Durch den von den Zuggewindebolzen 5 erzeugten Zug zwischen Wellenbund 1c c und Ringscheibe 6 wird der Anpressdruck zwischen den Stirnflächen 4c der Welle 1 und den Stirnflächen 1e des Wellenbundes 1c und der Stirnfläche 6b der Ringscheibe 6 erzeugt, der wie der praktische Betrieb inzwischen erwiesen hat, ausreicht, das für den Walzbetrieb notwendige Drehmoment von der Welle 1 auf den Walzenmantel 4 zu übertragen.
