Description

The invention relates to a hair curler with a cylindrical winding body made of a plastic or latex material and a jacket-shaped adhesive body made of a self-adhesive adhesive tape sitting thereon.

Such hair curlers are adhesive curlers which have the advantage of being able to be handled without a clip, a cross bar or any other locking mechanism and, in so far, consist of only an approximately round body. Outwardly protruding appendages of an adhesive body sitting on a winding body come into direct contact with the hair and hold the hair curler in the hair after a rolling process.

However, it has been found to be disadvantageous that such hair curlers are heavier than conventional hair curlers, which increases the tendency of hair curlers to unwind and thus diminishes the advantage of such hair curlers that they do not require any closure means. This applies especially to hair curlers with larger diameters.

From DE-A-4 018 202 an adhesive winder for winding human hair is known, which has a support body and a cylindrical adhesive body covering the circumference of the support body, which has outwardly protruding adhesive extensions. A cylinder section made of foamed plastic is provided as a supporting body, which is so narrow-pored that it is capable of absorbing liquid and which can be expressed like a sponge. This training allows the hair to be left dry and only to moisten the support body. However, the amount of liquid absorbed makes the adhesive winder difficult.

From US-A-3 566 886 a hair curler with a hollow cylindrical, lattice-shaped support body is known, which has an adhesive tape in a central area. An open lattice structure of the support body is intended to ensure free air passage to the inside of the winder.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a hair curler of the type mentioned, which is light and has a good holding force.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1.

This creates a hair curler that has a reduced covering with a self-adhesive bristle tape, the so-called adhesive tape. Because of the lower weight of the hair curler, a good holding force of the hair curler is achieved even with less adhesive tape. The effective intervention of the reduced sheathing in the hair is so high that the curler has an improved fixing behavior due to the lower weight compared to the known adhesive curlers. As a result, there is no tendency to unroll after the hair is wound up. In connection with the formation of the winding body as a soft winding body made of a closed-cell foam, the Reduced sheathing with the self-adhesive bristle band fully unfold its advantages, as the low weight is combined with a soft structure that favors use as a night winder. The closed-pore foam also supports the curler's resistance to chemicals that may be contained in hair treatment products. The curler can therefore be used twice, once as a normal hair curler for turning wet hair into a drying process or as a permanent wave curler in connection with chemical hair treatment agents.

Because of the uncovered sections on both sides, the curler is not prone to matting like most other curlers. After use, it can be easily removed from the hair.

The hair curler is therefore particularly suitable for perms, where straps leave unwanted markings in the hair.

Preferably, only about half of the winding body is covered with the self-adhesive adhesive tape. Compared to conventional hair curlers, such a hair curler weighs less than half.

Environmentally friendly polyethylene is preferred as the plastic material, as a result of which the hair curler is also resistant to chemicals which are normally contained in hair treatment compositions, such as permanent waving compositions.

The adhesive tape can have adhesive processes like a Velcro tape. These adhesive processes are preferably formed by cut loops of a nylon monofilament, which creates hooks. These hooks can be shaped into mushroom-like bristles by a heat process. Such a mushroom head bristle tape also has excellent adhesive properties.

The hair curler can be made in different diameters and lengths, as set out in claims 7 and 8.

Further refinements and advantages of the invention can be found in the subclaims and the description below.

The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the accompanying figure.
  • Fig. 1 shows schematically a perspective side view of a first embodiment of a hair curler.
  • Fig. 2 shows schematically a perspective side view of a second embodiment of a hair curler.

The hair curler shown in Fig. 1 is a adhesive roller with a cylindrical winding body 1, on which a jacket-shaped adhesive body 2 is seated.

The winding body 1 is preferably a round solid body made of a plastic or latex material. The winding body 1 preferably consists of a plastic foam in order to form the winding body 1 as a soft body. It can be produced by extruding and cutting cylinder sections to length. A closed-pore foam can be used as the plastic foam. Polyethylene is preferred as the plastic material.

A peripheral surface 3 of the winding body 1 is covered in a central section by the adhesive body 2, which encases the winding body 1 in this central area. On both sides of the adhesive body 2, the winding body 1 has uncovered sections 4, 5, that is to say regions of the winding body 1 which are not covered by the adhesive body 2 and each occupy 18 to 35% of a length L of the winding body 1. Preferably about half the length L of the winding body 1 is covered with the adhesive body 2.

The unclad sections 4, 5 formed on the free ends of the winding body 1 are preferably of approximately the same length, since the consequent symmetry of the hair curler simplifies its handling.

The adhesive body 2 consists of a self-adhesive adhesive tape in the hair in the form of a hook tape with a plurality of distributed, protruding hook extensions 6. The hook extensions 6 can be formed by cut loops of a nylon monofilament. The adhesive body 2 is preferably pushed onto the winding body 1 in the form of a wide ring and held there over a ring width adapted to a respective diameter of the winding body 1. Further fastening by means of gluing or welding can take place.

The diameter of the winding body 1 can vary between 8 and 50 mm, the length L between 50 and 80 mm, in particular 55 to 70 mm.

The second embodiment of a hair curler shown in Fig. 2 differs from that described above in that the adhesive tape is formed by a mushroom tape. The adhesive tape comprises a plurality of distributed, outwardly projecting mushroom extensions 7. The mushroom-like design of the extensions 7 can be achieved by a mushroom-shaped deformation of the hooks 6 (Fig. 1) using a heat step. Otherwise, the explanations for FIG. 1 apply accordingly.
