Dans le but d'améliorer leur confort, on a doté certaines ceintures d'un tronçon élastique, disposé sur leur longueur généralement au voisinage de la boucle (brevet US 1.180.908). Ces systèmes très anciens présentent le défaut de conduire à des ceintures d'apparence non traditionnelle, qui ont tendance à se tordre ou à vriller au niveau du tronçon élastique. Pour pallier ce défaut, on a équipé certaines ceintures de systèmes à ressort associés à la boucle de ceinture (brevets US 2.629.104, US 2.659.895, US 1.707.562, GB 589.119). - . au moins un ruban élastique est disposé entre les deux languettes, le ou lesdits rubans étant liés vers l'avant auxdites languettes et vers l'arrière à la sangle en vue de réaliser une jonction élastique entre ladite sangle et lesdites languettes,
- . la sangle est dotée d'une lumière oblongue s'étendant longitudinalement à l'arrière des rubans élastiques le long d'une partie de sangle recouverte par les languettes,
- . les languettes sont reliées entre elles dans leur partie arrière par un organe de liaison qui traverse la lumière de la sangle et est adapté pour coulisser dans ladite lumière lorsque les languettes et la sangle sont sollicitées en traction longitudinale.

- Belt according to Claim 4, characterised in that :- the two elastic tapes (9, 10) are attached by their front edge between tongues (4, 5) by at least one seam (6, 7) connecting said tongues to each other,- strap (1) consists of at least two layers of materials glued to one another (la-lc), whereas the elastic tapes (9, 10) are secured by their rear edge between said layers by a seam (13) connecting said layers.
- Belt according to Claim 5, characterised in that the two elastic tapes (9, 10) consist of two strands of a length folded in half, a safety fastener (18) being arranged at the rear of seam (13) close to the crease, whereas the front sections of the tapes are secured by means of two seams (6, 7).
- Belt according to one of Claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, characterised in that tongues (4, 5) consist of a band of material folded over and sewn at its front end (6) with a view to retaining buckle (2).
- Belt according to Claims 6 and 7 taken together, comprising a loop (8) between seam (6) for retaining the buckle and seam (7) for attaching the elastic tapes.
