Claims (14)
1. System til transmission af et lydsignal til en bruger, hvilket system omfatter: et elektrode-array (32) omfattende en flerhed af elektroder (32E), der er konfigureret til anbringelse mindst delvist i en cochlea hos brugeren; et kredsløb, der er konfigureret til at modtage lydsignalet fra en lydkilde (22); mindst en lyskilde, der er koblet til kredsløbet, hvilken lyskilde omfatter en optisk multiplekser og er konfigureret til at udsende et multiplekseret optisk signal omfattende en flerhed af lyspulser gennem brugerens trommehinde; mindst en detektor (34), der er konfigureret til at modtage det multiplekserede optiske signal og lede strøm gennem elektroderne (32E) som reaktion på lyspulserne.
2. System ifølge krav 1, hvor kredsløbet er konfigureret til at bestemme bredderne af en flerhed af lyspulser, og hvor hver lyspuls svarer til en elektrode (32E) i array'et (32), og en bredde af hver lyspuls svarer til en mængde strøm gennem den tilsvarende elektrode i array'et.
3. System ifølge krav 1, hvor kredsløbet er konfigureret til at bestemme frekvenser af lydsignalet, og hvor frekvenserne svarer til elektroder i array'et (32), og hvor kredsløbet er konfigureret til at bestemme en bredde af hver puls som reaktion på en eller flere af frekvenserne.
4. System ifølge krav 1, hvor den mindst ene lyskilde omfatter en flerhed af lyskilder, og hvor hver lyskilde svarer til en elektrode i array'et (32), eventuelt hvor hver af flerheden af lyskilder er konfigureret til at udsende lys omfattende bølgelængder, der i det væsentlige er adskilt fra bølgelængder af andre lyskilder af flerheden, eller eventuelt hvor flerheden af lyskilder omfatter mindst tre lyskilder, og elektrode-array'et (32) omfatter mindst tre elektroder, og hvor hver af de mindst tre lyskilder svarer til en elektrode af de mindst tre elektroder i array'et (32), eventuelt hvor hver af de mindst tre lyskilder er konfigureret til at udsende lys omfattende bølgelængder, der i det væsentlige er adskilt fra andre af de mindst tre lyskilder, og hvor bølgelængderne af hver kilde svarer til en elektrode af de mindst tre.
5. System ifølge krav 1, hvor den mindst ene detektor (34) omfatter en flerhed af detektorer, og hvor hver detektor (34) af flerheden svarer til en elektrode i array'et (32), eventuelt hvor flerheden af detektorer (34) omfatter mindst tre detektorer (34), og elektrode-array'et (32) omfatter mindst tre elektroder, og hvor hver af de mindst tre lysdetektorer svarer til en elektrode af de mindst tre elektroder i array'et (32).
6. System ifølge krav 1, yderligere omfattende en optisk struktur, der er konfigureret til at modtage det multiplekserede optiske signal, hvilken optisk struktur er konfigureret til anbringelse i mellemøret, hvilken optisk struktur er konfigureret til at vælge bølgelængder af det multiplekserede signal, eventuelt hvor den optiske struktur er dimensioneret til at passere igennem et snit i trommehinden til anbringelse i mellemøret, og hvor elektrode-array'et (32) er dimensioneret til anbringelse mindst delvist inde i cochlea gennem et rundt vindue i cochlea, eventuelt hvor den optiske struktur omfatter mindst en blandt et optisk filter, et gitter, en etaion, en flerhed af optiske fibre eller en prisme, eller eventuelt hvor det multiplekserede optiske signal omfatter en flerhed af optiske kanaler, idet hver optisk kanal af flerheden svarer til mindst en frekvens af lyden.
7. System ifølge krav 1, hvor det multiplekserede optiske signal transmitteres gennem brugerens trommehinde til mindst en fotocelledetektor (34), hvilken mindst ene fotocelledetektor er fastgjort til mellemøret og koblet til elektrode-array'et (32), der er anbragt mindst delvist inde i cochlea, eventuelt hvor den mindst ene fotocelledetektor (34) og elektrode-array'et (32) er dimensioneret til at passere igennem et snit i trommehinden, eventuelt hvor det multiplekserede optiske signal omfatter et bølgelængde-multiplekseret optisk signal, hvilket bølgelængde-multiplekserede optiske signal omfatter en flerhed af bølgelængder, således at hver bølgelængde svarer til en elektrode i array'et, eventuelt hvor hver bølgelængde i flerheden svarer til en elektrode i array'et, eller eventuelt hvor flerheden af bølgelængder omfatter mindst tre bølgelængder, og hvor flerheden af elektroder omfatter mindst tre elektroder, og hvor hver bølgelængde af flerheden svarer til en elektrode af de mindst tre elektroder.
8. System ifølge krav 1, hvor kredsløbet er konfigureret til at transmittere en serie af lyspulserne svarende til elektroderne i array'et (32).
9. System ifølge krav 8, hvor serien omfatter en flerhed af pulser, og hvor hver puls af flerheden svarer til en elektrode af flerheden, eventuelt hvor flerheden af elektroder omfatter mindst tre elektroder, og hvor serien omfatter mindst tre pulser, og hvor hver puls af de mindst tre pulser svarer til en elektrode af de mindst tre elektroder.
10. System ifølge krav 8, hvor serien omfatter en timing-puls, eventuelt hvor timing-pulsen omfatter en i det væsentlige fast bredde, og hvor timing-pulsen omfatter energi til at strømforsyne et kredsløb, der er koblet til flerheden af elektroder (32E), eventuelt yderligere omfattende et omkoblingskredsløb koblet til den mindst ene detektor (34) til sekventielt at koble hver elektrode af flerheden til den mindst ene detektor som reaktion på timing-pulsen, således at hver puls af serien svarer til den ene elektrode af flerheden.
11. System ifølge krav 1, hvor elektrode-arrayet (32), den mindst ene detektor (34) og en demultiplekser omfatter i det væsentlige ikke-magnetiske materialer, konfigureret til MRI-billeddannelse, når de er implanteret i brugeren.
12. System ifølge krav 1, hvor lyden omfatter en fase, og hvor det optiske signal omfatter breddemodulerede lyspulser, der transmitteres med en frekvens på mindst ca. 10 kHz, og hvor hver lyspuls frembringer en elektrisk strøm i cochlea, således at cochlea demodulerer lyspulserne, og fasen af lyden bevares.
13. System ifølge krav 12, hvor de breddemodulerede lyspulser omfatter en serie af breddemodulerede pulser for hver kanal, og hvor serien af breddemodulerede pulser af hver kanal omfatter en frekvens på mindst ca. 10 kHz til bevarelse af fasen af lyden, når brugeren hører lyden, eventuelt hvor frekvensen af hver serie omfatter mindst ca. 20 kHz til bevarelse af fasen af lyden, når brugeren hører lyden, eller eventuelt hvor flerheden af kanaler omfatter mindst ca. otte kanaler, og frekvensen af de breddemodulerede lyspulser omfatter mindst ca. 160 kHz.
14. System ifølge krav 13, hvor pulserne af serien af breddemodulerede pulser af hver kanal kombineres til dannelse af en sekvens af pakker af pulser, idet hver pakke omfatter en puls fra hver serie.
