Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fire protection door made of a box-shaped door leaf including mineral fiber panels.
  • the view sides of the door leaf are formed by two cover plates.
  • the end faces of the door leaf are at least partially formed by angled edge strips of the cover plates.
  • the door leaf contains a frame which is formed from a profile. In the door leaf level, longitudinal edge strips of the profile provided with a groove open towards the front sides of the door leaf are angled.
  • Such a fire door is known from DE-PS 34 23 550.
  • the space between the cover sheets forming the visible sides of the door leaf and the surrounding frame forming the front sides of the door leaf is filled with mineral fibers. Because these are said to contain organic binders, there are fears that the organic binders will decompose at high temperatures and that flammable, explosive flue gas will develop and accumulate as a result.
  • the known fire protection door to form the end faces of the door leaf by means of a frame provided with openings, the frame being to consist of a profile which has a dovetail-shaped groove which is open to the outside.
  • the openings in the frame should be arranged in the form of elongated holes in the base of the groove.
  • a cover strip with two legs should engage behind the dovetail-shaped groove, the cover strip being to be filled with a non-combustible material that foams up in the heat.
  • the weight saving of the door described above is negligibly small compared to conventional doors, since this results at best from the material punched out of the profile to form the elongated holes.
  • the elongated holes themselves can prevent smoke gas accumulation within the door leaf. However, if flammable flue gas escapes from the door leaf, this increases the risk of spreading the fire to neighboring rooms. If, on the other hand, it is possible to seal the gap between the door leaf and the frame through the cover strip filled with heat-foaming material, the elongated holes in the profile are that forms the front frame of the door leaf, ineffective as a result, since the flue gas cannot escape.
  • the invention has for its object to propose a fire protection door of the type described above using mineral fiber panels to be arranged in the door leaf box, the fire protection door being characterized by a particularly high stability without being heavy.
  • two mineral fiber boards can be combined in one with the help of the frame Arrange the distance parallel to each other, which corresponds to the width of the profile part from which the groove open to the outside is formed.
  • the angled longitudinal edge strips of the profile engage positively in the front groove of the mineral fiber plates and fix them in the intended position without the frame covering the mineral fiber plates over the full width of the end face and a longitudinal edge strip having to lay on the outer side surfaces of the mineral fiber plates, whereby the heat-transferring contact area between the frame and the cover plates of the door leaf would be increased and, in addition, the mineral fiber plates would have to be arranged at a distance from the cover plates according to the thickness of the angled longitudinal edge strips.
  • the frame and the mineral fiber boards can be prefabricated into a compact, stable unit that fills the interior of the door leaf box in a form-fitting manner, whereupon the cover plates have to be fitted snugly on both sides of the unit and their angled edge strips with the frame, for example, by Glue or spot welding are to be connected.
  • the bending stiffness of the frame and thus the stability of the door leaf can be increased overall in that the profile forming the frame is at least in its the area delimiting the groove is provided with stiffening beads extending in the longitudinal direction of the profile.
  • the opening cross section of the groove is provided with step-like extensions on both reveal sides.
  • a heat transfer path that is as long as possible can be created for the inevitable heat transfer bridge then formed solely by the frame, in which the groove in the frame profile is formed relatively deep, which has the further advantage, according to one embodiment of the invention to be able to arrange a stable gypsum gallery in the groove.
  • the gypsum tunnel allows the frame to be additionally stiffened and thereby receives a large bending moment even when the material of the profile from which the frame is formed is relatively thin-walled.
  • the cross section of the groove of the profile and the cross section of the gypsum gallery are preferably matched to one another in such a way that the gypsum gallery completely fills the groove of the frame.
  • the fire protection door essentially consists of a box-shaped door leaf 1. This is composed of two cover plates 2, 3 and a frame 4 and includes two mineral fiber plates 5.
  • the frame 4 which bridges the edge edges 6 of angled edge strips 7 of the cover plates 2, 3, is formed from a profile which has a groove 8 which is open to the outside.
  • a strip 10 foaming under the action of heat and a gypsum gallery 11 are inserted, which are held by bead-shaped projections 12 on the film 9 and corresponding depressions 13 in the reveals of the groove 8.
  • Edge strips 14 of the frame 4 which are angled toward the inside of the door leaf box, engage in grooves 15 which are provided in the end faces of the mineral fiber plates 5 and fix them at a parallel distance from one another, so that the mineral fiber plates 5 lie tightly against the inner sides of the cover plates 2, 3.
  • the frame 4 ' is formed from a profile, the groove 8' delimiting profile sections are provided with stiffening beads 16 which are spaced apart and extend in the longitudinal direction of the profile. From the cover plate 2 'an edge strip 7' is angled, which overlaps the frame 4 ', thereby closes the groove 8' to the outside and is folded with a U-shaped bent edge strip 7 'of the cover plate 3'.
  • the opening cross-section of the groove 8 ' is provided on both soffit sides with step-like extensions 17, in order to be able to use a lock case, not shown, in the groove 8, the faceplate of which can be positively recessed into the extensions 17 with its edge strips projecting beyond the lock case.
