It has been known for some time that asbestos is harmful to health and should therefore be avoided in construction, especially for closed interiors. On the other hand, asbestos-containing building materials are fire-resistant, which makes the multilayered use in the form of solid components and in the form of liquid raw materials (materials) that have been cast or sprayed understandable. In addition, asbestos is a poor conductor of heat, which gave it a certain amount of thermal insulation.

As a result of the knowledge that asbestos was harmful to health, substitutes were sought which above all showed similarly good fire resistance. Such substances with similarly good fire protection properties are e.g. Vermiculite and perlite, which are also skin-friendly and require no special protection when handling them, and also offer good sound and heat insulation. For insulation, e.g. rock wool and the like are also used, which also requires only minor protective measures during processing.

Despite intensive testing, it has so far not been possible to produce an insulation and / or fire protection compound with the abovementioned materials which is monolithic on a smooth surface without a primer and without mechanical fasteners, e.g. as spray plaster, can be applied.

Methods and devices are known, for example from US Pat. No. 3,740,260, in which a spray gun separately liquid coating material, fibrous insulation and compressed air are supplied to mix these components just before application. In the case of the above-mentioned insulation and / or fire protection materials, however, there is no satisfactory mixing, primarily because of the low specific weight.

The object of the invention is to find a method and to create a device in order to be able to apply an insulation and / or fire protection compound monolithically to a surface, complete mixing being ensured.

This object is achieved in that a moving air volume is generated in a conveyor channel by a conveyor fan in a method of the type mentioned, in which an insulating and / or fire protection material and hardener are introduced, which are connected with the air volume in the with the conveyor channel Spray gun. The insulation and / or fire protection compound produced in this way can be monolithically and permanently applied to a surface and retains the properties specific to the insulation and / or fire protection.

In particular, the dam and / or fire protection substance and then preferably powdered hardener is introduced separately into the air volume.

The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for insulation and / or fire protection materials which have a lower specific weight than the binder, since the relatively light insulation and / or fire protection material can be transported without problems in the air volume and later the relatively heavy binder or relatively heavy glue is added.

Geeignete Dämm- und/oder Brandschutzstoffe sind Vermiculite, Perlite oder Steinwolle und dgl..Suitable insulation and / or fire protection materials are vermiculite, perlite or rock wool and the like.

An adhesive, in particular a fire protection adhesive, can be used as the binder.

At the beginning of the process, the switching on of the conveying fan, the beginning of the supply of insulation and / or fire protection material, of hardener and of binder or adhesive is preferably delayed by a control unit in accordance with the respective specific weight and the respective conveying path. The delay in the delivery of the individual components compensates for the different acceleration times due to the different specific weights and the different distances of the delivery points to the outlet nozzle of the spray gun. After their acceleration phase, all components have the same speed, namely that of the air volume, which ensures uniform transport of the components.

The device according to the invention is characterized in that, in a device of the type mentioned at the outset, a conveying fan is connected with its suction side to one end of a conveying channel into which at least one dispensing device for the insulation and / or fire protection material and for hardener opens and that the conveying fan is on its discharge side has a connection for the hose for supplying the insulation and / or fire protection material mixed with the hardener to the spray gun. The insulation and / or fire protection material and the hardener are not blown through the delivery channel, which would be impossible or difficult for some light materials due to their specific weights, but are sucked in with the moving air volume.

At its other end, the conveying duct preferably has a control flap with which the amount of air in the conveying duct can be controlled.

A delivery device for the insulation and / or fire protection material and the hardener preferably open into the delivery channel. The mixing ratio can be changed at any time by the separate addition. The metered delivery can take place, for example, in the delivery device for the hardener by means of a motor-driven screw and in the delivery device for the insulation and / or fire protection material via a compressed air valve.

An electronic control device is provided to control these dispensing devices for the insulation and / or fire protection material and the hardener and the dispensing device for the binder or the adhesive, as well as the supply of pressure medium and the conveying fan. With a preselected delivery rate and preselected mixing ratio, the device is easy to operate with the same work result.

Further details of the method and the device result from the following description of an embodiment variant of the device according to the invention. 1 shows the device in a side view and FIG. 2 shows the spray gun.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, a conveying fan 2 is connected to one end of a conveying channel 1 on the one hand and to a connection 12 on the other hand. The conveying channel 1 has a control flap 16 at its other end. A dispensing device 10, 11 for an insulation and / or fire protection substance 3 and hardener 4 each open between the control flap 16 and the conveying fan 2. The discharge of the insulation and / or fire protection substance 3 is achieved by a compressed air valve 17 and the discharge of the hardener 4 regulates a worm driven by motor 18. From the connection 12, a hose 13 leads to the spray gun 5 shown in FIG. 2, into which compressed air 7 from a compressed air delivery device 15 on the one hand and via a line 20 and a valve 19 binder or adhesive 8 on the other hand are introduced via a hose 14.

At the start of work, switching on the device via the control unit 9 causes the delivery blower 2 to start. As soon as a moving air volume has built up, the control device 9 activates the delivery device 10 and introduces a constant amount of insulation and / or fire protection material 3 into the air volume. then the dispensing device 11 is activated with a slight time delay and a constant amount of hardener 4 is also introduced into the mixture of air and insulation and / or fire protection material. The conveyor blower 2 sucks the air volume with the insulation and / or fire protection material 3 and the hardener 4 and transports it to the spray gun 5. There, a little later, binder or adhesive 8 is added. Due to the different specific weights of dam and / or fire protection material 3, hardener 4 and binder or adhesive 8, these individual components have different acceleration times in the air volume, these are compensated for by the electronic control. The time delays when the respective dispensing devices are switched on at the start of work have the effect that the mixture sprayed with the gaseous pressure medium from the nozzle-shaped outlet 6 has the preselected mixing ratio from the start, ie it can be processed from the start. When the device is switched off, the control device 9 controls the switching off of the individual dispensing devices and of the conveying fan in the reverse order, so that there are no useless loss quantities even at the end of the work.

& Co.KG verwendet.E.g. was used in corresponding tests for the production of the test surfaces for the test programs according to Ö-Norm B 3800 and Ö-Norm S 5104 Vermiculite with a grain size of 3 to 6 mm, powdered hardener and the solvent-free Burian steel fire protection adhesive from Burian Ges. mbH & Co.KG used.

The tests showed that the insulation and fire protection compound produced from the above-mentioned materials by the process according to the invention is fire-resistant in accordance with fire resistance class F90, highly fire-retardant in accordance with fire resistance class F60, with low smoke formation (smoke formation class Q1) and small drop formation (drop formation class Tr1), as well as good has a sound-absorbing effect.

In further tests with this insulation and fire protection compound, in addition to the good fire protection properties and the good sound and noise protection properties, the suitability as warm or cold insulation was also established.
