Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for drying dishes in a household dishwasher or the like., In which the washing liquor is heated by a heater arranged outside a washing container, preferably an electric instantaneous water heater, using a largely closed drying system, in which air from the rinsing tank via a drying device that can be regenerated by heating and from there circulates back into the rinsing tank.
- a heater arranged outside a washing container, preferably an electric instantaneous water heater
- the dishes placed in a dishwasher are heated to about 60 ° C. to 70 ° C. in a so-called rinse cycle through the circulated washing liquor. After this heating process is completed, rinse aid is added and spread over the dishes. The hot washing liquor is then pumped out and the drying process is initiated.
- the walls of the dishwasher are somewhat cooler than the washed dishes, so that water condenses on these walls and thus evaporates from the dishes.
- DE-OS 20 16 831 which forms the closest prior art, describes a dishwasher in which, on a wall of the washing compartment, a container for receiving a drying agent, which is connected to the interior thereof through a closable opening, is built in, to absorb the moisture and to heat it again when heated can deliver.
- This known embodiment has the disadvantage that, on the one hand, the container with the drying agent is difficult to separate from the interior of the washing container and, on the other hand, additional heating is required, which must be switched on at the right time so that the drying agent is sufficiently dried when the rinsing process is completed .
- the invention has for its object to provide a device for drying dishes, in which the drying process is carried out quickly and without any special additional effort. According to the invention, this is achieved in a device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the drying device consists of a drying container which is in thermal contact with the heater.
- the drying container can be filled with stones made of clay or the like, e.g. used in hydroponics. Better properties, i.e. Desiccants which absorb moisture with their molecular structures have a higher moisture absorption at a lower volume. Zeolites such as are described in the Römpp chemistry lexicon 1977 are preferably used as drying agents. In order for the desiccant to be easy to handle, it is advantageous to use a granular bulk material.
- the connection between the drying container and the rinsing container is expediently carried out via air ducts in which a blower can also be installed.
- the desiccant is at least partially placed as a jacket around the heating elements of the heater, then these parts replace the otherwise usual thermal shielding surface.
- the heating elements reach surface temperatures of up to 250 ° C, so that the desiccants in the drying container are safely heated during each heating process and thus dried.
- a particularly good constructive design provides for a drying container which is shaped as a double-walled hollow cylinder and is thus placed around the heater of the instantaneous water heater.
- the drying container can also consist of two half-shells.
- the inlet and outlet openings of the container can be arranged diagonally opposite one another, so that there is a uniform flow through the drying container.
- Thermal bridges which may also be designed as air guiding surfaces, can improve the separation of moisture from the air in the drying container.
- the air ducts in the washing compartment expediently open on the one hand at the top and on the other hand in the lower part of the washing compartment and the air humidity is to be kept away from the dryer during the washing process, it is advantageous to provide the air duct with a closure which interrupts the air circulation during washing. If a blower is provided for the air circulation, the outlet opening provided on the bottom can be provided with a closure which can be lifted off by the air flow and which, e.g. covers the outlet opening in a cap-like manner.
- a rinsing container 1 is equipped on the bottom side with a sump 2, from which the rinsing liquor is pressed by a pump 4 into the distribution and spray system (not shown) of the rinser via the flow heater 3.
- a double-walled hollow cylinder 7 is placed as a drying container, which is filled with a drying agent.
- the drying container 7 is connected to a discharge opening 9 which opens into the container 1 and is provided with a cap-like cover 10.
- the drying container 7 is connected to the air duct 12, into which a fan 13 is looped.
- the opening 14 of the air duct 12 ends on the top side in the washing compartment 1.
- the tubular heater 6 also the drying container 7 to temperatures of e.g. heats up more than 100 ° C
- the washing liquor is removed from the tank 1 by a sewage pump, not shown.
- the fan 13 If the fan 13 is now switched on, the highly moisture-containing air is sucked out of the rinsing container through the opening 14 and pressed into the drying container 7 by the fan 13.
- the desiccant stored in the drying container 7 absorbs the moisture and the comparatively dry air is pressed back into the container 1 via the connection 8 and the blow-out opening 9. The air again absorbs moisture here and releases it back into the desiccant.
- the desiccant in the drying container is heated up again in the wash cycle, i.e. when the cleaning liquor is heated up, and the moisture is returned to the washing container through the air duct.
- thermal bridges and air guiding surfaces can be used in the double-walled hollow body.

Description
The invention relates to a device for drying dishes in a household dishwasher or the like., In which the washing liquor is heated by a heater arranged outside a washing container, preferably an electric instantaneous water heater, using a largely closed drying system, in which air from the rinsing tank via a drying device that can be regenerated by heating and from there circulates back into the rinsing tank.
