Spring mattress with zones of different deformability

The invention relates to a mattress with a spring core.

These mattresses are known for a wide range of applications. The springs used are usually packed in bags made of fabric or a similar material and are then referred to as pocket spring cores (TFK).

Two basic forms of TFK have emerged.

On the one hand, cylinder TFK, which are relatively cheap to manufacture, but have the disadvantage that the springs rest against each other along their entire length. The ability of the upper side of the springs to move against each other is therefore greatly restricted. This also results in reduced sleeping comfort.

The second form of the TFK is barrel-shaped. Here, the springs only touch each other in the middle. The top and bottom can be moved against each other, within limits of course. This means that loads that are not only parallel to the spring axis, but also diagonal to it, can be absorbed much better by the TFK. Overall, a higher level of sleeping comfort is achieved than with cylindrical TFKs.

When a Tonnen-TFK is installed in a lying surface, a relatively soft support is achieved.

Mattresses made of cylindrical TFK have a higher hardness with the same spring density per unit area and the same spring dimensions as comparable ton TFK.

The disadvantage of the previous designs is that when achieving a special sleeping comfort for special requirements, mattresses were always used that consisted only of barrel-shaped TFK. This means that only a relatively hard sleeping surface can be achieved.

The object of the invention is to provide a mattress that has different lying areas of different hardness.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the technical teaching of claim 1.

Because the mattress is not made entirely of the same TFK, but rather uses either cylindrical or barrel-shaped TFK depending on the area of the mattress, the comfort of the mattress can be increased considerably.

Some embodiments will be explained in the following figures, without the invention being limited to these embodiments.

Figures 2 to 4 are schematic representations of mattresses.

Figure 1 shows how the geometric structure of the cylinder or barrel springs influences the mattress's spring and mobility behavior. When subjected to a load that is not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the springs, the cylinder springs 2 can hardly deform because they support each other. The spring core is accordingly hard.

This is not the case with the barrel-shaped TFK 3. The gaps between the individual TFKs allow the spring cores to give way. 15

The mattress 1 is composed of different springs, whereby the cylinder TFK 2 is used in zones 4 and the barrel TFK 3 in zones 5.

A schematic representation of a mattress is shown in Figure 2. Here it is clear that through the targeted use of barrel-shaped TFK 3, zones with good mobility 5 can be created. These are used where particularly good spring behavior is possible, even in directions not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the TFK.

Here is an example in which the shoulder area in particular is given extra suspension.

Figures 3 and 4 show further examples of a mattress assembled in this way. These designs can be used in hospitals, for example, where a targeted springing behavior of the bed is achieved for individual body parts.
