Es hat sich außerdem auch in der Praxis- gezeigt, daß ein phosphatierter Überzug auf Bremskörpern aus Eisen wegen seiner physikalischen Eigenschaften nicht nur einen starken Reibungswiderstand schafft, sondern auch bei starker Erwärmung nicht merkbar abgenutzt wird und selbst bei mangelnder Schmierung nicht frißt. Das phosphatierte Sintereisen stellt also einen Werkstoff dar, der selbst den größten Beanspruchungen beim Bremsen gewachsen ist, da einerseits das Sintereisen im erlieblichen Maß Schmiermittel aufnehmen kann ünd andererseits auch bei Aussetzen der Schmierung nicht zum Fressen neigt.
