Definitions
- the invention relates to a preferably to be attached to a mast Display module for example for a bus or tram stop, without being limited to this application to be.
- the display modules according to the invention can also be others Information such as information about housed in a building Specify companies and authorities, or as a guide, for example to serve.
- the display module can also be on a wall, for example attached or be a self-supporting column.
- display modules of the type under consideration are usually flat sheet metal elements used either with information are painted or printed or - designed as a frame - foils with information included. If such flat display modules attached to a mast, they are usually pretty kept small so that the information is only read up close can be. Large display modules are - because they are strong Have to withstand wind loads - for strength reasons usually not attached to a mast, but in a frame screwed in, which gives the display modules the necessary stability gives. The frame is often for a predetermined one Number of display modules provided only by this can be enlarged that the previous frame by a new frame of a different size is replaced.
- EP 0 422 772 A1 discloses a display device consisting of two Mold halves, which when assembled, a cylindrical shape to have. The display device is rotatably seated on two bearings are attached to the mast.
- EP 0 608 486 A1 discloses a device for presentation of information where two information spaces are between Edge side elements are clamped in that the information areas are arched.
- the edge side elements are with webs connected tubular elements, incorporated into the two masts can be.
- the present invention is based on the object Display module of the type under consideration, simply on the mast is to be attached and forms a stable unit with it, that also withstands strong wind loads.
- the display module according to the invention has two module half-shells on that to a body with two opposite, convex curved outer surfaces are assembled, the module half-shells take the mast between them, the one in the middle the display module runs.
- the module half shells are included preferably screwed together.
- the convex, generally lenticular in horizontal section Shape of the display module has the consequence that the wind pressure is considerably reduced, so that the stability of one is preferred mast equipped with several display modules is increased. So you can work on a relatively slim mast Display modules of considerable size attached according to the invention become, without such an elaborate mast anchoring required is how this would be necessary in the case of flat display modules.
- the slightly curved outer surfaces of the display module, which is preferred are also uniaxially curved about a vertical axis then clearly visible from a greater distance when the viewer is not at the front of the display module, but on it a laterally offset position looks out of the flat display elements are hardly noticed.
- the invention Display module contain a light guide plate from which at least one, preferably two edge edges of light sources can be illuminated and the roughened outer surface has an information carrier, preferably one with information provided film is arranged.
- the light guide plate is preferably an acrylic transparent plate, whose outside facing the viewer, for example, by Etching or sandblasting has been roughened, which has the consequence has that that laterally entered the light guide plate Light emerges from the roughened outer surface over the entire surface, see above that the luminous outer surface of the semiconductor plate the Information carrier illuminated from the back.
- the information carrier is preferably a mirror image on the back printed transparent film on which, for example, the timetable a public transport is printed so that this information as black characters on the illuminated information area appear.
- diode strips are preferred used as a light source, i.e. at a short distance mutually arranged diodes that are used in grooves can, which preferably in two opposite edge edges the light guide plate are formed.
- the diode bands can in the grooves for example with a liquid acrylic resin be glued in.
- edge edges can also be equipped with diode strips be provided.
- the diode bands are preferably connected to a current source via a Switch connected by a sensor in the ON position can be moved.
- This training has the advantage that the Lighting is only switched on when necessary, which means that the Electricity consumption of the lighting can be significantly reduced.
- an optical Sensor can be arranged.
- an accumulator is used as the current source which is charged by solar cells.
- the accumulator is in this case, expediently within the display module housed and electrically connected to the solar cells that For example, can be attached to the top of the mast when the Display module is attached to such, as is the case with bus and tram stops is appropriate.
- the light guide plate be covered by a protective plate on which the with on the information provided foil.
- the protective plate can consist of polycarbonate or acrylic, for example.
- the cables, the solar cells, the accumulator and the diodes can connect with each other, for example through the mast if the display module or modules are on a mast are attached, or by attached within the display modules Plastic tubes run.
- the display module according to the invention has lighting that completely insensitive to external weather influences, for example Rain is.
- the arrangement of light guide plate, Protective plate and information film is in the marginal areas of Edge strips of the display module or clipped or screwed on Moldings covered, which makes these components secure are held in the display module, which is explained in more detail below is described.
- the diodes are in the grooves of the light guide plate embedded and as inaccessible from the outside as the whole Cabling.

- the module half-shells are preferably together screwed, in such a way that no internal tension in the Module half-shells arise so that the appearance of stress cracks is avoided.
- the convex, generally lenticular in horizontal section Shape of the display module has the consequence that the wind pressure is considerably reduced, so that the stability of one is preferred mast equipped with several display modules is increased. So you can work on a relatively slim mast Display modules of considerable size attached according to the invention become, without an expensive mast anchoring required is how this would be necessary in the case of flat display modules.
