Claims (2)

  1. , Method for synchronising a mobile transceiver unit of a remotely controllable motor vehicle locking system and a transceiver unit provided in a motor vehicle, which transceiver units exchange a code signal on actuation of the locking system, and once the mobile transceiver unit has been identified as being associated with the locking system, the two transceiver units are synchronised after the ignition has been switched on, the synchronisation between the mobile transceiver unit and the locking system takes place by means of an inductive coupling provided by an electronic immobiliser, the coupling is then effective when the lgnition key is inserted in the ignition lock, characterised in that the two units are synchronised to different code signals for locking and opening the locking system.
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the mobile transceiver unit is provided with a mechanical key, the mechanical key is inserted in a mechanical ignition lock and the two units are only synchronlsed via the inductive coupling when the key and ignition lock fit together mechanically.
