Abstract

The tool (1) is intended for generating an axially directed force on a rod in order to loosen or establish a press fit between the rod and a body, e.g. the connecting spigot, pressed into a tube end, of a joint connection. For this purpose, the tool (1) has a rod receptacle (24) with a clamping jaw (28) which can be pressed against the rod by a first working piston (20, 37), so that the tool (1) can be fixed to the rod surface without damage thereto. A second working piston (21), provided axially parallel to the rod receptacle, generates the desired axially directed force. The two pistons (20, 21) are moved one after the other by arranging in the hydraulic line (12-14) leading to the second piston (21), a pressure control valve (56) which opens only after the working movement of the first piston (20) has reached its end position. The hydraulic pressure is generated by a hand-actuated pump (36, 51, 53, 52) arranged in the shank (3, 4) of the tool (1). The hydraulic oil is stored in bellows enclosed in the handle (2) of the tool (1), into which bellows the return flow takes place after opening a pressure-release valve (66). <IMAGE>
