the outer edges, which engage in slots 11 punched out on the longitudinal edges of the metal strip 7. This creates a positive connection through which the sheet metal strip 7 can be guided and also moved over the deflection rollers 9. For this purpose, one of the deflection rollers 9 is connected to a drive which can be triggered in a known manner in the event of a fire. The deflection rollers 9 are adjustably arranged on a carrier system, which in turn is fastened in the housing 3.
In order to avoid bending or warping of the sheet metal strip 7 during the movement, it is preferably guided laterally. This guidance can be done by a support or by a chain. The chain runs parallel to the edge of the sheet metal strip 7 and is in engagement with it, so that the sheet metal strip 7 can also be driven via the chain.
The operation of the device described above is as follows. In the normal operating state, the metal strip 7 is positioned so that there is a free passage of the fire section from one side to the other. When a fire is detected, one of the deflection rollers 9 is rotated by a mechanical closing drive so far that the sheet metal strip 7 which has been taken along reaches a position in which the holes 8 have completely moved out of the area of coverage of the opening 2, so that they run in opposite directions through the two Sections of the metal strip 7 is hermetically sealed.
The device is designed so that the opening 2 can be closed and opened by the sheet metal strip 7 without great effort and with little wear and tear, without a fire occurring.
Between the two oppositely running sections of the sheet metal strip 7, a cooling device made of a sealing block is arranged on both sides of the opening 2 and, like the insulating plates 5, consists of a material containing water in chemically bound form and releasing it when exposed to heat. The sealing block 12 becomes the space 13 in front of the opening 2 between the two opposite running sections of the sheet metal strip 7 completed by a perforated plate 14. In the event of a fire, the water vapor generated by the release and evaporation of water flows out of the sealing block 12 through the openings in the perforated plate 14 into the space 13, as a result of which the sheet metal strip 7 closing the opening 2 is cooled for a predetermined duration on the side facing away from the fire side. As a result, the resistance of the sheet metal strip 7 to the fire attack is strengthened and a lowering of the temperature is achieved on the side facing away from the fire side.
For an improved and more targeted delivery of water vapor from the sealing block 12 and the insulating plates 5, these are interspersed with fine bores 15 which open in the direction of the room 13. Since the outflow of water vapor can reach a temperature of several hundred degrees due to the action of the fire, the pressure rises accordingly. The holes 15 therefore also serve to relieve pressure.
Between the sheet metal strip 7 and the insulating plates 5, adjacent to the space 13, guide plates 16 made of metal are provided, which serve to prevent abrasion of the low-wear insulating plates 5 by the sheet metal strip 7. Behind the guide plates 16 there are strips 17 made of refractory material that foams up when exposed to heat. In the normal state, these strips 17 have no contact with the sheet metal strip 7. In the event of a fire, however, their volume increases so that they press against the sheet metal strip 7 moved into its closed position and a secure seal between the hot fire side in the area of the opening 2 and the cavity 6 in which the pulleys 9 and their storage are housed.
The entire construction of the fire protection closure is screwed together with bolts 18 and nuts 19. The carrier 20 for the deflecting rollers 9 is also connected to this screw connection.
In the illustrated embodiment, a pipe 21 is flanged on both sides of the wall 1, so that the fire protection closure shown can also be used for pneumatic conveying systems for transporting suspended matter. The present construction is particularly suitable for these, since there are no unevenness in the passage due to the small dimensions or thickness of the metal strip 7. These can lead to sediment deposits, which can prevent the fire protection closure from closing in the event of a fire.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the refractory element consists of a fabric band 22 made of textile or ceramic material. This fabric band 22 works without water vapor cooling. It can be used alone if necessary; however, in most cases it is used as a carrier material for so-called protective beads 23, 24. FIG. 6 shows protective beads 23 attached to the outside of the fabric strip 22 and protective beads 24 attached to the inside of the fabric strip 22, which can be provided individually or together. The protective beads 23, 24 are attached to the fabric tape 22 using commercially available materials. They are constructed and arranged in such a way that they are without mutual hindrance or disability can be performed by the pulleys 9 on this.
The outside caterpillars 23 can consist of sheet metal bodies filled with insulating material. They can also be made of a refractory material that foams when exposed to heat and thereby represent a closed protective shield.
The caterpillars 24 attached on the inside must consist of a refractory material which foams very strongly even with relatively little heat (> 120 ° C.). The foaming takes place inwards, so that the entire space 13 between the opposing band sections is filled with foam 25. This is a very effective protection against the effects of heat.
In a further embodiment, a deflecting roller and the refractory band can contain a pipe feed, via which, in the event of fire, the room 13 has a pourable insulating material, e.g. B. expanded mica is supplied. Via a shut-off device in the pipe feed, which opens automatically when exposed to heat, the insulating material slips out of a container through corresponding passages in the deflection roller and in the refractory band into the space 13 between the band sections and insulates them fire-resistant.
