- the hot air arriving through the pipe 7 in the drum follows a "short-circuit" path between the pipe 7 and the pipe 6, that is to say that it runs along the side wall of the drum 2 close to the pipe 7, barely crossing the linen 8 which is too compacted to provide passage for this hot air.
- the "pipe” 9 has a diameter which depends on the speed of rotation of the drum, and which is equal to or slightly greater than the diameter of the pipe 7.
- the drying of the laundry is improved and decreases the drying time for an equal degree of drying, and therefore the consumption of electrical energy is also reduced.
- the pieces of laundry near the pipe 9 are much less subject to centrifugal force than those that are furthest from this pipe, and can move relative to other pieces of laundry, migrating from the axis towards the periphery of the drum, thus ensuring a mixing of laundry and improving the uniformity of drying.
- the speed of rotation of the drum in the drying regime is not kept constant. It can vary in stages or gradually around the improved drying speed, between two limits which are for example 35 t / mm and about 100 t / mm, and can alternately increase and decrease between these two limits.
- short breaks can be provided during the drying phase, allowing the laundry to fall to the bottom of the drum when it stops, and to be distributed differently when the drum resumes its rotation.
- the different speed levels or the different rotation speeds of the drum can correspond to different stages of drying of the laundry: start, middle and end of drying, and cooling of the laundry. At each stop, the drum can change the direction of rotation, so as not to tangle the laundry, to promote uniformity of drying and to limit wrinkling of this laundry.

Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is an improved method of drying linen and a machine using it.
In most current washer-dryer or drying machines, hot air is injected into the center of the drum and must exit through the periphery of this drum. However, quite often, the laundry aggregates into a pile which closes the center of the drum during the drying phase, thus preventing the normal entry of hot air into the drum, as well as the correct evacuation of air. hot having been able to penetrate into the center of the drum, and which goes through a "short circuit", that is to say immediately leaves the drum by crossing the minimum of linen.
The subject of the present invention is a method making it possible to improve the drying of the linen of a washer-dryer or drying machine, by reducing, at equal efficiency, the drying time, and this, as simply as possible. The present invention also relates to a machine implementing the method of the invention.
The method of the invention consists, in the drying phase of the laundry, of rotating the drum at an "improved drying" speed slightly lower than the speed of centrifugation of its contents. Advantageously, this speed is between 65 and 70 revolutions / mm approximately.
According to an advantageous aspect of the process of the invention, the drying phase comprises several stages, during each of which the speed of rotation of the drum is different from one stage to the next, advantageously by alternating stages at higher speed, at equal speed and at a speed lower than the speed of "improved drying". In the same drying step, the speed can vary, for example, from a minimum speed of approximately 35 to 50 t / mm to a maximum speed of approximately 70 to 100 t / mm.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 are respectively a schematic side view and a schematic top view of a washer-dryer machine of the prior art in the laundry drying phase, and
- Figures 3 and 4 are respectively a schematic side view and a schematic top view of a washer-dryer machine according to the invention, in the laundry drying phase.
The present invention relates to washing-drying machines as well as to only drying machines, these machines possibly being front-loading or top-loading. To simplify, in the following description, they will only be called machines.
The
In a machine of the prior art (FIGS. 1 and 2), the drum rotates, in drying mode, at the same speed as in washing or rinsing mode (in the case of a washing machine), which simplifies the control of the drum drive motor. This has the effect, when the quantity of laundry to be dried is such that this laundry fills at least half of the drum (when the latter is stopped), to gather the
On the other hand, thanks to the process of the invention (FIGS. 3 and 4) according to which the drum is rotated, in the drying phase, at a speed of "improved drying" lower than the speed of centrifugation of its content, depending on the diameter of the drum, typically about 65 to 70 t / mm, the
According to an advantageous aspect of the process of the invention, the speed of rotation of the drum in the drying regime is not kept constant. It can vary in stages or gradually around the improved drying speed, between two limits which are for example 35 t / mm and about 100 t / mm, and can alternately increase and decrease between these two limits. Advantageously, short breaks can be provided during the drying phase, allowing the laundry to fall to the bottom of the drum when it stops, and to be distributed differently when the drum resumes its rotation. The different speed levels or the different rotation speeds of the drum can correspond to different stages of drying of the laundry: start, middle and end of drying, and cooling of the laundry. At each stop, the drum can change the direction of rotation, so as not to tangle the laundry, to promote uniformity of drying and to limit wrinkling of this laundry.
