Definitions

  • the present invention relates to supports or mobile supports for WC bowls, sanitary, household, furniture, worktops.
  • the support according to the invention allows the adjustment of the useful height of the devices at will.
  • WC bowls are usually constructed and fixed so that their seat is at a height from the ground of twenty five to thirty centimeters for children and forty centimeters for adults. These ratings are usually advised by all uses and standards. In use it turns out that medical and physiological requirements, in particular the size and the flexible flexibility of the users, would like these WC bowls to exist with adaptable or variable heights. Likewise, it is desirable to be able to offer the disabled a mobile support making it possible to upgrade various devices of everyday life, for example sewing machines, various furniture such as tables and chairs, machines for work, or d other sanitary appliances.
  • German patent 2526336 proposes to mount a sink on a hydraulic piston allowing to vary its height.
  • French patent 1,534,337 proposes other means of driving in vertical translation for a sink.
  • German patent 2839242 proposes a urinal which the user can move by hand to adjust the height and the inclination;
  • US Pat. No. 3,925,833 describes a device for varying the height which separates the level of the toilet seat from the bowl. This is only a rather inconvenient and unstable palliative, especially since it is not interesting to increase the height which separates the level of the seat of the bowl from the level of the water which remains at the bottom of this bowl for obvious reasons of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • the object of the present invention is in particular to propose a device making it possible to obviate the drawbacks of the known devices by allowing the height adjustment of various devices of everyday life such as sanitary installations, machines or furniture by the use of a support. universal mobile and adaptable to any form of device.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide such a mobile support whose adaptation to these different devices is particularly quick and easy.
  • such a mobile support is easy to install for adaptation to a pre-existing installation, and is also removable and transportable.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a motorized mobile support, the control of which is particularly easy to allow use by disabled people.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide sanitary installations comprising such a mobile support which is suitable for people of different morphologies.
  • the present invention as characterized in claim 1 provides a device in which a movable intermediate support slides vertically in relation to guide means integral with a fixed support and is stressed by an electric motor driving a worm screw journalled in a thread secured to the movable support;
  • the fixed support forms a casing, covering the mechanical members, and has a passage on the front to allow the mechanical junction of the mobile support with an adapter member shaped to receive the object to be made mobile.
  • the attachment means comprise bolts inserted into bores provided in the mobile support at a spacing corresponding to the arrangement of the bolts provided on the devices initially fixed against the wall, the fixed support being secured to the wall of the room by bolts engaging in the slots provided in the fixed support and corresponding to the holes made in the wall for fixing the same devices against the wall.
  • the attachment means comprise an adapter member, for example a console, secured to the mobile support, and of configuration adapted to receive various devices, machines or furniture.
  • a mobile support is thus produced allowing rapid and inexpensive adaptation to very diverse applications such as sanitary, domestic or professional applications.
  • the device further comprises means for connecting the flow of the bowl allowing on the one hand the vertical mobility of the bowl, and on the other hand the speed of installation and removal of the mobile support. For this, it is possible to provide an angled bellows for the evacuation of waste water, connected to the outlet orifice of the bowl and to the evacuation pipe.
  • first vertical bellows connected between the discharge pipe and a rigid bent pipe
  • a second horizontal bellows connected between the outlet outlet of the bowl and the bent pipe, this bent pipe being secured to the movable support.
  • the vertical bellows can be extended by a length equal to the desired vertical clearance of the toilet bowl
  • the horizontal bellows can be extended of a length at least equal to the depth of the fixed support and of the mobile support generally disposed behind the toilet bowl; thus the bowl can be fixed either to the mobile support for the use of this support, or directly on the wall of the room during the removal of the mobile support without requiring the disconnection of the evacuation pipes.
  • the actuator control means comprise a plurality of switches distributed over a height of between one meter and one meter fifty, and arranged within reach of the user, these switches can be combined with the lighting controls in the room.
  • means are provided for adapting the shape and the inclination of the bowl to the morphology of the user: in particular fixed support slides are provided, in which the mobile support engages, the upper part of which is inclined to cause the mobile support and the toilet bowl to tilt progressively forward when it is moved towards the high position.
  • the bowl may include lateral notches facilitating the passage of the legs of the user in a position close to the standing position. It is also possible to equip the toilet seat with geometrical shapes and different dimensions in order to obtain an adjustable useful surface area and of a shape adapted to the morphology of the people.
  • FIG. 1 there is shown the mobile suppoprt device according to the invention on which is adapted a toilet bowl 1 of the suspended type, integral with a flush 2, the whole leaning against and fixing on the vertical wall usually located at the rear by two bolts 3 located at the level of the bowl.
  • the bowl 1 In the wall fixing position, the bowl 1 is fixed to the wall 4 by the two rear bolts inserted in the holes 5.
  • the evacuation of the wastewater is done by an evacuation pipe opening into the orifice 6.
  • the mobile support of the present invention is inserted between the bowl-flush assembly and the wall4.
  • the mobile support comprises a fixed support or chassis 7, fixed to the wall by two bolts inserted in the holes 5, and comprising guide means 8, shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, for guiding a mobile intermediate support 9 in a substantially movement vertical.
