Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a housing for a vacuum cleaner and in particular to a housing for a hand-held vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Vacuum cleaners in particular household vacuum cleaners, are usually used with several accessories, such as various nozzles and brushes, which are each intended for a specific suction process.
  • various nozzles and brushes which are each intended for a specific suction process.
  • the nozzles are expediently always at hand on or in the vacuum cleaner housing.
  • the vacuum cleaner can be preceded by a carpet brush with its own electric drive, which is connected to an electrical connection of the vacuum cleaner via a cable.
  • Such vacuum cleaners are known as canister vacuum cleaners, for example from DE-AS 16 28 702.
  • a cuboid housing of a vacuum cleaner is described, which has on its underside a recess for receiving the rolled-up suction hose and a second cavity for receiving a mouthpiece.
  • the mouthpiece receiving space is arranged on the side of the dust bag compartment facing away from the motor.
  • the partition between the mouthpiece receiving space and the dust bag space is formed in two parts and with undercuts, since it is difficult to manufacture in one piece with the housing for reasons of injection molding.
  • this housing shape either at least two different injection molds are necessary or a single, complicated one. In any case, the production is complex and therefore expensive.
  • a cylinder vacuum cleaner is described in DE-AS 16 28 685.
  • a recess is formed in the housing wall above the dust bag, in which the most frequently used suction nozzle is accommodated.
  • additional suction nozzles are placed in a common holder on this recess, which means that the smooth contour of the housing is lost and the danger arises that the attachment gets caught in the cable of the vacuum cleaner or gets caught on an edge of the furniture and is therefore damaged.
  • such a fastening is not suitable for use with hand-held vacuum cleaners, since the holder would be thrown away by its rapid reciprocating movement and the associated, constantly changing inclination when vacuuming.
  • the two vacuum cleaner designs mentioned above have the disadvantage in common that the air-permeable partition between the dust bag compartment and the suction motor is flat, so that the dust bag can lie against the wall, as a result of which the suction effect is no longer distributed over the entire dust bag, but only still occurs in the areas of the dust bag that abut the openings of the partition.
  • the suction effect is no longer distributed over the entire dust bag, but only still occurs in the areas of the dust bag that abut the openings of the partition.
  • the absorption capacity of the dust bag is not fully utilized.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to design a generic housing for a hand-held vacuum cleaner, which is of compact construction, consists of as few parts as possible and which enables a full utilization of the capacity of the dust bag.
  • the bottom part of the housing is made in one piece and without undercuts and is therefore simple and therefore inexpensive to manufacture. According to the invention, it has recesses in which the accessories can be easily inserted from the outside, in such a way that they are completely accommodated in the recesses. As a result, the handheld vacuum cleaner maintains its aesthetically pleasing shape.
  • the smooth surface housing also prevents getting stuck on furniture edges, curtains and the like when handling the vacuum cleaner.
  • a first housing recess is formed by a storage space for a nozzle, which is arranged between the front dust chamber and the rear motor chamber of the housing and is open towards the bottom of the housing, whereby an intermediate space that is already present in conventional vacuum cleaner housings is enlarged, which is technical is provided to form the section of the sealing groove extending in this area.
  • the air passage openings in the intermediate wall between the dust space and the engine compartment are expediently arranged on both sides of the storage space, the intermediate wall having the air passage openings being set back in the direction of the engine compartment relative to the front wall of the storage space.
  • the storage space advantageously has essentially the shape of the nozzle to be accommodated with slightly enlarged dimensions. This allows the nozzle to be conveniently inserted into the storage space without leaving an unused space.
  • a ring-shaped extension which extends in the direction of the base and extends conically upwards and onto which the nozzle can be attached, is expediently formed on the upper wall of the storage space. This provides a particularly simple attachment option for the nozzle.
  • the storage space can essentially have the shape of an upholstery nozzle, so that the frequently used upholstery nozzle can be accommodated therein.
  • a second storage space running in the longitudinal direction of the dust space for receiving a further nozzle can be formed in the bottom region of the dust space. Because of its special shape, the elongated crevice nozzle is particularly suitable for this, which is also required for almost every suction process.
  • a channel which runs in the longitudinal direction thereof and is open towards the floor and opens into the storage space for receiving an electrical connecting cable for a carpet brush.
  • a further accessory namely the electrical connection cable for a carpet brush, can be accommodated in the housing according to the invention.
  • At least one pair of opposing clamping arms is arranged in the channel, between which the cable can be clamped. In this way, the cable is securely fastened within the housing so that it does not interfere with the suction process.
  • a socket for the plug connection of the cable is arranged in an axial orientation on the channel in a recess in the engine compartment which adjoins the channel.
  • the housing for a handheld vacuum cleaner shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a front dust compartment 1 and a rear engine compartment 2, which are separated by an intermediate wall 3.
  • the lid 4 of the dust chamber 1 can be opened in the direction of an arrow shown in FIG. 1 and is connected in an airtight manner to the bottom part of the dust chamber 1 by means of a seal 5 which is inserted into a circumferential groove 6.
  • a storage space 7 for receiving an upholstery nozzle 7a is formed between the dust space 1 and the engine compartment 2.
  • This storage space 7 has a front side wall B, an upper wall 9, in which a section of the circumferential groove 6 is formed, and a rear wall 10.
  • the storage space 7 is open towards the bottom of the housing and, as in particular from FIG. 2 to see a shape that corresponds to the upholstery nozzle to be accommodated.
  • an annular extension 11 which extends in the direction of the bottom side and widens conically upward, onto which the upholstery nozzle to be accommodated in the storage space 7 can be attached.
  • air passage openings 20 are formed which connect the dust compartment 1 to the engine compartment 2. Since the intermediate wall 3 containing the air passage openings is set back in relation to the front wall 8 of the storage space 7, a dust bag 21 cannot come into contact with the air passage openings 20 and close them, so that a uniform distribution of the suction effect in the dust chamber is ensured.
  • a second storage space 12 which extends in the longitudinal direction and serves to receive a crevice nozzle 13.
  • the vacuum cleaner housing also has, in the floor area of the engine compartment 2, a channel 14, which is open towards the floor and opens into the storage space 7, for receiving an electrical connecting cable 15 for a carpet brush.
  • a pair of opposing clamping arms 16 is arranged in the channel 14, between which the cable 15 can be clamped.
  • the depth of the channel 14 increases in such a way that a plug 17 of the electrical connecting cable 15 can be conveniently guided inside the channel and inserted into a socket 18 which is located in a housing chamber 19 adjoining the channel 14 is arranged.