- the slightly curved outer surfaces of the display module, which is preferred are also uniaxially curved about a vertical axis then clearly visible from a greater distance when the viewer is not at the front of the display module, but on it a laterally offset position looks out of the flat display elements are hardly noticed.
- the two module half-shells preferably have an identical one External shape, so that the display module one to its median level has a symmetrical shape, without the invention being restricted thereto is.
- the display module In the mounting position, the display module therefore preferred two opposite wall surfaces curved around a vertical axis, which have such a large radius of curvature that the Viewer the labeling or marking of the display module can read well when it is in front of the display module.
- the Module half-shells also have in the mounting position above and flat end walls at the bottom of the convex vertical wall surface, which is straight between the side edges extend and in the assembled state of the display module preferably cover to form a small air gap.
- the display modules are attached to the mast using clamp elements attached, which are screwed together so that they absolutely sit firmly on the mast.
- the clamp elements have one cross-section approximately semicircular contact surface for the mast, i.e. to take into account the occurring with the mast diameters Tolerances remain between the two clamp elements on the mast, which has exactly the target diameter, a small one Gap, so that the two clamp elements even with a mast slightly smaller diameter can be tightened securely.
- the clamp elements can also be formed in which a certain putty, for example a so-called "ego" putty is introduced, which is slightly over the inner surface of the Protrudes clamp elements and has adhesive properties.
- Quartz sand can also be placed in the contact surface of the clamp elements be embedded, partially over the plastic material protrudes, making a particularly large coefficient of friction is caused.
- the module half-shells are attached to the assembled clamp elements attached by this from another point of view the invention on the clamp elements from the side be postponed.
- the clamp elements can be a bit have a lower height than the module half-shells and at the top and the underside with guide and fasteners be provided with appropriate guidance and fastening means Work together on the inside of the module half shells.
- This can be, for example, dovetail guides act, being elongated in one of the components Cross-section dovetail-shaped projections and on the associated other component correspondingly shaped grooves provided could be.

- At the edges of the collar can also be spaced 90 ° apart Tongue and groove designed to engage with each other.
- Clamps i.e. pairs of clamp elements
- the collar protruding from the top and bottom can - just like the module half shells - are made of polycarbonate and be engaged in the clamp elements, which in turn made of a material resistant to stress cracking such as glass fiber reinforced Polypropylene can exist.
- each a half-shell of a display module so-called domes are formed, which contain an internal thread, for example with metal sleeves Internal thread can be used in the dome, and that the each other half-shell through holes in the composite Condition of the display module with the internal threads have aligned places.
- the Through holes can be closed with caps, whose outer surface corresponds to the outer contour of the module half-shells is shaped or arched so that the caps are practical do not attract attention.
- Each cap can have a nose which engages in a recess at the edge of the through hole, whereby the exact angular position of the caps and thus the smooth Closure of the through holes is guaranteed.
- the invention is not limited to that on the inside one half shell the internal thread and the other Half-shell formed the through holes for the screws are. It can also be provided that each half-shell on one axial half domes with internal thread and on the other axial Half through-holes at mirror-symmetrical points the outer wall, again preferably with inner ones Guide sleeves, which creates the possibility of two identical module half shells together to form a display element put. As a result, the manufacturing and storage costs of Module half shells can be reduced.
- the convex walls of the module half-shells lie with their side Edges together, for example with a groove and spring can interlock. That is how it is Display element in the state mounted on the mast essentially tightly sealed on all sides.
- the top display module on the mast contains the prescribed Label for the presence of a stop.
- This H module must always be installed across the road. So too when the stop mast is close to the curb must be assembled, a collision with an approaching bus the H module is reliably prevented with two clamps attached to the mast, which are provided with two arms, the side intervene in the H module and this on the street hold away from the side of the mast.
- the display module is not a permanent, unchangeable, large area Symbol or the like should show, but a Plenty of information such as timetables, information about the route, Stop names and the like that illuminates can be proposed that on the outside of the convexly curved walls formed at the top and bottom of the grooves into which the edges of the light guide plate mentioned above, the protective plate and the information carrier, which are inserted into the display module from one side so that the two curved outer sides of the display module are covered by this arrangement.
- the slide that the contains information to be displayed can be from another Cling film must be covered, which is also in the edge grooves intervenes.
- the edge grooves can be formed in that a flanged upper and lower edge of the convex walls Edge strip is formed.
- a side Stop which is formed by a vertical bar attached there can be, these are fixed in that on the The vertical edge of the composite allows insertion convex walls another bar can be detachably placed.
- This bar which snaps preferentially, prevents the Arrangement of light guide plate and foils are removed can.
- it can be provided that one on the bar molded catch only through a led through the bar Bore by means of an inserted pin or the like in the release position can be deflected.
