Claims (4)

1. Projectile à effet cinétique d'un rapport longueur-diamètre élevé, comportant une cage de propulsion segmentable entourant le corps du projectile, dont les segments sont maintenus sur le corps du projectile par des moyens de liaison forcée pendant le parcours du tube de l'arme, et qui comporte en avant un évidement en forme d'auge qui, une fois que le projectile a quitté le tube de l'arme, provoque par l'avant l'écartement des segments en raison de la surpression qui y est établie par l'air qui s'écoule à son contact, caractérisé en ce que la pointe (10) du projectile comporte une calotte (14) agrandissant son diamètre, qui protège la cage de propulsion des variations de pression jusqu'à la séparation des segments du corps (1) du projectile et qui se sépare de la pointe (10) après la séparation de la cage du corps (1) du projectile et rétablit ainsi le coefficient de traînée cx initiale auquel la calotte (14) a donné une valeur plus défavorable.
2. Projectile selon la revendication 1, présentant les caractéristiques suivantes:
a) La calotte (14) a la forme d'un cylindre circulaire et présente un diamètre extérieur (16) correspondant approximativement au diamètre extérieur maximum (17) du projectile (1) et est placée sur une zone (12), ayant sensiblement la forme d'un cône circulaire, de la pointe (10).
b) La calotte (14) est délimitée antérieurement par une surface frontale à l'écoulement rentrante (15) et comporte des évidements (13) périphériques parallèles à l'axe longitudinal pour former des emplacements destinés à la rupture.
c) La surface frontale à l'écoulement (15) et les évidements (13) sont conformés de façon que, sous l'effet de la pression d'écoulement de l'air, après que le projectile ait quitté le tube de l'arme, ils n'entraînent la rupture et l'éloignement de la calotte (14) de la pointe (10) du projectile qu'après la séparation de la cage.
3. Projectile selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que la calotte (14) est constituée par une matière de faible densité, par exemple une matière plastique.
4. Projectile selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la calotte (14) fixée à la pointe (11) du projectile est un corps (20) en une matière qui se consomme sous l'effet du frottement de l'air qui s'écoule à son contact, après que le projectile ait quitté le tube de l'arme et après que la cage se soit séparée, par fusion, ramollissement et/ou combustion.
