Definitions
- the invention relates to a front pipe safety igniter for low-swirl or free-projectiles, especially for Practice projectiles and in the subsonic area, as well as a with such a front pipe safety igniter Bullet.
- Such projectiles are made using a propellant charge shot down a pipe. They have detonators that ignite the projectile when it hits it. So that the floor not already when handling or in the vicinity of the Can ignite pipe, the so-called pre-pipe area and the operating team is at risk, safety igniters used, where the projectile only after is sharp when leaving the front pipe area.
- DE 21 19 574 A1 describes a safety fuse that can be used on projectiles that have only a low or have no rotation.
- This safety detonator points in a cavity of a jacket a security and a guide sleeve that is nested in the Cavity are slidably arranged.
- Inside the guide sleeve is a firing pin with a firing pin slidably guided in a securing position of first securing balls, some of which are in a groove of the firing pin and partly in openings engage the guide sleeve and thus a mechanical Coupling between the firing pin and the guide sleeve effect, set against the guide sleeve is.
- the guide sleeve in turn, which by means of a Helical compression spring against the direction of flight of the projectile is biased, in the securing position held by second locking balls that are in breakthroughs the locking sleeve are arranged and partially engage in grooves of the guide sleeve, whereby they rest on the cavity wall.
- the securing sleeve covers the openings, in which the first locking balls are arranged so that these hold the firing pin relative to the guide sleeve.
- the safety sleeve set with locking pins Before the launch and in the launch tube is the safety sleeve set with locking pins.
- the safety detonator is focused according to DE 21 19 574 A1 in two phases. Move in a first phase the guide sleeve, the securing sleeve and the Firing pin together due to their inertia in the cavity forward relative to the floor, due to from on the floor due to the wind resistance acting delays. These must be in the first phase be so high that those on the floor in the direction of flight Moved total mass from the guide and locking sleeve and firing pin compresses the spring. In this Phase are in the openings in the securing sleeve and the grooves of the guide sleeve second securing element from the inside on the cavity wall why the mechanical coupling between the locking sleeve and the guide sleeve is maintained.
- the advance of the total mass from the guide and locking sleeve and firing pin is limited in that the securing sleeve against the one lying in the direction of flight End of the cavity. Lie in this position the openings in the securing sleeve recesses Opposite cavity wall into which the second locking balls penetration. They step out of the grooves out of the guide sleeve, with which the mechanical coupling is lifted by the securing sleeve and guide sleeve. The force of the compressed acting on the guide sleeve Spring leads to the fact that the guide sleeve together with the firing pin still mechanically coupled to it moved back against the direction of flight.
- the first securing balls can be used from the openings in the guide sleeve get out, so that the mechanical coupling between the firing pin and the guide sleeve is lifted.
- the now freely movable firing pin is in approximately in the position at the rear end of the cavity, in which he was at the beginning of the first phase. From this phase on the projectile or its detonator sharp, so that the firing pin because of its inertial forces when the projectile hits a The target moves forward and a charge ignites. Subsequently become the guide sleeve and the securing sleeve decoupled by disengaging the balls and the guide sleeve moves under the influence of the compression spring in the cavity backwards, using the firing pin takes along. In a rear position of the guide sleeve then the openings of the securing balls are exposed, so that they can disengage and release the firing pin. The firing pin can move freely in this position and the bullet sharp.
- the invention has for its object a safety fuse and a to create this equipped floor, the safety detonator one has a simple structure and the risk of ignition failure and the Trajectory deviation reduced and especially for (practice) floors in the Subsonic area can be used.
- the front pipe safety igniter has Guide the ignition trigger element provided for igniting a charge a stationary in the cavity of a floor to be arranged guide element.
- the ignition trigger element is longitudinally displaceable on the guide element guided, so it can be relative to the guide element in Shift flight direction (and opposite), unless it locks onto the stationary guide element is.
- This locking is done by a securing element. This extends in the locked state Securing element both in a recess of the ignition trigger element as well as in a through hole of the Guide element.
- the securing element is preferably a sphere.
- On the ignition trigger opposite side of the guide element a locking and release element arranged, the freely longitudinally displaceable within the cavity of the projectile, i.e.
