Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abdichtung der Ein- Und Austrittsschlitze an Behänd!ungseihrichtungen für laufende Warenbahnen mit unterschiedlichen Breiten, insbes. an Spannrahmentrocknern oder dergl., bei der oberhalb und unterhalb der Warenbahn eine Mehrzahl von zusammen die größte Warenbahnbreite überdeckenden, im Bereich der Breite der jeweils zu behandelnden Warenbahn nur ein geringes Spiel gegenüber der Warenbahn aufweisende Dichtungselemente nebeneinander angeordnet sind. Einen Ausschnitt aus den Blechmantelkäfigen 11, 12 mit den Abdeckscheiben 13 in Ansicht von vorn läßt Fig. 2 erkennen. Man sieht,, daß bei dem oberen Blechmantelkäfig 11 die über die Höhe der Kettenbahn 18 angehobenen Abdeckscheiben 13 auf dem Verdrängungsblech 17 aufliegen, während die abgesenkten Abdeckscheiben 13 durch Begrenzungszapfen 15 in einer Lage kurz oberhalb der Warenbahn 10 gehalten werden. Bei dem unteren Blechmantelkäfig 12 werden die Abdeckscheiben 13 durch das Verdrängungsblech 17 entgegen der Wirkung der Druckfedern 16, die das Gewicht der Abdeckscheiben ausgleichen, nach unten gedrückt. Außerhalb des Bereiches des Verdrängerbleches 17 drücken die Federn 16 die Abdeckscheiben 13 nach oben bis sie mit ihren Ausnehmungen 14 gegen die Begrenzungszapfen 15 anliegen und dabei kurz unterhalb der Warenbahn 10 fixiert sind. Die Warenbahn kann also zwischen den oberen und unteren Abdeckscheiben frei durchtreten.
