Abstract

Métodos y composiciones que mejoran la adhesión de una bacteria a sustratos blanco y/o mejoran la tolerancia al estrés de una bacteria. Los métodos comprenden exponer al bacteria a condiciones para adaptar la adhesión, y con ello incrementar la actividad de adhesión y/o la tolerancia al estrés de la bacteria. Además, se proporcionan bacterias que tienen una producción modulada de autoinductor-2. Las composiciones incluyen bacterias recombinantes que expresan moléculas de ácidos nucleicos que participan en la vía de producción del autoinductor-2. Además, se proporcionan proteínas de fusión relacionadas con el autoinductor-2, péptidos antigénicos, anticuerpos y vectores. Además, se proporcionan métodos para analizar compuestos o condiciones ambientales que estimulen la producción del autoinductor-2 y/o produzcan una respuesta adaptativa de al adhesión, al igual que diversos métodos para usar las bacterias que tienen una adhesión y/o una tolerancia al estrés incrementada.