- the locking and Trigger element covers for locking the ignition trigger element on the guide element its through hole and holds the safety ball in this and thus in the Recess of the ignition trigger element. Only when the locking and trigger element completely on the through hole has passed, the through hole is exposed, so that the securing element from the through hole can emerge and thus the locking canceled between the ignition trigger element and the guide element is.
- the restraining force acts on the ignition trigger element a retaining spring, which is the ignition trigger element holds in its locked position in which the Fuse element partially in the recess of the ignition trigger element and partially in the through hole of the guide member is arranged.
- the ignition trigger element with radial Play in the guide sleeve and the securing sleeve (locking and release element) with play around the guide sleeve is arranged.
- the ignition trigger element it is either an element (e.g. impact or firing pin) that strikes a (ignition) charge or an element containing an (ignition) charge, on a fixed ignition element (for example a firing pin) hits when the projectile hits the target hits.
- the mode of operation of the invention is described below Front pipe safety igniter are described.
- the projectile located on the launch tube is the ignition trigger element via the securing element on the guide element locked.
- the locking and release element is located viewed on - in the direction of flight of the projectile - rear end of its displacement path. Here it covers the through hole and holds the securing element in this and thus also in the recess of the Ignition trigger element.
- When leaving the launch tube acts on the projectile due to its wind resistance a deceleration (negative acceleration). Due to the Mass inertia of the freely movable within the cavity Locking and release element moves this in the direction of flight of the projectile within the Cavity.
- the retaining spring holds that Ignition trigger element back while the locking and Trigger element is moved forward.
- the front pipe protection of the safety detonator canceled. Because now the ignition trigger can when the bullet hits the target due to the resulting inertial forces as a result the strong braking of the projectile against the force of the Move the retaining spring forward to ignite the projectile's charge.
- the security zone depends in which the front pipe safety igniter according to the invention prevents the charge of the projectile from igniting, on the length of time that the locking and release element needed to be completely at the through hole to move past.
- This time span is in turn from Speed at which the locking and trigger element relative to the guide element within of the cavity of the projectile.
- Speed at which the locking and trigger element relative to the guide element within of the cavity of the projectile is also crucial how long (extension in the direction of the flight direction) the locking and release element is.
- the speed at which the locking and Tripping element in the event of delays acting on the projectile in turn depends on the strength of the deceleration of the projectile and thus of the wind resistance of the Projectile and the mass of the locking and release element from.
- the retention spring comes through when flying through the front tube area the task over the entire flight time of the projectile to, the ignition trigger on a movement to To prevent firing of the projectile charge as long as on the Ignition trigger element only that due to projectile delays acting forces are exerted. Also along of the falling branch of the projectile's trajectory this ensures that the ignition trigger element not advanced before the bullet hit. If the projectile along the sloping branch of its trajectory moved, because the front pipe area is already left, the locking and release element on the through hole moving past in the direction of flight.
- the recess of the Ignition trigger element can hit the projectile for an obstacle in the front pipe area between the ignition trigger element and the locking and release element via the fuse element disengaged from the ignition release element such wedging occur that the projectile is safe, so the detonator is also safe can no longer ignite if during subsequent handling of the projectile on this vibrations and forces act.
- the locking and release element around that only part that (when flying through the downpipe area) must move so that the safety detonator despite Down pipe protection is brought into focus. Furthermore, only a single securing element is required, around the ignition trigger element on the guide element to lock. Provided several security elements and thus also several through holes in the guide element can of course also be desired more than one securing element can be used. A however, the only securing element is sufficient.
- Acting on the locking and release element Forces, especially as a result of gravity, hold that Locking and release element on the front in the direction of flight End of its displacement path where there is the through hole releases. After moving the Locking and triggering element on the through hole can So the locking and release element no longer be moved back, which is why the detonator after flying through of the front pipe area without it becoming one in this case unintentional bullet hit is therefore the detonator for the rest of the trajectory in focus.
- the invention Front pipe safety igniter especially with low swirl or -free projectiles are used, the speeds reach in the subsonic area.
- Projectiles in particular are practice projectiles and preferably around sub-caliber training bullets with a dummy into which a charge containing the propellant Sleeve is inserted.
- a projectile head used with the invention Front pipe safety igniter is provided.
- Such projectiles have a parabolic trajectory shot and show only low flight speeds on.
