Adhesive tape dispenser

The invention relates to an adhesive tape dispenser that can be folded open to change the roll and has a cutting attachment.

There are many different types of adhesive tape dispensers. In particular, those with a light and simple plastic construction for office supplies and household use are known in various forms. Nevertheless, there are many disadvantages in handling them in practice, for example when feeding a dispenser with a new adhesive tape roll, whereby the dispensers often have to be overstretched to open or otherwise manipulated in an unfavorable way. In addition, it is often necessary to use different dispensers for adhesive tape rolls of different widths or to accept that the adhesive tape rolls are not guided adequately over the holding mandrel and the cutting blade.

The adhesive tape dispenser according to the invention is advantageous in many respects. It is protected against accidental opening by the fact that the cutting attachment must first be removed, while it is not possible to open the dispenser with the cutting attachment attached. In addition, the hinge allows the dispenser to be opened wide and easily without overstretching certain parts of the dispenser or otherwise placing undue strain on it. To secure and close the dispenser flush, a conical groove is advantageously arranged on the mandrel onto which the adhesive tape roll can be attached, on the side that is free when the dispenser is unfolded, and on the half of the dispenser opposite the free side of the mandrel there is a guide groove that corresponds to this groove, into which the groove of the mandrel can be snapped and snaps into place when folded. When opening and closing the dispenser, an audible snapping or un-snapping sound indicates to the user which state he has now reached. In particular, the user can thus determine that the dispenser is properly and firmly closed and then attach the cutting attachment.

This serves to guide the cutting attachment in a way that is clearly visible to the user when attaching or removing it, and also to ensure that the user attaches the cutting attachment to the dispenser in a clear manner that does not allow for alternatives, and is guided by the guide slot to the intended handling of the dispenser and its cutting attachment. This arrangement also contributes to ensuring that it sits correctly without wobbling sideways.

In detail, the adhesive tape dispensers according to Figures 1 and 2 have a hinge 1 in their rear part, i.e. the part facing away from the cutting attachment, around which the dispenser can be opened and closed again.
