A cardboard box including a cover constituted by an inner flap (2) and an outer flap (3) intended to be superposed, the inner flap including at least one opening (11), the outer flap including, in.its region overlying over said opening, a cut-out providing two tongues (21, 22) whose root segments (23, 24) situated adjacent to two corresponding sides (12, 13) of the opening are of substantially the same width as the said sides, each tongue having a region of greater width than said sides running parallel to said root segment, characterized in that the opening in its inner flap (2) is substantially in the form of two facing trapesiums having a common axis of symmetry (10) constituted by the common short base of the two trapesiums, and in that the tongues of the outer flap (3) are symmetrical about an axis of symmetry (10') corresponding to the axis of symmetry of the trapesiums of the opening of the inner flap.
2. A box according to claim 1, characterized in that the opening (11) of the inner flap includes side lips (14, 15) having a linear slit (16, 17) cut therein along said axis of symmetry (10) of the opening.
3. A device for closing a box according to claim 1, the device comprising a tool (40) for forcing the tongues (21, 22) into the opening (11) and being characterized that the tool (40) has a cross-section analogous to the opening (11) provided in the inner flap (2) and in that it has two symmetrical studs (42, 43) extending along the short axis of its cross-section in the bottom portion (41) thereof suitable for co-operating with respective ones of the two lips (14, 15) on either side of said opening of the inner flap.
