Der derzeit Verwendung findende Kopfschutz beim sportlichen Fechten bietet nur unzureichenden Schutz gegen Hiebe und Stiche im Kopf- u. Halsbereich. Dadurch,daß der Hinterkopf völlig frei und auch der Kehlkopfbereich nur bedingt geschützt ist.The head protection currently used in competitive fencing offers only inadequate protection against blows and stabs to the head and neck area. Der Erfindung liegt der Wunsch nach optimaler Sicherheit der Akteure im Kopf- und Halsbereich zugrunde. Dieses Z/iel wird durch die beiden Kopfschalen,welche deckend gearbeitet sind und den speziellen Dreh- und Verschlußstücken erreicht. Für die bequeme Handhabung ist der Kopfschutz auf seiner Innenseite mit einer,auf Klettverschlußbasis aufgebauten, Polsterung ausgestattet. Der Kopfschutz kann aus den verschiedensten Materialien geiex'tigO sein und kann wahlweise mit oder ohne ^usatzschutz ( Kehlkopf- Brustbereich) getragen werden. Die erfindungsgemäße Herstellung bereitet keine Schwierigkeiten.The range of injuries in competitive fencing extends from scratches to death.