- the initial phase of the trajectory of such a projectile is this according to the launch angle of the Launch tube about 30 ° to 80 °, preferably 45 ° to 75 °, inclined to the horizontal.
- the bullet is decelerated due to the air resistance. Since the locking and release element inside the floor not subject to these delays, it moves due to inertial forces relative to the projectile in its direction of flight forward.
- the ignition trigger element is by the retaining spring on such a forward movement hindered. The on the locking and release element acting inertia forces are greater than that resulting forces due to acceleration due to gravity opposite to the flight direction on the locking and trigger element act.
- the locking and release element Covered in the front pipe area the locking and release element first with his the securing element facing away from the load, until after leaving the front pipe area too its end section facing the load is located on the Security element has moved past.
- the cavity and that Locking and release elements have corresponding Dimensions so that these two end positions are taken can be. Once the securing element is outward the safety detonator is sharp.
- the locking and trigger element (the ignition trigger element) and the projectile has the gravitational pull. Because the bullet through the air resistance is accelerated less than the locking and triggering element (and the ignition triggering element), which the air resistance forces do not are exposed, the locking and release element remains in its previously occupied position, in the its end section facing away from the load at the front end of the cavity.
- the ignition release element is on from the retaining spring a movement due to the gravitational acceleration hindered; it is only when the bullet is hit that the ignition trigger element lent kinetic energy greater - and although much larger than the force of the retaining spring. Since the ignition trigger is unlocked (the Fuse element is already or is from the ignition trigger element disengaged through the through hole, the projectile charge is ignited.
- the ignition trigger element an ignition element having an ignition charge is that when moving against the force of the Retention spring in the direction of a fixed firing pin is movable to ignite the charge. That at Projectile ignition trigger element moving in the direction of flight hits a fixed firing pin, the the ignition charge of the ignition trigger element ignites. Because of the resulting fumes are those in the rear Part of the floor housed smoke boom charge ignited.
- the ignition charge is at am arranged at the front end of the projectile head and arranged in the rear end of the projectile head Smoke bang charge between the two.
- a securing part is advantageously used provided that the locking and release element when in its locked position Ignition trigger element prevents longitudinal displacement.
- This securing part is preferably a spring-loaded locking pin due to its spring preload flies off the projectile when this leaves the launch tube or, in the case of a Sub-caliber practice ammunition, from that of the dummy picked up propellant charge sleeve emerges.
- the locking and release element in its securing position held, but also the ignition trigger element in it Locking position so that the ignition trigger element in front a longitudinal displaceability is secured without this the lock given via the securing element needs the guide element.
- the recess of the ignition trigger element is preferably as a circumferential, partially circular in section Groove trained.
- Securing element preferably designed as a ball. Through the groove, the ball is over part of yours enclosed spherical outer surface; in the rest of the area is the locking ball in the through hole of the guide element immersed. Through the partial encirclement the locking device covering the through hole and trigger element substantially immovable securing ball becomes a good mechanical coupling (locking) of the ignition trigger element on the guide element the safety ball achieved.
- the ignition trigger element and the locking and release element over can strongly wedge the locking ball if that Storey when flying through the downpipe area on Obstacle and thus the safety function of the Safety detonator responds is advantageous Further development of the invention provided that the groove opposite to the direction of flight conically widening area of the ignition trigger element connects. Over the sloping surface of the conical The securing ball becomes more and more extensive with the range Advance movement of the ignition trigger element increasingly pressed against the locking and release element. This creates an extremely strong wedging.
- the transition area between grooving and conical area formed as a shoulder which the Disengagement movement of the safety ball through the advancing ignition trigger element reinforced.
- a mortar 10 is shown, from the launch tube 12 a projectile 14 with a parabolic trajectory 16 can be fired.
- the launch tube 12 is around a launch angle of about 30 ° to 80 °, preferably from 45 ° to 75 °, inclined to the horizontal.
- the Floor 14 is a non-rotating, sub-caliber mortar training floor with wing stabilization and becomes one Shot dummy with propellant case.
- the projectile 14 has a cylindrical cavity 17 a safety fuse 18 with a safety device on, in the direction of flight at the top of the floor in Projectile head 20 is arranged (Fig. 2).
- the safety device has a guide element in the form of a guide sleeve 32 with one in a radial through hole 54 arranged securing element in the form of a ball 52 and a locking and release element in the form of a Locking sleeve 38 on.
