Description

The invention relates to a suction mouthpiece according to the preamble of the first claim.

In a known suction mouthpiece of this type (EP 0 338 513 A2), a base plate is made of plastic, on which auxiliary elements such as a suction channel with a roller brush rotatably mounted therein, a sealing strip extending parallel to the suction channel, and wheels and the like are provided with corresponding holders. For the sealing strip there is an essentially U-shaped groove in the base plate, which is open towards the surface to be machined and has retaining webs at the relevant ends of the groove flanks. The production of such undercuts, which prevent the sealing foot pressed into the groove from automatically loosening, requires the provision of an injection mold with a mold core which is divided several times in the region of the groove.

The invention has for its object to take measures in a suction mouthpiece according to the preamble of the first claim, by means of which the required retaining webs can be produced in a mold that is only divided parallel to the plane of the base plate.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of the first claim.

In one embodiment of a suction mouthpiece according to the invention, the retaining webs are produced only in the area of openings in the base of the groove, the undercut edges being produced by a tool core pin which is fixedly attached to the injection mold part with which the back of the base plate is formed. The groove base webs and the flank parts of the retaining webs facing the working side of the base plate are formed by the tool part forming the working side of the base plate. In order to simplify the insertion of the sealing strip into the groove, its strip foot is largely hat-shaped in cross section, the narrower hat arch facing the groove base webs and the broadened hat brim facing the open side of the groove. The transition between the bow and brim has lead-in bevels so that the hat bow can be freely inserted between the retaining webs and a stable installation position is initially achieved. By pressing down the last of the last, the hat brim is pressed between the retention bars with appropriate compression of the hat brim in the area of the retaining webs. The brim then expands again and engages under the webs, while the hat arch engages between support ribs which are formed on mutually opposing groove flanks in the region of the groove base webs, which extend parallel to one another over the length of the groove. As a result, the hat arch is also secured against transverse adjustment in the installed position and the sealing strip is thus held stable in the groove overall. The sections of the retaining webs facing the open side of the groove can also be designed to slope down like the lead-in chamfer on the last foot in order to keep the specific surface pressure low during the pressing-in process of the sealing foot. Incidentally, the base plate can also be integrally formed with wheel arches for wheels engaging therein, with part of the box arch being designed as a lifting flank can, which is inclined away from the wheel axis at an acute angle to the plane of the base plate and is located on the side of the wheel arch which faces the sealing strip. In this case, locking lugs can also be provided in the guide slots for the wheel axles, which, like the retaining webs of the groove, engage through a core part which engages in the relevant bearing slot from the rear of the base plate and on which the injection mold forming the rear is stuck. Here too, only a separation of the injection mold in the plane of the base plate is required due to the axial offset of the latching lugs relative to the closed bearing slot base serving as a bearing surface for the wheel axes.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of the sketches of an exemplary embodiment.

A suction mouthpiece for a vacuum cleaner has a base plate 1, on which auxiliary elements such as a suction channel 2 with an associated thread lifter 3, sealing strips 4, wheels 5 and support surfaces 6 or support balls 7 are provided. The wheels 5 are partially immersed in adapted wheel arches 8, in which the wheels are supported and fixed at both ends with their wheel axles 9. The base plate 1 is made of plastic in an injection or pressing tool, the suction channel 2, the wheel arches 8 and groove holders 10 for sealing strips 4 or slots 11 for the wheel axles being integrally formed.

The bearing slots 11 run perpendicular to the underside of the base plate 1 shown in the plane to the rear, in the operating case, the upper rear side 28 of the base plate 1 and are U-shaped both in a top view of the base plate 1 and in a side view according to FIG. 3, wherein the respective bearing slot 11 has an end-side bearing surface 12 for one end of the wheel axle 9 in the slot depth. To secure the bearing axis 9 inserted into the respective bearing slot 11, an upstream locking lug 13 is used, which is directed radially to the wheel axis 9 and serves as securing means for the wheel axis 9 in the assembled operating position. When the wheels 5 are inserted, the opposing slot flanks 14 are elastically pushed away from one another when the locking lug 13 is pressed over, in order to spring back into the adjustment path of the wheel axle 9 when the bearing axle 9 rests on the associated bearing surface 12 and to prevent an automatic release.

