Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to motor vehicle headlamps fitted in particular with lamps dump.
- a projector is equipped with a lamp with filament powered by the DC voltage supplied by the battery of the vehicle.
- Another technique is to use a mirror specific design, capable of generating a beam by itself clear cut.
- This cache is designed simply based on the source, without take into account any parasitic sources produced by the reflection of radiation from the main source on adjacent parts of the lamp.
- the present invention aims to solve this same type disadvantage in the context of a lamp likely to present parasitic sources and including by itself means for obscuring part of the radiation from the source towards determined areas of the mirror, these means possibly including two opaque zones in the form of bands provided on the bulb and intended to favor the obtaining of a clean cut.
- a type particular such blackout bands appears especially in CH-A-487,366, which also discloses the preamble of claims 1 and 4.
- the present invention more specifically aims to propose a new masking or concealment device that reduces substantial part of glare from stray sources mentioned above, all while causing a minimal reduction in the luminous flux efficient, effectively participating in beam formation luminous.
- the present invention proposes, according to a first aspect, a motor vehicle headlamp as defined in the claim 1.
- the invention provides a lamp for motor vehicle headlamp as defined in the claim 4.
- FIGS. 5 to 10 The exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 10 does not, however, form part of the present invention.
- FIG. 1 a projector motor vehicle with gas discharge lamp 10 mounted in a mirror 20.
- the lamp has, in a bulb or glass envelope 12 generally cylindrical in shape, coaxial with the axis optical x-x of the mirror, two electrodes 14a, 14b between which can be primed and maintained by order appropriate electrical, a bright electric arc constituting the light source S of the projector.
- the front electrode 14b is connected to the base 15 of the lamp by a conductor 16 comprising a branch descending 16a and a generally horizontal branch 16b, extending below the bulb and parallel to the x-x axis, up to the base.
- This horizontal branch of the conductor 16 is surrounded by a ceramic sleeve 17, so classic.
- the lamp 10 also includes a light cover direct 18 connected to the base 15 of the lamp by a support appropriate (not shown) that is processed to minimize stray reflections on it.
- bulb 12 of the lamp conventionally in itself, has two opaque areas 12a, 12b intended to obscure the radiation coming from the source S and which would go to two specific areas of the mirror.
- These opaque areas are here in the form of bands extending parallel to the axis of the lamp, and are preferably made of applying an opaque paint on the bulb.
- one of these zones Z1 covers, to the left of the lamp in front view, a sector between a horizontal half-plane P1 and a P2 half-plane inclined at 25 ° below the horizontal.
- the other of these zones Z2 covers, to the right of the lamp in front view, a sector between a half-plane P3 inclined at 15 ° below the horizontal and a half-plane P4 inclined at 40 ° under the horizontal.
- This particular embodiment is not of course not to be considered as limiting.
- the mirror 20 is in this case a mirror capable of produce by itself, without the intervention of a cup, a standardized European passing beam, by a specific design as described in a certain number of earlier patents in the name of the Applicant.
- the masking carried out by the bands 12a, 12b is intended to perfect the beam light produced by the mirror, by dimming the light in certain areas of the beam and in particular the light susceptible, by surface imperfections reflective, to overflow above the cut.
- FIG. 2 also shows the conductor 16b provided with its sleeve 17.
- the reflection of the light from source S on this sleeve makes it constitutes a parasitic light source S ', illuminating mostly upwards and to the sides.
- This parasitic source in cooperation with the mirror, is susceptible - by its position below the source S - to give rise in the generated beam to a quantity significant light above the cut sought.
- Such a lamp can also give rise to other types of parasitic sources, and in particular to a source S " linked to the presence of salts inside the envelope 12 or electrodes 14a, 14b.
- FIG. 3 we have represented a lamp according to the invention, with which two occulters whose vocation is to intercept a part substantial radiation from the stray source and who would go to the mirror, and who have for characteristic of being placed in the two shadow zones Z1 and Z2 caused by the opaque bands 12a, 12b. Of the so these occulters have no influence on the light emitted by the source S, and therefore on the beam generated by the mirror from said source. Furthermore, by obscuring most of the radiation from the source parasitic and likely to meet the mirror, they avoid that this radiation generates in the beam of the light above the cut.
- the occulters are in the form of plates planes 13a, 13b, for example metallic, which extend substantially radially from the bulb 12 on a extent at least equal to, and preferably greater than, that of the parasitic source S '.
- these plates do not extend strictly radially, but are inclined from the inside to the outside of the plane upper limit of the area considered towards the plan lower limit.
- the occulters 13a and 13b can be fixed in place by being made integral of the direct light cover 18 (for example welded or crimped), with recesses 131a, 131b extending said occulters forward on a certain distance on either side of the cache.
- the underside of the plates blackout 13a, 13b has a coating absorbing the light (matt black paint or the like).
- the occluders 13a, 13b can be fixed directly on the lamp base 15.
- the occulters 13a, 13b themselves which constitute means of mounting the cover direct light 18 on the base, to which case the occulters are united with the base to their rear end and integral with the cover 18 at their front end.
- the invention generally applies to any type of lamp comprising, outside the bulb, a or several organs, in particular electrodes, capable of constitute parasitic sources, and covers in particular the so-called “HIR” lamps (Halogen Infra Red, in which the lamp balloon reflects infrared radiation emitted by the filament towards this same filament for increase light excitement.
- HIR Hexogen Infra Red
- FIGS. 5 to 10. Another form is shown in FIGS. 5 to 10. which does not part of the present invention.
- This projector includes a concealment piece which has a part forming a direct light cover 18 with a domed upper wall 181, two side walls vertical 182, 183, a horizontal bottom wall 186 and a front wall 187.
- Two bevelled parts 184, 185 provide the transition between the side walls and the bottom wall.
- edges of the upper, lower and opposite the front wall have a geometry such as radiation from the lamp only reaches the useful parts of the mirror 20.
- the occulters 13a, 13b whose function is identical to that of the occulters described with reference to Figures 3 and 4, constitute at the same time the means for fixing the part 18 forming cache of direct light on mirror 20, so good that no additional fixing part such as lug, amount, etc., likely to decrease the yield light and / or generate stray radiation, is necessary.
- These extensions are capable of locking, after elastic deformation for their installation, in two openings 21a, 21b formed in the mirror 20 on the one hand and on the other side of the lamp hole.
- the placement of the lamp in the lamp hole can be taken advantage of either to ensure mounting the blackout piece on the mirror, i.e. to confirm the assembly carried out for example as described above, coming in this case to exert a support radially outward at the extensions 132a, 132b and perform an appropriate axial setting, to avoid any risk of unlocking.
- Figure 8 shows the angular arrangement of the occulters 13a, 13b so that they are well located in the shaded areas created by the opaque areas 12a, 12b of the bulb.
- parts 13a and 13b of the part shading can alternatively be oriented not vertically but with an oblique tilt, as in the case of Figures 3 and 4.
