Abstract

L'invention concerne une coquille de coulée continue permettant de produire du métal coulé en continu se présentant sous forme de brames, de brames minces, de blooms et de billettes. Cette coquille de coulée continue permet d'atteindre une grande fiabilité de coulée à des vitesses de coulée allant jusqu'à 6 m/mn. Grâce à la forme bombée de la coquille, le metal coulé est centrée par ladite coquille pendant le coulage, ce qui élimine le risque que la croûte solidifiée ne se déplace latéralement dans une des directions des petits côtés (mouvement oscillant). Ce déplacement symétrique de la caisse pendant le coulage dans la coquille, permet d'obtenir une structure symétrique régulière de la crôute solidifiée, de son champ de températures (isothermes), des forces d'extraction et des contraintes exercées sur la crôute solidifiée par rapport à l'axe d'un métal coulé dans le sens de coulée, même lorsque la barre effectue un mouvement oscillant dans la zone de son guide.