  • the mobile support 9 is stressed in vertical movement by drive means 10 comprising an electric motor 11 driving an endless screw 12 journalled in a thread 13 secured to the mobile support 9.
  • the fixed support 7 forms a casing, covering all the mechanical members, and has a passage on the front to allow the mechanical junction of the mobile support 9 with an adapter member 14 whose configuration is adapted to receive the object to be made mobile .
  • the adapter member may simply consist of the bolts 3.
  • FIG. 4 it will be possible, as shown in FIG. 4, use an adapter member in the form of a vertical plate secured to the mobile support 9, or, as shown in FIG. 5, a console also secured to the mobile support 9.
  • the bores provided in the mobile support 9 for the insertion of the bolts 3 have the same spacing as the holes 5 initially provided in the wall.
  • various means are interposed to allow the elongation and the deformation of the evacuation pipe leading to the orifice 6.
  • a second horizontal bellows 17 connected between the outlet orifice of the bowl 1 and the bent pipe 16.
  • the bent pipe is secured to the movable support 9 by a collar 18, ensuring the correct orientation of the bent pipe whatever the vertical position of the bowl 1.
  • the vertical bellows 15 is determined to be able to lengthen by a length equal to the desired vertical clearance of the bowl 1; the horizontal bellows 17 is provided to allow an elongation of a length at least equal to the depth of the fixed support 7, so that the bowl can be fixed either to the support according to the present invention or directly on the wall 4 of the room without requiring the disconnection of the drainage pipes.
  • the water inlet pipes bringing the water to flush 2 will be made of flexible tube.
  • the toilet flush 2 is mobile at the same time as the bowl 1.
  • the discharge pipe from the bowl 1 comprises a single bellows 19 forming a right angle.
  • the bellows must be provided to be able to undergo a horizontal extension and a vertical extension sufficient to allow the installation and removal of the device and its vertical mobility.
  • FIG 3 there is shown an embodiment of the device allowing the adaptation of a toilet bowl fixed to the floor.
  • the adapter member 14 is in the form of a console, the bowl being fixed on the horizontal part 20 of the console.
  • a wedge can be provided which has the shape of the underside of the bowl and that it is placed on the ground, the bowl having the normalized height when it is placed on this wedge.
  • To carry out an exchange for example the installation of a mobile device according to the present invention in a wall-mounted sanitary installation, first remove the bolts inserted in the holes 5 of the wall and fixing the bowl 1, the bowl is advanced sufficiently to insert the mobile support against the wall, this support is fixed by the bolts inserted in the holes 5 and, after having brought the mobile support 9 to a suitable height, the bowl is fixed by the bolts 3.
  • the shim can then be removed and the system is operational. The operations require only a few minutes to an unqualified person, a single key being sufficient for the exchange of bolts.
  • Such a device makes it possible to produce sanitary installations adapted to disabled people.
  • the bowl may include, as shown in Figures 6 and 8, side notches 60 and 61 facilitating the passage of the legs of the user.
  • a flap 62 with an adjustable surface this surface can for example be modified by providing two overlapping flaps 62 and 63 providing a central orifice of different sizes.
  • a bowl can be provided, the seat part of which is not horizontal but slightly inclined while going up at the rear or, preferably, a system or drive allowing simultaneously a vertical drive and an inclination of the bowl with departure from the horizontal bowl in low position and inclination proportional to the rise height.
  • This can be achieved by using means for guiding the mobile support which are curved forward in the high position, so as to slightly pour the bowl forward when it is in the high position.
  • the engine controls 11 and possibly the room light may include a series of switches distributed linearly over a height of, for example, between one meter and one meter and fifty meters and placed within reach of the user, so that the user can reach the switches regardless of the position of the toilet bowl
  • These controls may also be within reach of the user's knees or elbows.
  • an electrically controlled flush for example comprising a solenoid valve to control the outlet of flush 2
  • the solenoid valve may be replaced by an articulated tongue or fork integral with the movable support 9, and which passes under the button 30 for flushing control. This tongue or fork can be acted upon by an electromagnet or a jack fixed to the movable support 9.
  • Support means such as armrests can be secured to the movable support 9 to be operated in the same movement as the bowl 1 or the console 14. It will thus be possible to move in movement a sink, a mirror, a light socket, the lighting ice, a drawer for toiletries.
  • the use of the mobile support according to the present invention is particularly suitable for sanitary appliances such as W.C., as has been described previously.
  • the same toilet bowl can be used as a toilet or as a urinal, the height of the toilet being able to be fixed, for example, at forty centimeters from the ground or at sixty five centimeters at the sole will of the user.
  • the same installation can be used in a raised toilet for the disabled.
  • the mobile support of the present invention can be used to adjust the vertical position of devices different from sanitary installations, for example machines, furniture such as tables or chairs, in particular to allow their use by disabled people.
  • an adapter member in the form of a console 14 it is of course possible to prefer an adapter member in the form of a console 14.
  • the present invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been explicitly described, but it includes the various variants and generalizations thereof contained in the field of claims below.
