Abstract

The invention relates to a connector for connecting an electrical lamp to two parallel electrical conductors arranged in the upper part of a room to be illuminated. The object of the invention is to provide a flexible illumination system which permits the lamps to be positioned at any desired point on the line. The solution of this object is that the connector has two bores or openings, through which the two blank conductors can be passed, as a result of which the connector can be displaced along the conductors. The connector expediently contains a printed circuit for the electrical connection of the lamp or lamp terminals to the conductors or conductor bars.

Description

The invention relates to a connector according to the preamble of claim 1.

The invention has for its object to provide a flexible lighting system that allows the positioning of the lighting fixtures or lamps at any point on the line.

The solution to this problem is - in connection with the preamble - specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. In the upper part of the room to be illuminated, two mutually parallel, bare conductors or conductor rails are arranged. This loop-shaped line, which is connected to a low-voltage source (for corresponding lamps, in particular halogen lamps) are made of a pair of thin, chrome-plated metal rails that serve as electrical connection lines and at the same time for the mechanical suspension of the lamps. These two conductor rails are connected to the usual electrical supply network via a transformer. The rail-shaped line consists of straight elements and angle elements.

The connector according to the invention for connecting the lamp to the parallel conductor rails - and at the same time for positioning as desired along the conductor rails - has two openings which are adapted to the cross section of the conductor rails and are connected to electrical contact parts (while the connector is otherwise made of insulating material or plastic consists). The connector is preferably composed of two parts or half shells, each comprising a part of the circumference of the conductor.
A printed circuit is inserted or plugged into the hollow interior of the connector, which connects the electrical connection elements for connecting the connection lines leading to the lamp to the contact parts on the contact receptacles comprising the two parallel, bare electrical conductors. This printed circuit can be easily replaced in the event of a breakdown, as can the connector as a whole.
The connector thus consists of a base element made of insulating material as a contact carrier part with receptacles for the two bare, parallel connecting lines and a circuit card. The circuit card can also have other electrical or have electronic components such as LED fuses, resistors. The circuit card that connects the two rails to the lamp has two terminals at its end for connecting the cables of the lighting fixture and an LED operating display.

The contact between the cable in the form of a rail and the card takes place via two terminals.

The connector consists essentially of two halves or half-shells made of insulating material / plastic, with a connection base S being integrally formed on one part, the support part A, into which a connection plug for the electric lamp is inserted or into which the lamp can even be used with an appropriate contact socket.
The carrier part A has two protruding webs or pins S1, S2, in the end face of which a transverse recess A1, A2 is formed, each of which engages around a conductor rail L1, L2 over more than 180 °.
Additional circular arc-shaped recesses B1, B2 are formed in the side walls of the closure part B. The closure part or cover part B also has a sleeve H for receiving a

Connection screw, which can be screwed onto the support part A (either directly or by means of a separate screw nut).

In the connector, more precisely in the cover part B, the circuit card C is inserted or inserted, which has the elements specified above (only shown schematically in FIG. 4). This plug-in card is used to connect the lines leading to the lamp (connections G1, G2) to lines or contact parts on the holes or receptacles A1, A2.
