Definitions
- the invention relates to a base frame for rail tank cars according to the preamble of claim 1.
- inventive design of such a base frame according to the characterizing part of claim 1 has proven to be particularly expedient in practice because it is able, with relatively simple measures, to produce a base frame that is largely tension-free and capable of taking the transmission into account as intended To allow buffer forces at relatively high driving speeds.
- Essential parts of the railroad car are a boiler 1 in the form of a lying, elongated cylinder closed at both ends and a base frame 2 on which the boiler is mounted in the region of its ends.
- the undercarriage in turn essentially consists of the actual undercarriage frame 3 and the two bogies 4, 5 in the area of the two ends of the undercarriage frame 3.
- the boiler 1 and each of the two biaxial bogies 4, 5 can be of conventional construction, which is why an explanation of their construction is not required.
- the guidance between the base frame 3 and each bogie 4 or 5 is carried out by a vertical pivot 6; the two pivots are attached to the underside of the base frame, with them the base frame projects into the frame of the respective bogie. In the top view, each of the pivots is arranged in the middle of the respective bogie.
- the underframe 2 forms a drivable unit that is drivable and functional even without the boiler 1 placed on it.
- the underframe consists essentially of two longitudinal beams 7, 8, which run parallel to one another at a small distance from one another between portal-like widened end sections, which will be explained in more detail below.
- Each side member has an I-shaped cross-section.
- Both side members 7,8 end at each end on a cross member 9 and 10 and are connected to the respective cross member using gusset plates 11.
- the respective cross member is the rear cross member of a portal-like extension 12 or 13 at the respective end of the underframe and for receiving one of the two pivots 6 determined.
- a head support 14 or 15 is arranged at each end of the underframe.
- Each of the head supports 14, 15 is provided with a coupling and buffer device, of which the usual buffers 16 are indicated schematically.
- two longitudinal beams 17, 18 are arranged at each end of the undercarriage, which basically correspond to the longitudinal beams 7, 8, but run parallel to one another at a somewhat smaller distance than the longitudinal beams 7, 8.
- the framework of a rear cross member 9 or 10, a head member 14 or 15 and the two longitudinal members 17, 18 at each portal-like extended end of the base frame is provided at the top with a plate cover, which consists of two partial plates 19, 20.
- the rear transverse edge 21 of the rear partial plate 19 facing the center of the carriage is straight and lies somewhat behind the respective rear cross member.
- Each head carrier 14, 15 has reinforced ends which protrude slightly above the central region of the head carrier and the straight front edge of the front partial plate 20 is straight and runs in the region of the front ends of the reinforced head carrier ends or it preferably follows the contour of the head carrier.
- Both each head support 14 and 15 and each rear cross member 9 and 10 is box-shaped in such a way that two spaced-apart vertical webs project downward from the respective partial plate 19, 20, or are covered at the top by the respective partial plate and with one another are connected.
- the pivot bearing 21 is held between the vertical webs of the rear cross member.
- Essential to the invention is the cutting of the two partial plates 19, 20 in the region of the mutually facing edges, which results in particular from FIG. 3.
- Each of these edges has a substantially straight central section 22 which crosses the longitudinal beam region and extends somewhat beyond the longitudinal beams 17, 18. From the ends of the straight central section 22, the edge bends back in an arc, i.e. the central section 22 is followed by curved sections 23 and 24 at both ends. Despite this commonality, the two arc sections of the pivot plate side plate 19 are different from the two arc sections of the head support side plate 20.
- Each arcuate edge 23a, 24a of the head plate side plate 20 extends substantially symmetrically to the center 25 between the one of the side members 17, 18 and the side edge, in turn forms a straight central section 23a1 or 24a1, to which two bends 23a2 and 23a3 or 24a2 and 24a3 are connected, with which the respective edge runs into the side delimitation 26 and 27 of the respective portal-like extension.
- the arc-shaped recessed profile of the corresponding edge of the pivot plate-side plate 19 is an asymmetrical profile to the corresponding center 25 '.
- connection of the subframe longitudinal members 7, 8 to the respective rear cross member 9 is rather flexible, which is obviously one of the features which contributes to the advantageousness of a subframe according to the invention.

Essential parts of the railroad car are a
In the central area, the underframe consists essentially of two
Both
Each
Both each head support 14 and 15 and each
Each of these edges has a substantially straight
Each
Practical tests have shown that obviously this shape of two upper part or cover plates results in a practically tension-free base frame, which does not need the usual "saddling" for the boiler and the buffer force of 300 t required according to the regulations at a driving speed of 14 km / h allows where only 12 km / h are possible with known designs.
The storage of the
Despite the use of the
