PACKAGING FOR DIMENSIONALLY STABLE OBJECTS

The innovation relates to a packaging for dimensionally stable objects, such as writing utensils, painting utensils, lipsticks, nail files according to the generic term of claim 1.

Up to now, blister packs have been used predominantly for this purpose. These are a combination of plastic and cardboard, and the items are visibly packaged in the deep-drawn plastic part. The disadvantage of this type of packaging is that the sealing of the plastic with the cardboard means that it is not possible to separate the materials by type and recycling is not possible.

The aim of the innovation is to create packaging for objects that can be made from one material and allows for easy disposal. The packaging must also be designed in such a way that the objects are optimally presented for sale and that theft of the objects with the packaging is made more difficult by increasing the volume. In order to avoid damage, such as scratching the objects, they should be arranged completely within the folding box.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The packaging is based on the well-known principle of the folding box. Folding boxes usually consist of a one-piece cardboard cut-out that is glued flat and later erected to be filled with the goods and closed with tabs after filling. The folding box can be provided with a hanging tab. The packaging can be filled without machines or other aids. This means that it can be assembled cost-effectively by assistants or even at home.

The main innovation is the positioning, fixation and sales-oriented presentation of the items. /2

The innovation is explained below using an example. It shows:

The basic innovations can be seen in Figures 1-3. As an example, packaging for writing instruments is described here. The solution to the problem is achieved by the special design of the front part (1) of the folding box. The front part is divided by punching lines so that several retaining tabs (2,4,5,6) and the web (3) are created. The individual, pre-grooved retaining tabs are folded downwards when the folding box is erected and form the holder for the writing instruments (S).

The folded-in upper retaining tab (2) fixes the position of the writing instruments upwards. The bar (3) with the retaining tab (4) underneath prevents the writing instruments from falling out of the packaging.

FIG. 3 shows how the two retaining tabs (5) prevent the writing instruments (S) from moving sideways.

The lower retaining tab (6), which is folded as shown in FIG. 2, fixes the tips of the writing instruments by means of cutouts and keeps the writing instruments pressed downwards. The retaining tabs (4) + (6) are intended to hold the objects below the level of the front part of the folding box in order to minimize the risk of damage, e.g. through scratching. After the bottom of the folding box is closed and locked using the locks, the writing instruments are firmly positioned and can only be removed by destroying the folding box. The writing instruments remain almost completely visible in the resulting viewing window and sales can be optimally supported by an advertising statement on the upper part of the front.

The detailed design of the individual tabs depends heavily on the external geometry of the objects to be packaged and their position in the packaging. The contours of the cutouts may need to be adjusted. In favorable cases, for example, the cutouts in the retaining tab (6) can be omitted. For longer objects, the web (3) and the retaining tabs (5) can be arranged several times on top of each other if necessary.

PROTECTION CLAIMS: 1. Packaging for dimensionally stable elongated objects, characterized in that the packaging (1) consists of a single material, that the pre-punched and pre-grooved flaps (2,4,5,6) in the front part of the packaging are folded in such a way that a suitable space for the objects is created in the packaging and these are firmly positioned,
that the objects are additionally held by one or more webs (3). 2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the two retaining tabs (4) + (6), with or without cutouts, firmly position the objects and press them to the bottom of the packaging.
