Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a household or hygiene paper, in particular toilet paper, handkerchief or kitchen towel, consisting of at least two layers with embossing, in which at least some of the layers form a rough side and a smooth side independently of one or more layers stamped from each other and connected in such a flush manner that the outer sides of the outer layers are smooth.
Household or hygiene paper produced according to this process is the 4-ply "Hakle Lady" toilet paper manufactured and sold by Hakle-Werke GmbH & Co., Gassnerallee 45/47, 6500 Mainz, since about 1980. The layers of this toilet paper are connected by gluing. Gluing is detrimental to the softness of a household or hygienic paper.
From US-A 4481243 a hygienic paper is known consisting of two interconnected layers of tissue paper, the soft sides of which face outwards.
The object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a household or hygiene paper of the type mentioned which has an improved appearance of softness.
This object is achieved in that the independently embossed layers are passed through an electrostatic discharge station and electrostatically discharged and connected to one another by knurling immediately prior to their connection.
When the individual layers of household or hygiene paper are embossed independently, they can experience a different electrostatic charge. In order to achieve good layer adhesion when brought together, the layers are passed together through an electrostatic discharge station and are electrostatically discharged. The subsequent connection of the layers by knurling is preferred in terms of production technology and leads to household or hygiene paper with an improved softness impression.
Before or when the layers are knurled, an adhesive can be placed between the layers, in particular sprayed on. This supports the connection by knurling and effectively combines the generation of mechanical and chemical layer adhesion.
Process variants for the production of 2- to 4-ply household or hygiene papers are characterized in claims 3 to 8. A two-ply household or hygienic paper has individually embossed layers that are in contact with each other on their rough sides. With 3-ply household or hygiene paper, there is the option of embossing two of its plies as a double ply and the third independently as a single ply. The double layer and the single layer are brought together with their rough side inwards. Alternatively, all three layers of a 3-ply household or hygiene paper can be embossed individually. In the case of 4-ply paper, two pairs of plies can be embossed in two layers independently of one another and brought into contact with their rough side on the inside. But there is also the possibility emboss only two of his layers together and the other two layers independently, and last but not least, all four layers can be embossed individually. The more layers are embossed individually, the higher the volume of the hygienic paper received - at the price of a higher outlay on equipment.
The material of the independently embossed layers of household or hygiene paper can be the same, but also different. For example, you can combine a harder surface or core material with a soft outer material. It is also possible to combine material, in particular tissue, with different strengths and physical properties (fleece, fabric).
The embossing pattern of the independently embossed layers can also be the same or different. With excellent embossing quality, you have a wide range of variations in the design.
A system for carrying out the production method according to the invention contains two or more parallel embossing stations along the running path of two or more paper webs, an electrostatic unloading station which the paper webs pass through together, and a knurling station for generating the layer adhesion between the paper webs.
