Description

Die Erfindung betrift einen Verpackungskarton gemäss Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches.The invention relates to a packaging box according to the preamble of the claim.

Such boxes often contain instructions for use for the products packaged in them. Warranty certificates and warnings regarding compatibility must often be added to the products in the box. In order to avoid inserting such information into the carton together with the product, it has now become common to print this information on the inner wall of the carton and to design the latter so that it can be laid out flat when the product is removed. Such a carton is described in US-A-4,441,612 and WO 82 102 531. With this box, only one tear line needs to be opened to open a lid wall and remove the contents from the box. However, two more tear lines must be cut on this so that the finished box can be spread out flat. To do this, a pull must be exerted in a direction that is different from the pulling direction when the first tear line is cut. So at least two manipulations are necessary to spread the box flat.

A sealed package is described in US-A-2,981,456, but no fewer than seven tear lines must be separated in several steps to lay this package flat.

The object of the present invention is to provide a carton which can be opened and laid out flat with a single simple manipulation.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the carton described in claim 1.

In the case of the box according to the invention, after opening the tear line in the front wall, the top wall can be raised for the purpose of opening the box. The tear lines are also cut that run along the edge of the box on which two wing flaps belonging to the end walls are connected to the top wall, and which essentially form continuations of the tear line in the front wall, as a result of which the box is laid flat with a single upward movement can be.

The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example.

Es zeigen:

  • Fig. 1 eine Draufsicht auf die Aussenseite eines als Kartonrohling ausgestanzten Stücks Kartonpappe, das zur Herstellung des Kartons nach der Erfindung verwendet werden kann;
  • Fig. 2 in Perspektive einen aus dem Rohling nach Fig. 1 geformten Karton;
Show it:
  • Figure 1 is a plan view of the outside of a piece of cardboard punched out as a cardboard blank, which can be used to manufacture the cardboard according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of a carton formed from the blank of Figure 1;
  • Fig. 3 in perspective the box shown in Fig. 2 with the lid part open; and
  • 4 shows a plan view of the inside of the carton according to FIGS. 2 and 3 which is spread out flat when opened.

It should also be pointed out that the terms "top wall", "front wall", "rear wall" and "bottom wall" refer to a specific position of the box and should make it easier to identify the different box walls.

The same parts are provided with the same reference symbols in all the figures.

The carton comprises four larger wall pieces 1, 2, 3 and 4, 1 denoting the top wall of the carton, 2 a rear wall adjoining this, 3 the bottom wall and 4 the front wall. As shown in Fig. 1, these four wall pieces are connected to each other foldable.

The cover wall 1 has laterally, foldably connected smaller wing flaps 6 and 7. A pair of tear lines 8 and 9 are indicated as dashed lines in Fig. 1 and can be used to separate the wing flaps 6 and 7. The bottom wall 3 carries laterally larger wing flaps 11 and 12 which are connected to it in a foldable manner. The wing flaps 6 and 11 represent a first overlapping pair of wing flaps, which is used to form one end wall of the carton, while the opposite carton end wall is formed by the pair consisting of the wing flaps 7 and 12.

As can be seen from Fig. 1, the wing flaps 11 and 12 are larger than the wing flaps 6 and 7 and, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the outer sides of the wing flaps 11 and 12 form the outer sides of the end walls of the finished box in which the wing flap 11 is glued onto the wing flap 6 from the outside and likewise the wing flap 12 is glued onto the wing flap 7 from the outside, as a result of which the two end walls of the carton come about.

The rear wall 2, as shown in FIG. 1, has lateral wing flaps 14 and 15 which are connected to it in a foldable manner, and in the same way the front wall 4 has wing flaps 16 and 17 which are foldably connected. These wing flaps 14, 15, 16 and 17 are neither glued to one another nor to another wall piece. In the finished box, the wing flaps 14 and 16 on one end wall and the wing flaps 15 and 17 on the opposite end wall, one overlapping the other, are folded inwards and serve to stiffen the box.

An extension piece 19 is foldably connected to the front wall 4 and is glued to the underside of the lid wall 1 along the free longitudinal edge in the blank according to FIG. 1 when the carton is finished.

In the front wall 4, an arcuate tear line 20 is attached, which delimits a segment 21 with a curved edge. This segment 21 must be pressed in when the finished box is to be opened.

The finished cardboard box shown in FIG. 2 is produced by first forming a tube of rectangular cross section by gluing the extension piece 19 to the cover wall 1. The wing flaps 14, 15, 16 and 17 are then bent inwards, the wing flap 16 overlapping the wing flap 14 on the one hand and the wing flap 17 overlapping the wing flap 15 on the other hand. The wing flaps 11 and 6 are then folded inward and glued to one another with the wing flap 11 lying outward.

In the same way, the wing flaps 12 and 7 are then bent inwards and with the wing flap 12 glued together on the outside, whereby the carton shown in FIG. 2 is completed.

In order to open the carton, the segment 21 is pressed in while separating the curved tear line 20 and the now released segment 21 is pulled upwards, whereby the tear lines 8 and 9, which essentially form continuations of the tear line 20 in the front wall 4, are separated. As a result, not only is the lid of the carton opened, but also the entire carton is spread out flat, since the lid wall 1 is no longer with the front wall 4 remaining without the segment 21 and no longer with the part of the glued end walls (6, 11 , 14, 16 and 7, 12, 15, 17) forming smaller wing flaps 6 and 7 is connected.

Fig. 3 shows the box with the lid wall 1 forming the lid, before it is laid out flat.

The inside of the flat-out carton is then shown in FIG. 4 and can contain instructions for use and other information printed thereon, which can now be easily read after opening the carton. FIG. 4 also shows that the wing flap 6 now separated from the cover wall 1 remains glued to the wing flap 11 and the wing flap 7 likewise separated from the cover wall 1 remains on the larger wing flap 12.
