Abstract
Skimmer for swimming pools or swimming ponds which mainly consists of a housing (3) in which can be provided a strainer or a filter (4) that is pervious to water, and which housing (3) is provided with an intake (8) via which the water to be purified can be supplied, a discharge orifice (6) through which the purified water can be carried back to the swimming pool (2) or the swimming pond, an opening via which the strainer or the filter (4) that is pervious to water can be cleaned and can possibly be removed to that end, characterised in that the skimmer (1) is also provided with at least one tubular element (16) or the like which can be provided with a first open end (17) on and can be connected to the above-mentioned intake (8), such that the second open end (20) of the tubular element (16) can serve as a point of inflow for the skimmer (1), which is then provided at a distance from the housing (3) of the skimmer (1).