After the cleaning process has been completed, the dishes placed in a dishwasher are heated to about 60 ° C. to 70 ° C. in a so-called rinse cycle through the circulated washing liquor. After this heating process is completed, rinse aid is added and spread over the dishes. The hot washing liquor is then pumped out and the drying process is initiated. In general, the walls of the dishwasher are somewhat cooler than the washed dishes, so that water condenses on these walls and thus evaporates from the dishes.
Not in all cases with this type of drying does the drying process take place evenly and not in all cases quickly enough. Especially with dishes with low heat capacity drops often stick, which can give rise not only to unsightly stains but also to corrosion. An attempt has therefore been made to improve the drying process. Thus, by cooling a wall part with a water sprinkler, the precipitation on this cooled surface can be significantly improved. Also by circulating the air, for example via a cold water surface let into the container, the drying process can be improved as well as by circulating the air via drying devices arranged outside the rinsing container. Exhausting the air saturated with water vapor from the container promotes drying, but has the disadvantage that the moisture gets to the surrounding furniture and into the rooms.
To avoid the disadvantages mentioned last, closed systems are preferred. It has already been proposed here to use latent heat stores, by means of which the air saturated with water vapor is cooled and thus dehumidified.
Diese bekannte Ausführungsform hat den Nachteil, daß zum einen der Behälter mit dem Trocknungsmittel nur schwer gegenüber dem Innenraum des Spülbehälters abzutrennen ist und zum anderen eine Zusatzheizung erforderlich ist, die zum richtigen Zeitpunkt eingeschaltet sein muß, damit beim Abschluß des Klarspülvorganges das Trocknungsmittel ausreichend getrocknet ist.DE-OS 20 16 831, which forms the closest prior art, describes a dishwasher in which, on a wall of the washing compartment, a container for receiving a drying agent, which is connected to the interior thereof through a closable opening, is built in, to absorb the moisture and to heat it again when heated can deliver. This known embodiment has the disadvantage that, on the one hand, the container with the drying agent is difficult to separate from the interior of the washing container and, on the other hand, additional heating is required, which must be switched on at the right time so that the drying agent is sufficiently dried when the rinsing process is completed .
The invention has for its object to provide a device for drying dishes, in which the drying process is carried out quickly and without any special additional effort. According to the invention, this is achieved in a device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the drying device consists of a drying container which is in thermal contact with the heater.
By connecting the drying container to the heater, which is in any case available for heating the washing liquor, the drying device is immediately ready for operation after the washing process has ended. In the simplest case, the drying container can be filled with stones made of clay or the like, e.g. used in hydroponics. The connection between the drying container and the rinsing container is expediently carried out via air ducts in which a blower can also be installed.
If the desiccant is at least partially placed as a jacket around the heating elements of the heater, then these parts replace the otherwise usual thermal shielding surface. The heating elements reach surface temperatures of up to 250 ° C, so that the desiccants in the drying container are safely heated during each heating process and thus dried. A particularly good constructive design provides for a drying container which is shaped as a double-walled hollow cylinder and is thus placed around the heater of the instantaneous water heater. For reasons of simple assembly, the drying container can also consist of two half-shells. The inlet and outlet openings of the container can be arranged diagonally opposite one another, so that there is a uniform flow through the drying container. Thermal bridges, which may also be designed as air guiding surfaces, can improve the separation of moisture from the air in the drying container.
Since the air ducts in the washing compartment expediently open on the one hand at the top and on the other hand in the lower part of the washing compartment and the air humidity is to be kept away from the dryer during the washing process, it is advantageous to provide the air duct with a closure which interrupts the air circulation during washing. If a blower is provided for the air circulation, the outlet opening provided on the bottom can be provided with a closure which can be lifted off by the air flow and which, e.g. covers the outlet opening in a cap-like manner.
- Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a dishwasher with the device according to the invention and
- Fig. 2 shows a schematic representation of the design and assignment of the drying container to the water heater.
After completing a heating process, in which the tubular heater 6 also the
With a device according to the invention it is achieved with little effort that the drying process can be brought to a conclusion quickly without impairing the environment.
The next time the dishwasher is started up, the desiccant in the drying container is heated up again in the wash cycle, i.e. when the cleaning liquor is heated up, and the moisture is returned to the washing container through the air duct.
For better heat distribution and also for more uniform separation of moisture, thermal bridges and air guiding surfaces can be used in the double-walled hollow body.