In order to be able to carry out a dismantling of the wheels 5 in a simple manner if cleaning of the wheel arches 8 or the wheels 5 should also be possible by laymen, lifting flanks 15 are assigned to the wheel arches 8, which are at an acute angle 16 to the level of the base plate 1 are inclined so that there is a difference between the remaining distance between the wheel circumference and wheel arch results in increased distance. Via this flank, for example, a flat screwdriver 17 can be inserted into the wheel arch 8 in such a way that when tipping over the edge 18 formed between the lifting flank 15 and the plane of the base plate 1, a cutting torque is exerted on the circumference of the wheel in question by the cutting edge 19 of the screwdriver can, whose main force component is directed towards the open side of the slot guides 11 in question. The wheel in question can thus be levered out of the associated bearing slots 11 against the locking action of the locking lugs 13. If several wheels 5 are provided, the wheel axes 9 of which are arranged offset from one another parallel to the longitudinal direction of the base plate 1 or of the suction channel 2 and in the direction of the skin pushing, then the lifting flanks 15 are arranged such that they run out towards the center of the base plate 1. This results in simplified access during disassembly and the possibility of placing the wheels as close as possible to the relevant longitudinal side edges of the base plate 1. In order to be able to form the bearing slots 11 provided with the latching lugs 13 in a mold which can only be drawn in the longitudinal direction of the bearing slots 11, the latching lugs 13 are each arranged axially next to the end-side bearing surface 12 and the bearing slot 11 in the demolding direction only in the area of the latching lug 13 to the rear 28 the bottom plate 1 is open. All that is needed is a mold with drivable cores.

Die balligen Ausformungen 7 bilden so seitliche Auflaufschrägen zum Schutz der betreffenden Räder 5.While the support surface 6 lies in the central sliding direction in the central region behind a suction opening 20 assigned to the suction channel 2 and extends to the relevant rear side edge 21 of the base plate 1, the spherical formations are assigned to the wheel arches 8 arranged in the outer corner region of the rear longitudinal side edge 21 and from the Bearing slots 11 penetrated. The spherical formations 7 thus form lateral bevels to protect the wheels 5 in question.

The grooves 10 provided for sealing strips 4 and molded into the base plate 1 extend laterally in the main sliding direction next to the support surface 6 essentially parallel to the suction channel 2. The grooves 10 are essentially U-shaped in the longitudinal direction and open to the working plane of the base plate . The groove base has openings 22 toward the rear side 28, so that the groove base support webs 23 remain, on which the strip foot 24 of the sealing strip 4 is supported. In addition, 25 retaining web sections 26 are molded onto the opposing flanks, each of which points toward the opposite flank of the groove and serve as a counter bearing for the strip foot 24. They extend in the longitudinal direction of the groove 10 only at most over a length corresponding to the respectively assigned opening 22, so they do not overlap the groove base webs 23 in a vertical projection. On the cross-section of the groove substantially adapted to the elastic, thickened last foot 24, a thin, soft, elastic sealing lip 27 is integrally formed, the free lip edge of which extends beyond the plane defined by the edges of the suction channel 2 and in particular beyond the plane determined by the wheels 5. This sealing strip 4 largely prevents the free inflow of air from the rear longitudinal edge 21, as does the increased support surface 6. To insert the sealing strip 4, its strip foot 24 only needs to be placed on the open side of the groove 10 or on the retaining webs 26 and pressed into the groove 10 with elastic deformation between the retaining webs 26. The retaining webs 26 then prevent the sealing strip from falling out of the groove 10 unintentionally only one end of the sealing strip 4 in question is to be levered out of the groove 10 by means of a tool, in order then to be pulled out of the remaining part of the groove 10 by hand or with pliers.

With this construction, in addition to an uncomplicated manufacturing possibility for the base plate 1, a simple assembly and disassembly option for the wheels 5 as well as for the sealing strip 4 is thus achieved.

In order to be able to execute the sealing strip 4 in a simple manner, support ribs 30 are formed within the groove 10 from the groove base webs 23 and directed towards the open side of the groove 10 onto the opposing groove flank webs 29 which extend parallel to one another over the length of the groove 10 . The support ribs 30 extend only over part of the height of the groove 10. Accordingly, the last 24 is approximately hat-shaped in cross-section, the narrower hat arch 24.1 facing the groove base webs 23 engaging between the support ribs 30, while the hat brim 24.2 directly on the Groove flanks 25 are adjacent to the retaining webs 26 after the support ribs 30 do not extend into this area. The transition from the hat bow 24.1 to the hat brim 24.2 is formed on both sides as an insertion bevel 24.3. In the same way, it is also expedient to provide the parts of the retaining webs 26 pointing towards the open side of the groove with insertion bevels 26.1. To insert the sealing strip 4, the top hat 24 thus initially loosely engages between the retaining webs 26, so that mechanical demonstration and support is achieved. The width of the hat bow is largely adapted to the free distance between the retaining webs 26. By pressing on the skirting board 24 from the open side of the groove 10, the insertion bevels 24.3 and 26.1 slide off one another, the elastic bar base 24 in Area of the individual retaining webs is compressed accordingly transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip in order to then spring back into its illustrated installation position and to engage under the retaining webs 26 to prevent it from falling out. The supporting ribs 30 prevent a pendulum movement when the sealing lip 27 is acted upon mechanically transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip during operation when the suction mouthpiece is pushed back and forth by frictional forces. In Fig. 1, the left groove 10 is shown without sealing strip 4 and the right groove 10 with sealing strip 4.