- the securing sleeve surrounds the Guide sleeve with a small radial distance.
- the projectile 14 has a smoke explosion charge as the charge 22 to be ignited on in the direction of flight behind the safety igniter 18 is arranged in the rear of the projectile head 20 and with her protrudes front end into the cavity of the Ge lap head 20.
- the projectile head 20 is a thick-walled metal tube, the one at its front end in the direction of flight a press-fit part, the ignition needle holder 24 closed is.
- the Projection 26 which is coaxial with the rest of the needle holder 24 and the projectile head 20 is arranged, centered in this way the guide sleeve 32.
- the Wall thickness of the guide sleeve 32 is such that between the inner wall 34 and the guide sleeve 32 Annulus 36 remains in that with little radial play to the guide sleeve 32 and with radial play to the cavity 17 delimiting inner surface 34, the securing sleeve 38 is inserted.
- the securing sleeve 38 has approximately one Third of the axial length of the guide sleeve 32 or Annulus 36.
- a for triggering ignition arranged essentially cylindrical ignition element 40, which is inserted with play in the guide sleeve 32 and one on its front facing the direction of flight Has ignition charge.
- the ignition element 40 has an in Circumferential circumferential part-circular Groove 42 on which is opposite to the direction of flight a conical area 44 connects to the rear.
- the conical region 44 follows one externally curved rounding 46 into the outer (peripheral) surface 48 of the ignition element 40. Between the groove 42 and the conical portion 44 is on the igniter 40 a shoulder 50 is formed.
- the radius of the ball corresponds the radius of the groove 42.
- the safety fuse 18 is in the secured state the locking sleeve 38 with its rear in the direction of flight End 55 at the rear end of the annulus in the direction of flight 36, i.e. on the holding body 27 and covered with their facing away from the charge 22 and the holding body 27 and in the flight direction end portion 68 the through hole 54 with the ball 52 located therein (Fig. 2).
- the ball 52 is thereby in its on the igniter 40 adjacent position held so that the ignition element 40 cannot move and locks is (locking position).
- At least one locking pin 56 in one radial opening 58 of the projectile head 20 is provided, the locking pin 56 by means of a helical compression spring 60 is biased to the outside.
- the length of the Locking pin 56 is larger than the wall thickness of the Projectile head 20 so that the locking pin 56 in secured condition in the annular space 36 of the safety fuse 18 protrudes and the locking sleeve 38 with her end facing away from the charge 22 at the above Locking pin 56 is present.
- the safety igniter 18 is operational when the projectile 14 is shot down, whereby before leaving the dummy the safety detonator 18 is secured in that the locking pin 56 the Securing sleeve 38 in its securing position according to FIG. 2, in which the securing sleeve 38 in turn has the ball 52 in the locking position locking the ignition element 40 secures, holds.
- the Helical compression spring 62 prevents relative movement of the igniter 40 relative to the projectile head 20 due to inertial forces when the Storey 14 in flight. Thereby of the Ignition element 40 on the ball 52 no opening force exercised so that this lies loosely in the groove 42 and the securing sleeve 38 move freely past it on the outside can without wedging Ignition element and securing sleeve 38 via the ball 52 is coming.
- the safety fuse 18 is sharp, wherein the individual parts of the safety fuse 18 shown in Fig. 4 positions shown.
- a movement of the igniter 40 in the direction of the ignition needle 30 a force exceeding the force of the spring 62 (as in Case) is now possible because the ball 52 disengages by itself or through the igniter 40 the groove 42 and the cone area 44 radially after can be pressed on the outside and thus the ignition element 40 releases.
- the ball 52 which in of the part-circular groove 42 is due to the movement of the igniter 40 over the groove 42 and the cone area 44 pressed out and doing so with the locking sleeve 38 non-positively in contact brought.
- the groove 42 and the shoulder 50 designed so that even a slight axial forward movement of the igniter 40 a large radial outward disengagement speed of ball 52 has the consequence.
- the reliable function of downtube security is due to the rapid disengagement of one Inner surface portion of the through hole 54 of the immovable Guide sleeve 32 adjacent ball 52 reached. During the disengagement movement, the ball 52 presses against the outside the locking sleeve 38. In this way, the igniter 40 with the securing sleeve 38 via the ball 52 wedged.
