Es ist also weder notwendig, gleiche Abstände der Objekte voneinander einzuhalten, noch die Objekte während des Abbringens der Gegenstände anzuhalten. Dies wird nach der Erfindung dadurch ermöglicht, daß die Stoßvorrichtung nur kurzzeitig auf das Applizierelement einwirkt und bereits wieder verschwindet, bevor das Applizierelement unter dem Stoß zusammen mit dem anzubringenden Gegenstand auf das Objekt aufschlägt. Durch den Rückprall und die Wirkung der Feder wird erreicht, daß praktisch keine Relativverschiebung zwischen dem vorbeigeführten Objekt und dem auf ihm anzubringenden Gegenstand stattfindet, wobei die von den vorbeigeführten Objekten selbst betätigte Steuerung dafür sorgt, daß die Gegenstände stets an der gleichen Stelle auf dem Objekt plaziert werden, wie schnell und in welchen Abständen auch immer diese an der Vorrichtung vorbeigeführt werden. Die Stoßvorrichtung weist zweckmäßig eine Luftdüse auf, die gegen das Applizierelement gerichtete Luftstöße erzeugt. Eine solche Luftstoßvorrichtung arbeitet praktisch trägheitslos und der Luftstoß bewegt das Applizierelement nur in derjenigen Richtung, in der es den Gegenstad gegen das Objekt schleudert.
