The innovation concerns a watch with decorative effects, in particular a wristwatch, pocket watch or the like, with a case containing the movement, a dial and a cover glass made of transparent plastic or glass protecting the dial.

Such watches are well known. In the field of wristwatches, pocket watches, etc., it has recently become common to produce particularly decorative models in all fashionable colors and with all possible designs. A general problem with watches of this type is that the case is normally heated by body temperature, while the dial is exposed to the outside temperature. This leads to sudden temperature fluctuations in the actual movement of the watch. In addition, the decorative models mentioned are likely to fade due to external radiation, particularly UV radiation.

The innovation is based on the task of proposing watches of the specified type in which the dial has increased protection, in particular against temperature fluctuations and UV radiation, and at the same time the advantage of producing unique optical effects can be achieved.

According to the innovation, this task is solved by the cover glass containing a cavity and the cavity being filled with a medium.

It is obvious that the cavity itself provides better insulation, while the medium filters and refracts the light hitting the dial. In addition, by choosing the appropriate medium, which will be discussed in more detail with reference to preferred embodiments, a large number of watches can be produced which can be easily modified in terms of their external appearance and optical effect.

In a preferred embodiment according to the innovation, the cover glass consists of two half-shells connected to one another, which are connected to one another in a media-tight manner , with the hollow space between them being sealed.

Figure 3 shows an embodiment in which, in contrast to Figure 2, the cavity 8 is only formed in the lower half-shell 11, while the upper half-shell 10 is practically flat. This embodiment facilitates the filling of the cavity 8 with a medium 9 or the introduction of the solid bodies 15 into the medium 9. For further details, please refer to the description above.

In the embodiment according to Figure 4, the cavity 8 covers only part of the dial 5, whereby the lower half shell 11 is smaller than the upper half shell 10 and can be attached to the upper half shell at any point by welding or gluing.

Figure 5 shows an embodiment in which the inner surface of the cavity 8 has a raised structure 18 in the form of strips or ring-shaped strips at least on the underside, i.e. on the side of the lower half shell 11 facing the cavity 8.
